Comfortable easy access from interstate. Minus one star for breakfast spread, could be a bit better in my opinion.

For an expensive property these folks could do much better. Four things stand out…read more 1. If you like staying in a dog kennel this is your place. The property is "dog friendly" -- a real problem for those of use who require cleanliness and don't want to sleep in a bed where Lassie slept with her owner the night before. The property owner prioritizes dogs over people. 2. The internet was pathetic. the owner has configured their authentication system incorrectly and I had t o drop some of the security on my computer to allow access -- something I really To not want to do. The wi-fi never did work but I found a live Ethernet jack in the room that did (thank you for providing ethernet, however.) I was able to connect my router that way. It was also s-l-o-w (see photo.) 3. The hotel charges $22/day for parking in the same garage where the public is only charged $17/day. Cash grab. (see photo) 4. The room was nice. Thanks for that.

There was a lot of empty wall space. But I've heard that since the ownership change, 21C isn't quite the same as far as art goes. I got a basic king room. Bed was comfortable, linens soft and sleek. Had a decent sized TV, a couch, a chair, modern fixtures. The shower was hot and had great pressure. Roomy bathroom. I will agree with some others who say there is a lot of noise outside. A lot of loud trucks with obnoxious mufflers and ambulance sirens. This doesn't bother me, as I've spent the last six years in NYC, but it may drive some crazy. Blackout drapes aren't perfect, but decent. Mine were detached from the track when I arrived, but maintenance fixed it lightening fast. Staff is very professional. Valet is 30 bucks a day, but they are fast and efficient. The cost when I visited in December, right before new years, was about 120 a night (again, valet is 30 on top of that), but room is great and location is right downtown. You can walk to so many great restaurants and bars. Definitely recommend.

The hotel staff, especially Micalah at tye front desk, made our stay a six star stay, if we could rate it that high. This was the end of the birthday celebration for my partner. We didn't ask for any special treatment but they went above and beyond!!! The rooms are spacious, comfortable beds. The hotel is centrally located to great restaurants. This hotel brand is one we will visit again.

Giving the Elwood Hotel and Suites 4 stars. You may be wondering, why? Check-in was easy, I showed…read moremy ID, did my incidental deposit, and on a went. I've stayed at a few boutique/privately owned hotels before, and I will say, I've always been concerned about lack of security. I liked the fact that you needed a key card to get to the actual hotel portion of this hotel, which made me feel better about my safety, but will say I didn't see anyone at the desk when I left early in the morning (around 6am) on my departure date. My room was super spacious. I had a corner room that had two separate rooms, one included a sofa and sitting room with a TV, bathroom, and wetbar, which included a microwave and refrigerator, which was a nice touch. I also had a separate bedroom with a large king bed. Why the four stars? Temperature wise, it didn't seem like the thermostat worked well. When I adjusted it, it would go back to the original temp, so it made the room either too cold or too warm at times. The second thing that I docked a star for was I was on the third floor and when I arrived on the third floor, I got a whiff of cigarettes. I never saw anyone on this floor, so I don't know if it was actually someone, or it was embedded in the carpet. The good thing is the smell was NOT in the room, so that was a positive. I wish the bed had been a tad more comfortable, but if you like a firm mattress, they have the bed for you. Beware, this hotel is near a local hospital, so you may need to bring a sound machine to drown out the siren noises.
