Clean basic hotel with a pool, free breakfast, free parking, and air conditioning. Great location within a 5 minute walk to broadway at the beach. Budget hotel in the Marriott portfolio. Friendly employees. Excellent location within 10 minutes of family living in Myrtle Beach. read more

I rarely leave reviews like this, but I feel it is my duty to! Staff were very friendly, but there was a musty, moldy, smell in our first room. We switched rooms and the smell was in the second room too. The second room had a dehumidifier which we kept on the whole time and I learned how to easily empty myself. But the smell was constantly there and nauseating. I'm assuming many of the other rooms smell moldy too, and that the staff is absolutely aware of this. I heard another woman complaining to the front desk about the smell in the room. I understand that humidity is very high here, but the contaminated rooms need to be marked and off limits. To be put there when they are aware of this is insulting, dangerous, and a version of gaslighting. We were concerned we were sleeping in mold - yuck! read more

I'd make it noticeably shorter than the previous versions. The strongest review is one people will actually finish reading. This keeps the facts that matter most and makes the lack of response from management the final takeaway. Extremely disappointing experience -- made worse by management completely ignoring us afterward. Our room had a very noticeable heavy, musty/mildew-like odor from the time we arrived. But the biggest issue was a persistent beeping noise that continued throughout the night and made it nearly impossible to sleep. I called the front desk THREE separate times during the night. Each time, the clerk was kind and apologetic, but told me maintenance had already gone home and that she was the only employee there, so she couldn't even leave the desk to come upstairs and investigate the noise. That was it. No assistance was offered. No offer to move us to another room. No alternative solution whatsoever -- just repeated apologies and being told maintenance wasn't there. For a busy Myrtle Beach hotel located right beside Broadway at the Beach, I find it extremely concerning that there was apparently only one employee available overnight with no ability to address a problem like this. The next morning, the employee at the desk told me maintenance was upstairs working on the issue. Unfortunately, by then the night was over. My children had gotten very little sleep, and I had gotten essentially none. What turned a terrible night's stay into an unacceptable customer-service experience, however, was what happened afterward. I remained polite and understanding throughout the entire situation. I called the hotel approximately four or five times after our stay and left messages asking for a manager to simply return my call. No one did. I finally contacted Marriott Bonvoy Customer Care. Marriott acknowledged my complaint in writing, opened a case for property leadership to review, and told me to allow up to five business days for a response from the hotel. Still, no one from this property contacted me. Maintenance problems happen. What is unacceptable is offering a family absolutely no solution after three calls during the night and then having management repeatedly ignore that guest afterward -- even after Marriott Customer Care formally refers the complaint back to the property. I gave this hotel numerous opportunities to address this privately before leaving a public review. I wasn't asking for perfection or even looking for an argument. I wanted basic hospitality, accountability, and the courtesy of a returned phone call. Unfortunately, this property provided none of those things. I would absolutely not stay here again. read more

Stayed here 3 nights. Two spiders and a mosquito was in our room. We were bitten. The people next door was extremely loud. The pool music was on past 11 pm couldn't sleep! The breakfast was not good. Out of everything, no bottled water, fruit, pastries, etc. The room was moldy and I didn't like the small bathrooms. Also no microwave in the room! I assumed the Marriott would have microwaves in the rooms. I won't stay here again. read more

