I'm sure if I'd said it was urgent they'd have tried to come sooner. They came out a week or so after I called to check things out and give me a quote. That guy, Matt, and the later handyman were friendly and efficient. Then another few weeks till they came out. I got the disposal and they installed it, plus added a plug under the sink and fixed the wall switch. Took an hour or so. This is the only handyman our dogs haven't barked at when they got here, and never did. He said he has dogs, but sometimes ours go nuts no matter what, on just hearing or smelling a stranger. The roof took maybe half an hour. Again, professional and efficient. Prices seem a little high to me, but it's been awhile since I hired anyone so this may be the new normal. And I used to be able to do some of this stuff but can't now, so, I have to pay someone sometimes. Worth it to have it taken care of.

I had an energy audit conducted this weekend by Greene Solutions. Tom Greene came out to complete…read moremy audit. He was friendly and respectful of my home. Before he started we chatted briefly about what my goals were and why I was interested in the audit. We came up with three goals and went from there. He tested the air quality of my home and did a blower door test. We found some surprising areas that was losing heat and were inefficient. He was helpful in ideas for quick home fixes to making a list of problem areas to focus on. I was pleased with the whole experience. I wouldn't have realized energy audits were a thing until I spoke with a co-worker who recently had one conducted. I am glad I got one done on my home. Hopefully this will help save some money in the winter once I start getting some of these projects checked off the list. Thank you to Greene Solutions for your help getting me sorted out!

Other contractors pointed to warped flashing. The repair was not actually very big or expensive, and they assessed that the roof has 10-15 years left. Can say pretty confidently after a few storms that they were right. All make mistakes, but that misdiagnosis would have really set me back. Would recommend getting other quotes.
