The best thing in my house is the floor Oh No...someone doesn't like to see my favorite flooring company stays busy..oh well I believe Factory Direct Floor is busy due to its price, service and the most important, nice people who work on this project. Thanks Tom, Teri, Tugs and the helpers. I live in a newer condominium built in 2011, 5800 Third St, San Francisco. Most of the buyers took the basic carpet from the builder instead of the upgraded wood flooring that cost 4-5 time of Factory Direct's prices. Our HOA wasn't easy to work with, it took 3 weeks to get my kitchen cabinets project approved but Factory Direct Floor was on the file with other units they have done before mine, with the completed document required by HOA, Factory Direct's approved for flooring in 2 days by my HOA, but flooring was the last thing to be installed after kitchen..sigh.. Of Course Factory Direct Floor has the proper paperwork, the valid contractor license and the insurance policy that our HOA requests, I had to fill out the HOA paper again with all the document even they were on file already. However, the documents were not the only reason I decided to do business with the Factory Direct. I know for sure the Factory Direct has done at least 4 other units in our building beforr I applied. Jimmy, who has found this wonderful company and became their first customer in the building. Johnathan on the 3/F, Dianna on the 4/F, and Tim I forgot which unit he's at, all of them are very happy with everything includes the price, floor quality, and the installation workmanship. With their referral, I had visited the company twice in order to select and decide on a Hickoy distressed engineer floor from their thousands of items displayed at minimum 45% below other floor stores I found. It came with a lifetime warranty from the brand as well as the workmanship warranty from the store. The installation was just awesome by the crew that did Tim's unit but not other 3 units. I had over ordered a little prepared for some cutting waste so we had 1 full box left at the end of the job and the installers took it back to the warehouse for a full refund no restocking charge or penalty. Hello, half of this review is written on behalf of my brother Ethan ( he does not do online avtivities ) who lives in Berkeley California. He has purchased 1200 square feet of solid premium exotic cherry 3/4 by 5 inch prefinished hardwood floor from Factory Direct Floor in San Leandro 2 years ago and had one of the company installers Baki installed in his new house. Me and my wife saw the floor when we were visiting Ethan's family last Christmas and we both had fell in love with this beautiful and strong floor. Ethan said the material price and the labor charge total was a little over $6200 and the wood has been produced with excellent craftmanship. The Factory Direct Floor installers delivered the wood one week before the installation date and installed them within 5 days with excellent workmanship. The floor is a nicer brand with a 30 years manufacturer warranty and additional workmanship warranty at no additional cost. We have visited Factory Direct Floor while we were in town and have purchased the same floor and required the LTL shipping to our house in Portland Oregan. The company had the floor in stock and had it shipped in one week. We have hired a local Portland installation company to get the flooring installed with Factory Direct Floor's professional recommendation of a longer in room acclimation due to the humidity difference between N California and Portland as well as some detail installation tips. The floor is looking beautiful now and everyone in the house loves it! My wife was looking for a matching transition molding locally because we didn't know we need one at purchasing and she said the price of the flooring we have paid to Factory Direct Floor was about half ( 50%) of the price in a local flooring retailer for the same quality and grade of Cherry. - Ethan & Bryson read more

We bought the European Oak Arizona 8 inch wide planks from Factory Direct Floors in 2016 and hired their installation with a very reasonable rate. The floor turned out to be amazing and every visitor likes it so we did refer a few friends to the company. My painter had damaged 3 planks in the living area during the work last year and of course the repair is not under warranty. I have asked Factory Direct what is the charge to replace the damaged planks and was quoted $1000 minimum due to their in house crews' liability and insurance. I asked my painters who refused to pay for this repair charge. While I was trying to look for a cheaper option, I saw a familiar face showed up at my neighbor's house - Will, the nice gentleman, Factory Direct Floor job manager who has managed my flooring project 2 years ago. I told him the situation and he said yes the minimum job charge on the website always applies but he called the office and got the owner's approval to get mine repaired for free of charge because his crew was working on my neighbor's flooring that week. What an amazing company! Will is a very great manager and floor expert too. After a couple of hours, my damaged floor was replaced and the room was looking great again! Factory Direct Floor installed my condo flooring 6-7 years ago and it was a great experience. I had them again for my new house purchased recently. I purchased the European Oak planks with 4mm wear layer and 7-1/2" high end wood flooring for only $3.99 a ft here. Their prices are unbeatable as I checked everywhere for the same quality Euro oak, they're as low as $5.79 from Amazon and online sites and up to $10 from other flooring retailers. The other amazing thing, just like the other 2 customers reviews mentioned: I had a lot of questions so I frequently emailed their customer service and guess what? They replied within 2-5 minutes even at midnight! It's unbelievable! Some of my questions were not just general but some technical ones like sound proof underlayment rating and planks direction change as well as trims needed. They were all answered quickly! That makes customers like myself feel so confident during a major home remodeling project like this. I wish all other contractors can be the same but it's not easy, normally a few hours before you will hear back from a normal contractor. I was scheduled for installation on 7/12 because they are very busy..I was told all the crews are fully scheduled 1-1/2 months out. My wife and I just bought a beautiful three story Victorian home in SF and needed to have the hardwood floors refinished. I chose the Factory Direct Floor because they had so many great hardwood selections in stock so I thought their refinishing work should be also very professional. They were on time and professional throughout the job of 2900 sf. They completed all three floors and the staircase. The maple staircase was covered in awful brown carpet and the second floor was a mishmash of several carpets that all had to be removed. Underneath the carpet was a decent pine floor but it was painted and needed to be sanded and patched. On the third floor we thought we had hardwood but only had it for about 1/2 the room and that was after extensive patching by the guys. They gave us a great price on doing all the floors and even when we ran into problems (or I made a request for patching etc) they met the challenge and never asked for a penny more than the price they had given me. They moved quickly to accommodate our need for the floors to be done prior to moving in. The manager Kelvin was always available to answer questions and was very responsive to concerns. In the end, the floors came out amazing and are by far the best feature of our new home. I would definitely recommend this business for any wood project. read more