RACIST PROPERTY - BLACK AMERICANS STAY AWAY! Let me start by saying as far as the stay goes it was decent. Room smelled like musty upon arrival. I didnt say anything because I always have spray. Beds were clean, Bathroom clean. Ok now that thats out of the way lets get to the issue. Upon check out i received a call from front desk telling me i had to check out at 11am but we had already reserved a 4pm check out upon check in. Mind you she calling at 10am. So after a back and forth with her being rude on the phone. I asked for a manager she said there was no manager there for the day. I said thats not possible there should always be someone to talk to. So she sent the housekeeping manager. Me and her agreed on 2pm check out. Fine. So as Im checking out I go to the front desk let them know and I walk outside. Im sitting on the bench and I get a notification from my credit card that Fairfield inn tried to charge my card 3 different times within minutes. $115.00- $250.00 -$445.00. So i go back inside and show the latino front desk clerk asim on the phone with the bank disputing it all. So she says I dont know let me look. As she is looking the housekeepiing manager comes up there to and says yes i told her to charge you because of smoke smell in the room. I said WTF are you talking about there was no smoking in the room yes it was musty when i got here but no smoking was done. Plus i just got out the shower all the soaps ans scrubs and perfumes and body butter i put on is all you will smell in that room. As im arguing with them my sister who's name the rooms were in comes down saying girl the manager just called my phone cursing me out calling me bitchs and monkeys. She said she asked why did your staff try to charge my sister ? The manager said there was no money on the card you dumb bitch . An he hangs up. So the housekeeping manager says come i will show you so i told my sister to go with her and ill stay at the front desk. While im at the front desk the short mexican lady was no help she was very nasty and rude and non chalant. I asked for the manager she said she dont have to call the manager. So my sister comes back to the front with the house keeper. Come to find out the housekeeper was LYING as suspected. She was complaining about the smell but my sister said when she went back there with her the room smelled sweet she asked the lady what smell. The mexican housekeeper GOES IN THE TRASH. She pulls out a CIGAR PAPER. Not lit, not used, trash basicslly trash and says this is why. She claimed one thing and showed another. Just lying. So i told them you cant charge me for paper. They started getting even more rude and threatened to call the police. I told her i dont care call them. My sister then asks for a manager and she says he isnt here and my sister said thats a lie i just seen him go into the office. So i say omg youve been lying to this entire time. Yall all are playing games. So after i find myself starting to yell i just say fuck it and me and my sister leave. While we are leaving she gets a call from the manager they said wasnt there. He is cursing her out being very rude and talking crap. I was able to catch the end of the convo and i cauht hm being rude on the phone when we called his office number back. I will attach video. Marriot did absolutely nothing to rectify the situation because they said we used the explore rate. Discount code or not that does not give your staff the right to racially profile and be disrespectful to those who use discounts. Dont offer the discount if this gives grounds to disrespect people. We are looking to sue and this will not be the end of this. Horrible customer service. Staff lying and charging customers 3 and 4 times. If i did smoke and was charged a fee it should be 1 fee these people charged me 3 times. I will be getting the law involved and shame on marriott and if your black please do not to to this fairfield inn broadway in myrtle beach they dont respect us and they are liars and disrespectful and will do horrible things to you. Don't say i didnt warn you. read more

Nice view of the pool and lake. We had an issue with our room, but the front desk and housekeeping were quick to put in a work order and switch us to another room. We also had an issue with one of the dryers in the laundry room. The front desk apologized and gave us more quarters, plus complementary laundry soap and dryer sheets. read more

Fairfield Inn Myrtle Beach Broadway at the Beach - Lake next to the Fairfield Inn in Myrtle Beach - Hotels Near Me - Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

