Great neighborhood liquor store!! My mother has lived up the street for 25 years and our family has shopped there since. I have never been in there and couldn't find what I was looking for - helpful hint here is talk to the shop owners if you are looking for something specific....it is likely behind the register! Both of the owners (brothers) are always courteous, ask how my family is doing (and actually remember our last conversation) and make sure I get the coldest beer/wine available.
For those complaining about the condition of the store, you have to understand the original shops on that block were made by and for the community prior to gentrification - this liquor store included. Unfortunately, many of the businesses on the block are long gone (who remembers the Chinese spot where that bakery is now, or the funeral home where the gelato place is, or the abandoned soul food place in the white house near the fish shop, or the mechanic shop where the cross fit is?)...wish the neighborhood I grew up in was still the same. The liquor store owners are a hardworking family and should be supported by the neighborhood they live and work in. I'd had to see this spot vanish like the other places I mentioned. read more
