WOW! Came back from vacation to find my place at 92°. Called Fahrenheit (who installed my Carrier system) at 7:30am. They were booked, but squeezed me in somehow. They called me at noon and said technicians were literally at my door. They assessed quickly that a part was faulty. All parts suppliers closed at noon on Saturday's, so finding the part was a challenge. They found one an hour's drive away. They came back installed the part and my a/c is back in business. They were professional, incredibly service oriented and great at communicating what was happening. It's 3pm now and they just left. I rarely post reviews, it I HIGHLY recommend Fahrenheit. Can I leave negative stars? We're actually in the process of filing a complaint with the BBB for being swindled by Fahrenheit. Trust me it was as awful as others say. They installed a blower for the heater in our rental house, ended up wiring and mounting the blower incorrectly, and than never came back to fix the faulty repair. We scheduled 4 different appointment times to have them come back and they failed to show up all 4 times. We've tried to call multiple times to obtain some sort of refund and the company is basically ignoring our calls. We ended up having another company come out to fix their mess and still no calls from Farenheit. I cannot emphasize this enough- DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE!!!! If the option is polar vortex and no heat or working with Fahrenheit- choose polar vortex.. Once again- GO ELSEWHERE!! We had a problem with our HVAC system and needed some quick help to avoid melting in the heat. I called to get a few quotes and most places charged exorbitant service call fees that didn't apply towards the resolution. After making a few calls, Fahrenheit seemed very reasonable and would apply any fees towards a fix. They arrived the same day (less than 2 hours actually) and got the parts ordered. Other quotes were much more, and based on my pre-research of the parts, seemed way out of line - but not Fahrenheit. When the parts arrived, they showed up the same day and got me back up and running. Everyone we talked to and interacted with was very professional, courteous, and respectful of our property. Reading the reviews had me worried, but honestly shocked at what I read versus what I experienced. I couldn't have asked for better. read more

I have had to request service on my HVAC unit EVERY SINGLE summer since the installation to refill the coolant . Once again, I am without cool air and the company has continued to appear to service my unit... for free. Obviously there is a leak in my system and the company hasn't remedied the concern. These people are TERRIBLE. Here's why: 1) I scheduled a maintainance/consultation (consultation was re: moving the HVAC unit). They came and gave me costs. 2) Ghosted me for a full year. Really. I texted multiple times, no response. The only reason I stuck with them is my super said they were good. 3) A year later they finally responded. Completed maintainance at high cost, but whatever. They were SUPER late though. 4) This year I opened the indoor unit to replace the filter myself. They had crammed a 24x24 filter in an 18x20 slot. It was extremely difficult to get out--I thought it was going to tear and remain stuck inside. So if you want to pay a LOT of money to get treated poorly and have a shoddy job done...go for it. But really, save yourself the trouble! read more

Absolute ripoff. My condensor unit stopped working so I had a service tech from Fahrenheit come out to take a look. He ran some tests and determined the compressor was broken. He then tried to sell me a $4600 Carrier unit without any attempt whatsoever to fix my unit. He also tried to sell me another $2400 worth of equipment that turned out to be completely unnecessary. Fortunately, I got a second opinion. Someone from another company came out and quickly diagnosed the problem as a broken capacitor within the compressor. He replaced the capacitor and now my a/c is working great. I absolutely did not need to replace the unit. The Fahrenheit guy recognized that I don't know much about HVAC and he tried to rip me off. Avoid this predatory company like the plague. read more

Do not trust these people. We had a power surge in our neighborhood and our boiler blew. They came to our small city house and told us we needed an entirely new boiler system (even though ours is only about 10 years old) and quoted us over $8000!!!! Luckily, later that day we ran into our neighbors who told us they were having the same issue and that they were having the part (the transformer) replaced for around $300. Turns out all the boilers that were affected by the surge had the same problem which is a relatively simple part to replace. I thought it was shameful that Fahrenheit tried to take advantage of me and my family in a moment of need (no heat with a baby). Shame on you Fahrenheit. read more