During my stay in Myrtle Beach South Carolina I stayed at the Fairfield Inn Broadway Myrtle Beach. I chose this location because it is five minutes from the Myrtle Beach Convention Center by car; also because it's clean, had a complimentary breakfast and a gym. My first night arriving at the Fairfield Inn was stressful because there were several events going on; a cheer competition and a car show, and after traveling all day to get to Myrtle Beach upon arrival at the hotel there was absolutely no parking because huge trailers with hitches for the car show were cordoned off with cones, taking up five to ten parking spots each. This practice is unethical, inconsiderate and downright selfish. It was raining and because these oversized vehicles took up excessive parking spots the one car guest had to park in the adjoining hotels parking lot and walk over to Fairfield Inn in the rain (this is acceptable). There should be a designated area where these oversized vehicles and their hitches should be able to park without dominating and inconveniencing all of the other hotel guess. Another things that needed addressing was the female hotel clerk that worked the midnight shift, she was not knowledgeable about anything other than the basic check in procedure. Also most of the daytime clerks seem distracted and not very professional, but in the midst of all the unprofessionalism there was one hotel clerk named Carter who stood out. Carter was the only hotel clerk that displayed his name tag and conducted himself in a professional manner. Carter greeted guest with a smile and the perfect mannerism, he was knowledgeable and very informative. Carter's demeanor and attitude is a prime example of what all Fairfield Inn employees should exemplify. The hotel was clean, and the breakfast was fine, but guest may want to get to breakfast early because 35 minutes before breakfast ends the kitchen staff "sporadically" brings out additional breakfast items and waffle mix; on Saturday the kitchen staff brought out waffle mix by the cup, so the guest waiting to eat were all standing by waiting to see what if anything would be replenished. It's a guessing game... There is room for improvement. read more

This is a great place to stay! It is directly across the street from Broadway on the Beach so there are a lot of activities and restaurants really close! The beach is only a mile away and public (paid) parking is easily accessible at 34th Ave. The hotel common areas are clean and well maintained. The rooms are also clean and the air conditioning keeps the room cold. In our 3 nights stay, I never heard the sound of doors shutting or loud guests. The hotel staff is also very friendly, speaking to everyone as they come and go. Would definitely stay here again! read more

This was taken to the front desk and I was told it was blood and THEN they accused me of doing it because they were adamant that the room was clean. Meanwhile they told me what I thought was mold was blood because apparently that's much better. I also have zero cuts on me or my fiance for us to have any blood in the room. My cycle went off 10 days ago and there would be no reason for it to be on the pillow! Utterly disgusting!!! The house keeping supervision Lilian and the General Manager Anna Rogers are so rude, condescending and disrespectful I have no idea why either of them have a job with people. No apologies until minute 16 of the Great Pillow Debate because they want to give me their years off service in the industry as if it'll answer my question of why SOMEONE ELSE's BLOOD is on our pillows that touches us and our belongings?! Avoid this place like Ebola!! read more

The front desk clerk Anita was wonderful. She was welcoming and helped us handle changing credit cards on account. We also loved the free parking and wi-fi and that the hotel was directly across from attractions and dining. The room also had adequate sockets and USB ports for phones and other electronics. I didn't rate it a 5 due to the odd format and decor of the bathroom area. read more

The staff here is extremely rude except for the gentleman that checked us in. The housekeeping staff ave zero manners. There is no housekeeping service during your stay so you have to leave towels outside your door and they will replace. Makes you wonder how clean the rooms are. Then the breakfast bar is never up and running at 6:30 as advertised. The lady that works that acts like no one else is around and will walk in front of you and not say a word to you. Went down 2 different mornings at 6:45 and not even ready. The highlight of the trip was going into the bathroom and finding a cockroach in the shower! Brought it to the front desks attention and they didn't seem to care. So stay here if you like zero customer service and a dirty roach infested hotel! read more

Great property that's constantly well maintained. I've never had any issues during my stays. The staff is always helpful.

This Fairfield is located right across from broadway at the beach and only a few minute drive to the beach. We stayed here 3 nights while at Myrtle Beach. The front staff were polite and nice, but not always at the front desk. The breakfast was closed due to COVID, but they had grab and go breakfast available. The fitness center was clean. I used it 2 of the three days I was there. The first day there was a spray bottle to clean the items you used, but the second day there was no cleaning products available. Our room could have been cleaner. I found some food left on the top shelf of the frig and some trash (although small) behind the door as you enter. The free parking is a plus. read more