We just purchased a home built in 1965 which was running a 30+ yr old ac unit on the first floor only (window units on the 2nd floor) and oil baseboard heating on both floors. We wanted to lose the oil and baseboards for forced air, and update the ac and get forced air ac on the second floor. House is almost 3500 sf, so this was a BIG job - took eight days. We ended up with 2 new Lennox heat pumps & air handlers, new ductwork and a new water heater. Josh, the foreman on the job, was outstanding! He really knows his job, and was very professional & friendly. He also seems to have terrific managerial skills. He communicated with me constantly throughout the job, and clearly explained what they were going to do, what they were doing while they were doing it, and what they had done after they were finished. I sure hope Sila realizes what a wonderful employee they have in Josh. The system is only a couple days old, but seems to be working great, and Sila has already contacted me to schedule a post-installation review to check that the system is working properly & as designed. I was very happy with my experiencing using Fahrenheit to have my heater tuned up this past weekend. When I called the office they were very easy to talk to and I could tell I was talking to someone who was actually local. Shortly after this their technician gave me a phone call to let me know he was on his way (very surprising since I didn't request same day service, maybe was a slow day?). After greeting him, he quickly went about checking all over my system. He came back telling me there were no issues, I have a new system so I hoped so! When I do run into my first issue with this system I will give them a call back. Very nice all around. read more

We discussed the bill, the pricing, everything! I feel that he understood my concerns and said he tried to stay competitive in a very competitive business. I told him that the promptness of their response was excellent and the work was done quickly and without issue. Warranty and use of my Bryant heater parts was exactly what I was looking for in his or anyone's company. I only felt that I was not given more information about billing. He apologized and said I should have been given more information. To have him call tells me that there are still good people in this world that want the best for each of us. I have changed my rating to a 5. Joseph cares about his business and strives for excellence. read more

FIrst call - Monday to main office - took my information and suggested they could be there same day, I asked to schedule for the next day since no one was home. Gave me a time window. Second day: Missed time window, called main office. Technician called back a few hours later but couldn't make it. Second technician called. Asked him to put me on the schedule for Friday. Friday: Called the main office to confirm the schedule. They new nothing about it, and said you had to call the main office to schedule. Passed call to girl who put us on the schedule for that afternoon. Friday afternoon: No show, no call Following Monday: Wife calls to see if they are coming, since they missed all previous opportunities. Man in the office is rude and says get another service company lady. read more

Note: This is a long review, but with the cost of the work that you may be having done, I think it's worth the read. Upon arriving home last Sunday from a weekend away, we walked in to a house that was 93 degrees with the central air conditioning blowing hot air out of the vents. I turned everything off and hoped that the evaporator coil was just frozen up from being overworked since it was 103° the day before in Philadelphia. We left it off overnight, but when we turned the unit back on in the morning, discovered that it still wasn't working. I contacted JB Plumbing & Heating which was highly recommended on yelp in the Fishtown area and Mark told me that he didn't do AC work, but recommended Fahrenheit Climate Control to his customers. I called Fahrenheit and they sent their service technician Jason out that afternoon, accompanied by a young apprentice I later learned was the owner's son. I showed them to the deck where the outdoor unit is located and Jason instantly said that he knew that the compressor unit was shot. He told me that my Goodman condenser was a piece of crap and that they don't even make that unit anymore. He said that he thought that the unit wasn't under warranty because the serial number ended in 04, even though the builder that we bought the house from had only installed it the year before (2010). He quoted me three options. 1) install a Hard Start Kit for $500 that could try to force the compressor to start up, but that was just a band-aid that could break again in a week; 2) Install a replacement compressor for $1800 but that he didn't trust Goodman products and there was no guarantee that it wouldn't break again in a year; and 3) to replace the outdoor compressor/condenser and the evaporator unit on the furnace for $3400 with a Carrier system with a 10 year warranty. At this point, I'll point out that he only took the side panel off of the outdoor unit and looked at the wires and listened to the sound of the machine. I paid them $99 for the service call which would be applied to the final amount of work that we paid them to do. He left and I set to work doing some research online. After a number of calls, I discovered that my compressor unit was, in fact, under warranty, so I called back and left a message with Bonnie at their office to have Jason call me with a quote for the work without the cost of the compressor unit. It turns out that he did call me back that evening and left a message on my voicemail which I didn't discover until later the next day. In the mean time, the next morning, I called the office and spoke with a man named Farrell. I explained the situation to him and said that I needed a quote for labor and replacing the refrigerant, etc. He said that he'd have Jason call me back. Having received no response, I called the office again at 1:30 that afternoon and Bonnie assured me that she'd have Jason call me. When I got home from work late that afternoon, I found the voicemail Jason left the prior evening stating that the cost of the repair with the part under warranty was the $1800 that he quoted me the day before. I explained that he quoted me that price under the assumption that it was not, in fact, under warranty and that I thought the price should be much lower. He held firm and insisted that the cost of labor and flushing the lines and replacing the coolant added up to that sum. We had a second opinion scheduled that same evening who immediately told me that the compressor would be under warranty and that the whole system didn't need to be replaced. He took the side panels and top off and tested everything with his meter to determine that the compressor was shot. He quoted us a price way below what Fahrenheit Climate Control insisted that the work should cost. He explained that he would get the part from the distributor and that the total for installation would be around $950 depending on the final credited cost of the part under warranty. Jason, Bonnie, the apprentice & Farrell were all very courteous and took a lot of time to answer my questions. The miscommunication with the missed voicemail led to a day's worth of back and forth, but that's my fault. My low rating is based purely on the fact that I was quoted a price for the part not being under warranty but that when I pushed back, they said that wasn't the case. I feel like I was being taken advantage of. I learned a valuable lesson during this process: Ask a ton of questions and do as much research as possible. In doing so, I'm out the $99 that I paid for the service call, but I've saved almost $800. read more

I am sorry I let Rob Harris inside of my home. I am 72 years old and he would have taken advantage of me. He stated my a/c compressor was seized and there was a serious problem with the coil atop my heater. He was like a used car sales man. He started with a price quote of $8,731.00. And after a few minutes of me not taking the offer he tells me that if I would sign on the dotted line while he was standing in front of me there was a coupon offer of $1,200 off. The sales pitch went on and on. Three levels of financing. When that did not work there was $500 off if I was a veteran. On and on. After he left he called back within an hour saying that because it was a holiday weekend coming up and they did not have too many installs at the moment he would further reduce my price by another $500 if he could come back and get my signature. I would not trust Rob Harris, Joe or Matt Lynn (the 3 owners) in my house for any reason. My review was quickly followed by a phone call from the owner Joseph Lynn. We went over what I experienced. My review is not a rant. I was not in the throes of angry temper. Neither did I embellish or misstated the facts. He was willing to lower the price further if I would retract my review. He claimed that a poor review for his company was almost unknown to him. However on Yep I found many 1 and 2 star reviews. That further convinces me that Mr. Lynn and Mr. Harris are disingenuous at best. Mr Lynn's reply to my review should not mislead you. The condition of my equipment is a non issue. It is what he would charge to replace the equipment and his sales methods that are in question. I have saved $4,119 and have comparable equipment. I called Custom Aire Heating and A/C. The salesman did not know that I had a prior bid. He suggested two different units. The up front price without asking for a discount was $4,613. That price compared to the $8,713 offer from Fahrenheit was an easy decision to make. Based on my experience with Fahrenheit and the poor reviews that I have found online I will suggest that the prudent shopper would do well to look elsewhere. read more

I too would love to leave negative stars. Do not use Fahrenheit, ever. They're fraudulent, dishonest, and do not perform anything close to acceptable work. Their most recent fraudulent business practice was sending me an "invoice" for $200. We didn't use them nor did we owe them anything; when I called I was told it was the amount we "would owe" if we chose to purchase an annual service plan. No where on the "invoice" did it say that this was optional or that it was for a renewal--it was purely an attempt to trick customers into paying for something they have no intention of paying for. We got burned by Fahrenheit last year when they charged us $900 to fix a perfectly fine furnace. Our heat was out and Fahrenheit told us that it needed new parts and service, and they assured us that it was 100% the problem with the furnace parts. I asked him specifically to check the gas pressure coming into the house and he assured me the pressure was fine. We accepted, but when the heat didn't go back on (surprise!) they told us to contact our gas company. The original parts were perfectly fine and Fahrenheit refused to issue a refund. PGW came that night and fixed the low pressure gas line which was actually the issue. Stay FAR AWAY from this terrible company. They have poor morals, poor business practices, and they take advantage of consumers. Be aware of any positive reviews online here or elsewhere, they've been known to post fake reviews. I was referred to this company after calling a 4.5 star company that I found on Yelp. I scheduled an appointment for 3pm - 5pm on a Friday. I was told they would call approximately 30 minutes before they arrived. Well at 5pm on a Friday, before I leave the country on Monday for 3 weeks, no one had called or shown up. A call to the company discovered they had entered all of my contact information incorrectly. The were unable to accommodate my weekend schedule and refused to send anyone out today. Now I'm forced to pay emergency rates to get this resolved before I leave Monday morning. Will never call these guys again. read more