Solid hotel in a fantastic location. It feels comfortable and clean - even if it doesn't have a ton of extra frills. Still, has a pool on-location, great AC/heating, and a redesigned look. Would definitely stay here again - especially with the location so close to the mall area. PROS: -We got in so late, and the front desk staff person was absolutely a delight. She was extremely pleasant and friendly - even with my groggy self. -Mmmmm. The AC will get to absolutely frigid levels if you want to turn it down. It's absolutely great. -The beds are really comfortable too. Pillows are a bit soft and too squishy, but the bed itself is A+. It's that nice mixture between soft and firm. Zero back pain in the morning from an unfamiliar bed. -You're really, really close to the Broadway at the Beach outdoor mall area. It's easily walkable. If you want to go drinking at some of the establishments there, you can walk back to this hotel without too much issue. It isn't the shortest walk, but it's just a few blocks. -A lot of the hotel has clearly been redone recently. A lot of new, modern design. The hotel room has new carpeting and bedding too - though some of the areas (like the AC) show that this hotel has been around for awhile. -Room was clean with zero concerns. -Free continental breakfast. Good options with cereals, fruits, carton milks, warmed meats, and others. Picked over by the time we got there at 9AM, but still quite a few options. -Wasn't particularly loud or busy. I'd expect to find some busier parts to your stay if you stay for multiple days, but for a single night from check-in to checkout, the surrounding area was quiet. Just the hum of the AC to keep me company. CONS: -The hotel room has a bit of a musty smell to it. You get used to it after you first walk in, but it takes a couple of seconds. -Bathroom is a bit small, but you can still use the toilet and shower without too many problems. By far, it is not the worst hotel bathroom I've ever been in, but you're not going to be able to multitask with multiple people in there. read more

Room looks great- Room like 216. Very scenic... Close to the Broadway and beaches - Highly center of the place. Really helpful by Ms. Amanda Port on September 30th 2017.... and Breakfast lady Ann i think, she is elder one among the two...Very quick, responsive, she goes out of the way to get you Hot water also. They both excel in their work-wherever you go or do undercover study or true sense- they excel. The person who checked me in on Friday night gave a real nice room also Room 216- she said she did an Upgrade also - as per ... Room was really good and nice. I said except walking too long it was good enough- just kidding Thanks ensure to put a good note for all of them in their records please. 1. Ms. Amanda Port 2. Ms. Ann 3. Person who checked me in also Amanda Port was kind enough to add more time for my check out- she is quick, sharp, knowledgeable She has a GREAT Willing attitude..which is not easy- she is willing to help anyone. Same thing about Mrs. Ann who was in the breakfast, she was one of the elder -she does cleaning what not..I hesitate with my background if i can do her job so swiftly and honesty... We stayed here 7/4-7/7 and in that time we had purchased and picked up a very expensive, very large personal sign for our family run business and brought it to the room while we were staying. Our daughter had a massive ear infection so we rushed out of our room on 7/7 in the am and accidentally left our sign in the room. We have been calling every day including the day we left hoping they could put it aside since we were still local and could come pick it up. We got the run around from the front desk every day and then at night we're told we had to call in the day time since no one could find anything. We literally had JUST left! Somehow NO ONE saw the big brand new beautiful sign that was posted up against the wall between both beds that not only had my business name but the phone number right underneath! A 36" x 36" sign that you needed to hands to carry it with. Housekeeping has "no idea" what we're talking about. It's not like a desirable item for anyone else that was left behind, it was something very specific to our business with our phone number... The reason I'm even posting this is because no one seems to care . No one checked the room, no one spoke with the cleaner who went in. We are now forced to pursue this legally since it was too hard to call the number on the actual sign and say HEY we have your sign come back and get it. Very disappointed. read more