Warranty company hooked us up with this company and they came out to fix our AC that would not turn on. It was a simple fix (switch inside unit) and they then suggested that we have the unit cleaned for $58.00. I agreed and made the appointment. I was not at home when the service was performed, my husband was. When I got home, I noticed the bill was for $99.00 and I asked my husband what other service they had performed. Turns out, there was no additional services, that was the price of the cleaning. I called the company to inquire why I was quoted one price and charged another and they told me that $99.00 is their minimum charge. Still not sure why the tech quoted me the price of $58.00. I paid $99.00. WILL NOT USE THEM AGAIN! read more

The absolute worse. We're out $20k and we have to completely replace the system they installed only two years ago. The installation process was rocky -- crews repeatedly late, no apologies from office personnel -- and after installing the units they left large holes in the wall saying we had to call their guy to get it repaired. (Their guy did come out once but was then unreachable.) A few months after installation, there was black mold in our bedroom and not all the units seemed to be working. More holes, more phone calls. We just gave up dealing with them and lived with the new holes and sketchy system until now as we renovate. Contractors telling us now that we'll need to replace everything because of mold in the units. The Carrier warranty is not valid because the installation was done incorrectly. Bennett, you are not alone, and in my opinion, from the experience I had with them, you have reason to think they were trying to take advantage of you. In my case, my hot water was sporadic. Fahrenheit came out and the technician put Joe on the phone to tell me the cost of the spark board repair. He said it would be 1400 dollars. I said "What, 1400 dollars?" and then he said he'd give it to me for the price he charged their customers under contract, 1000 dollars, more or less 1100 with the tax I think it was. I thought to myself, first it's 1400, now a moment later it's 1000, hmmm . . . I was able to get the brother of my usual heating repair technician to come out, since my usual technician was not available. He replaced the board with the actual identical part, rather than just one off of the truck that was not an exact match, and he charged me $350, tax included. It's been a week and the hot water's fine now. I, like you, Bennett, am out for the $99 service call money. I didn't think I should have paid that money, actually, b/c I think the service call fee is based on a good faith estimate. I called them to tell them that and after a heated conversation where Joe wanted to talk at me and not with me, I said I would call him to tell him what I ended up paying. Joe said he didn't give a f#@$%k what I would end up paying, so that was the end of that conversation--I hung up while he was still ranting. If you think it's good business practice trying to get 1400 for a job that my technician did in half an hour (Joe said it would take his guy a couple of hours), then call this company. Another thing that rang a bell with your review was the disparaging of the equipment. He said that my Crown equipment was junk. I've never heard that before from any technician. They all say it's a very good system (after all, it's the Honeywell spark board that went, which presumably could happen on any equipment). Funny thing was, his own technician that was at my house said that he had just put in a Crown for his mother, I think it was, so if it was junk, his own technician apparently disagreed . . . read more

I woke up on a Sunday morning to a broken furnace and a home that was 49 degrees. I called Fahrenheit and Rob, the service manager arrived in less than 90 minutes. He was very professional, honest and upfront about the issues and options we had. Since our furnace was 28 years old (and the replacement parts may or may not have been available and probably would not provide a long term fix), he recommended purchasing a new unit. The price he gave me was very fair and included a warranty and service plan above and beyond (even on our old A/C unit). His installation team was at my house within 90 minutes installing a new unit for me (did I mention this was a Sunday?!?). Kyle and Pete were super nice guys and did a great job installing and cleaning up before they left. I would recommend Fahrenheit to anyone! read more

This review will save you the stress from doing business with Fahrenheit. I contacted Fahrenheit along with 2 other HVAC contractors to get quotes on converting my heating oil furnace over to a high efficiency gas furnace. Rob was the gentleman who came out to quote the job. He appeared to be professional and hunger to get the work asking if I've already received quotes. He asked what dollar amount I was receiving and I gave him the average. He agreed and said he would do what he could to lower the quote to see if he could get my work. After reviewing all the quotes once in with my wife, we decided to go with Fahrenheit and scheduled them for work and signed the contract. The day the technicians arrived, they began to inspect the job to determine the parts they would need. Immediately they got on the phone with Rob and started discussing. I received a call from Rob minutes afterward telling me how he made a big mistake in his quote on the furnace saying he quoted the wrong furnace. The difference was going to be $1900. I told Rob to give me a few minutes to discuss this with my wife. After getting off the phone, I talked with the technicians and asked what was the issue. They said Rob didn't quote running a return, how long the exhaust was going to be, etc. I told them, he told me that he made a mistake on the furnace quote. They laughed and said, this company always does this to customers. The technician then proceeded to tell me they do work on the side and he gave me his contact number. After talking with my wife we were not going to pay the difference since we had a signed contract. I called Rob back and told him this. He said he couldn't honor the contract and so I said he could cancel it. Our deposit was refunded. I then proceeded to contact the next contractor on my list and signed a contract with him. I'd like to start off by saying that I've never felt the need to leave a review but after my experience with this company I feel compelled to warn others to stay away from this company. Everyone we spoke to was rude and unprofessional. We paid $99 for a diagnostic fee that was supposed to go towards the work we agreed to have done on our heater. The only issue is we never received a quote and each time we called to find out when the quote would be sent we are told "soon". It's been three days and when the technician who came to our house, Robert, said he'll email us my husband pointed out that Robert never took down his email address. After 72 hours with no response it has become clear that they were going to collect the $99 diagnostic fee and never follow through on the work. Temperatures with the wind chill have been below zero and with a two year old child in the house, all we asked is for someone to give us a quote and date for when the service will be completed and they couldn't even give us that. read more

I could not be happier with this company. Our 45-year-old heater finally died during the coldest week of the year. Rob came to our house within a matter of hours. He knew what he was talking about, as he was able to provide a temporary fix but we all knew it was time for a replacement. We were given an extremely competitive price and had a team at our house the next morning. The guys were all wearing masks, laid protective coverings, and offered us space heaters upon arrival. They were incredibly professional, communicated with is throughout the entire process, cleaned up beautifully, and we're actually finished a little earlier than anticipated. Worst company ever.! They've been out 3 times so far this month. Detected that a part needed to be replaced but got unit working and did not replace it when it failed 2 more times. Finally yesterday they agreed to replace part for free after I had someone else come out & dispel their argument that it must be because we don't know how to work thermostat! Then this morning when an additional piece was detected as also needing to be replaced said I would have to pay $300 for labor on that part. Or $400 and they would upgrade original one they said would be free. Or I could use a different company but then I would be waiving warranty on other parts! Despite calling me immediately to get my CC info repair man did not start job until 1 1/2 hr later. Incompetent, distrustful and unprofessional is how I would describe them. read more

This will sound like a fake review but it's the real deal. For the second time FAHRENHEIT has proven itself the class act in Philadelphia HVAC. I needed a new unit in a rental apartment. Despite few bumps at the start they got it done promptly, politely and at a fair and competitive price--during a heat wave! Other companies treat you like you are lucky to be get a call back. Chet, Robb and their team treat you like a valued customer! I will always stick with these folks. They actually answer the phone, text back and keep you posted as the job progresses. I've gotta say I was presently surprised with my experience. After doing much research, reading endless reviews, both negative on yelp and a ton of positive on google. Fahrenheit HVAC provided me with both timely and cost effective service. They gave me multiple options on general service and a system upgrade, in the end I didn't feel like there was a hard sell to invest in a new system, they were very detailed and informative. There team arrived on time, worked on schedule and most important they worked clean! I would defiantly recommend them and will continue to use them for all my HVAC service needs. read more