My wife and I stayed here Feb 7 through Feb 10 for our wedding anniversary. The hotel amenities are sub-standard at best. 1) no water pressure. It is non-existent. Showers take 4 times longer than normal in order to try to get shampoo out of your hair. 2) shower floods bathroom floor. We notified management at front desk twice about flooding. Water was running down glass door and into bathroom floor. Hotels answer was a few extra towels to soak up the water. One front desk clerk got really snarky with my wife when my wife showed the clerk the video of the water. 3) breakfast - not fit for a dog. Biscuit's served cold out of the bulk box from where they buy them. They were hard as hockey pucks too. Sausage patties were cold as ice in serving tray. Eggs tasted like scrambled powder. 4) wife used coffee pot in room. Supplies were never replenished after first night. What's the point of the coffee pot in the room? I guess the guests are supposed to 'remind' the cleaning staff to replenish supplies when cleaning the room. 5) our room smelled like mildew. All in all no value in me spending $122 a night for sub standard accommodations and snarky front desk clerks. My advice is to stay away. I hope there are better places to stay in Myrtle Beach. So much for Fairfields promise to make it right. read more

I just stayed at this hotel for the first time, and I must say that I am so impressed and delighted. From the minute I walked into the lobby, the scent of clean laundry was soothing. The cleanest hotel I have ever been in, from the lobby to the rooms. The bathrooms were spotless, the bedding was clean, fresh and looked new, as well as the carpet throughout. I slept like I was on a cloud, and checked out happy and relaxed. As for the staff, the following words describe them all: amazing, sweet, patient, courteous and engaging, making me feel at home. I highly recommend a stay here, and I will definitely be back with more time. read more

My boyfriend and I stayed the first week of march for 3 days, valued at $99 a night. This trip was taken as a business trip for a Petro Expo, our room was booked along with 25 others with his Company. In the end his card was charged over $1000 for something that should have been about $300-400. They charged us not one, but 2 $208 holding fees. One at check in and one the day after, AND a $250 "pet cleaning fee". However, we didn't have an animal with us...as we live in atlanta and didn't think bringing a 90 pound fluffy dog to the beach would be ideal. We got a pet sitter for him. Upon arrival, the front desk was awesome!!!, we got in around 6pm. We went to our room to change for the first dinner of the week!, it smelt a little odd but no worries we went to the dollar store and grabbed a candle. On the 2nd day I was getting ready to head to the expo, and had housekeeping knock on the door as I was heading out, they asked if I'd like the room to be cleaned or any towels. I said no because we were leaving the next morning and heading to another hotel that was beach front! (also with other hotels if you refuse room service they typically add more points to your card.) THATS WHERE I WENT WRONG...because apparently me saying no thank you to room service was proof that I brought my 90 pound husky with me!? WHAT???? We didn't see this $250 charge till 2 days after we had left the hotel. On Saturday, the day we were heading back to atlanta we called to ask about this, because there were over $1000 of charges from the hotel. They claimed they had proof we had a dog and to come to the hotel to dispute this. We drove 35 minutes from our other hotel before heading home to make sure this was resolved. We ended up being handed a phone to talk to the manger..."Bianca". She said "We have proof and it can't be given till Monday". 1. we drove out of our way to get this settled and were handed a phone???? 2. they could not give us any proof of an animal in the hotel. -THEY STILL HAVENT MIGHT I ADD. There reasoning for the $250 charge was ME refusing room service, and finding pet hair in the room. (I've attached pictures of my dog, who is very fluffy and white and basically on every clothing article I own unfortunately. -still love him!!!) They weren't able to produce any photo, video or hard proof of this. We were never refunded the $250 and got sent around in circles for about 2 weeks trying to resolve this from Atlanta. We will not be coming back to this hotel or any branch included. I don't think the company will take them into consideration for next year. Which I'm sure they don't mind, it's a HUGE expo and a lot of people come to it. They will book up next year I'm sure! Just know these people are out to get our money. It was not worth the money. There are thousands of hotels in Myrtle!! Definitely recommend looking elsewhere. read more

The pool was nice, clean, and had plenty of seating. The only negatives were the beds, they were very hard, and the toilet is so super close to the bathroom wall you almost have to turn sideways. The phone did not work so I had to go to the lobby.