Good, then really bad, then ok. Our furnace kicked on a cold Sunday. Andy the technician came and he was great. Walked me through all my options and exactly what my issue was. Quoted me a great price and we signed an agreement and picked a date. I returned home from work on that date and no new furnace. I called and the office assured me that it was installed. I spoke with a second employee named Bruce who rudely insisted that they did install my furnace. It turned out they installed it... in the wrong house. My neighbor up the street. One owner named Rob called that night, was apologetic, and offered a night in a hotel and a 1 year extension on the warranty. They correctly installed the next day but I didn't know until I came home and inspected myself. No follow-up call. No return of my house key. No, "Hey, your unit is installed. Sorry again about the massive blunder yesterday." I never received paperwork indicating the warranty extension that was promised. Two weeks later, I get a generic survey encouraging me to share my experience online! Ok, if you insist. The paperwork also had two different addresses for my house, maybe part of the incorrect installation. I received a call from their office the same day and the woman who I spoke with was horrified. She was very apologetic and helpful. I got a quick return call from a different owner and a discount on the job, but he was condescending and just seemed to want to get me off the phone. Half my experience was great. Half was terrible. They have some great folks working there but there were just as many who were unprofessional. read more

This company is unprofessional, incredibly offensive, and incompetent. I called them, requested a diagnosis for my nonworking heater. Their guy showed up at my house wearing sweatpants, took a cell phone picture of my heater, and texted someone. He then tells me that I simply have a bad aquastat. I bought a new, $75 aquastat only to find out that my heater doesn't even use an aquastat. Completely wrong diagnosis. I called Fahrenheit back, explained the situation, and the man I spoke to on the phone (Joe) became irate, called me an asshole, and told me he hopes my heater causes my house to blow up! I called back and spoke to Matt. He was completely unapologetic about the entire situation, berated me, and ended with (surprise, surprise), calling me an asshole and hanging up. This company is horrible. DO NOT USE. They came out to look at my heater that wasn't working and after a few mins tried to tell me I needed a new system instead of working on it to fix the problem. When I gave push back on spending 4K on a new heater the man told me his boss would call me. His boss told me on a Saturday that he would send someone out Monday to look at the burners. Well Monday came and went no one showed up or even called to this day. Glad I was able to fix the problems without any money on my own and not have my 3 month on and 3 year old in a freezing house because they don't operate an honest business. Stay away !!! read more

Shady Shady Shady. please buyer beware!!! They are sizing you up before they even get through the door. Technian never even showed. Never called and I even asked for a manager to call me back and...nothing. There's more to the story...I am familiar with HVAC and had a good idea what the issue was. FAHRENHEIT replaced my air conditioner unit,compresser,coils, added new freon. My condo complex was very strict about the specs etc. The inspector was pleased with the clean job they did. The guys were patient with all my crazy questions. They dId a real clean job and everything works fine. They were here three weeks ago. I hope they keep up the good work. read more

My HVAC unit stopped produced heat. Fahrenheit tried to tell me I needed to replace it altogether for $9,000, or at the very least do a temporary $800 repair. They warned me of carbon monoxide poisoning and potential fire if not replaced. They also told me it was installed in 2003. It turned out, after asked previous owner and next estimate company, it was installed in 2014. And, after a much more thorough and professional examination by another company, it only needed a $10 belt replaced. Now working perfectly. Then Fahrenheit's owner called me twice trying to argue they'd simply made a mistake! read more

I would not recommend this company. After a series of mistakes and spending the month of July without AC, the folks at Fahrenheit finally scheduled our install for today (Aug 13) between 9-11am. When they DID NOT show up, we called only to be told they were not coming and it would be 2 MORE WEEKS at the earliest. We are very disappointed with their disregard for customers, complete lack of communication, and poor follow through. read more

WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME. Called for a heating issue, technician arrived and gave me an estimate over the phone of $5,800, he said the system needs to be replaced completely... I asked for a written diagnosis of his visit but never got that. I brought two other technicians, both diagnosed it as a very minor issue and indeed the issue was actually fixed eventually for $200 by a different company, there was no need for a complete system replacement as Fahrenheit almost made me doing, As I've seen in other reviews, many of the 5 stars are due to a discount offered for a good review.