We bought Brazilian Teak there and had the floor installed by the company installers in 2010. The floor looks beautiful and lovely by the way! They are made in Brazil by a good brand Johnson. Factory Direct Floor does carry over thousand of items which are from all over the world all with US brands' product warranty. We are recently moving out of the house to a new house that we just recently purchased so would like to purchase the same wood floor for our new house. There are 1 1/2 boxes of left over wood from our last purchase has been staying in the garage that we decided to keep for future replacement if any planks damaged. Since we have sold the old home and would like to use these 40 square feet for our new house but the company crew said the gloss and color of different shipments could various a little and not recommended to be mixed with the new floor we purchase this time. They have taken the wood back to their warehouse and used for sample production ( they said they need samples for customers ) and exchanged 2 full boxes of the new shipment wood at no charge and free of charge for the sqft difference. I really appreciate this kind of customer service and again the work's done perfectly with the same beautiful Brazilian teak floor at the same low price below the market rates. read more

It's pleasure to work with the team here because they respond to my emails super fast with all the professional answers during my consideration of flooring purchase. I have spent months on researching and found this company the best prices and the largest selection. With the best attitude of their installation guys, I need to say its not just the quality, service, and the best value, but also the pleasure doing business here. They asked me to be one of their references on top of the long list with a couple thousands of names and numbers that I've seen, of course, why not?? The only thing I would say about the inperfection is what the showroom is in this the bid warehouse building with multiple gates without a sign indicating which entry is the showroom. My first visit was on Monday back a few months ago, there were these industrial forklifts running all over this ramp with pallets and pallets of wood inside the warehouse, not a great showing area but I guess this is how industrial dealers are. It will definitely be easier to visit on the weekends but they open shorter hours while the warehouse department is closed on saturdays and sundays. read more

I had my solid Brazilian Cherry floor ( beautiful and super hard ) installed by these guys 4 years ago and found 2 boards went buckled near the patio so I called in for a repair under the warranty. They made an appointment and came in with some extra wood planks to quickly removed the boards but realized there was a water leakage by the patio which has caused the wood buckling due to moisture. Since its not the flooring's fault, I planned to pay them for the visit but the guys had rejected and offered a free repair when they are on a job in the area next time after I get the water leakage taken care of. 2 weeks later, after the water leakage had been fixed, I called the company and told them that how much I appreciate this great service and they sent me another installer the same day afternoon to install the 2 new wood planks. I will tell everyone I know who needs floors about this. This is more than their much lower prices and large wood selections - they take good care of their customers too. read more

I visited the San leandro location on Thursday and a young man, Henry was very helpful in assisting me. I purchased 900 square feet of solid finished cherry for $3.39 a foot. I felt it important to see and feel the wood I was interested in purchasing. I returned on Friday with my husband so he could see the wood too at about 12:00 noon and it was very busy with only two sales associates who were both doing the best they could. My husband liked the teak better and would like to switch the product but we were worried about some restocking fee or product change fee however the manager came out and signed the order form for even exchange no penalty no fee will be applied. How easy and nice working with this business! by the way, I forgot to mention that my sister had referred us here and she was also happy with the flooring she got from here. I believe both of us had saved about 40% of money on the floors compare to the other home remodeling retail stores. read more

I just bought a beautiful hickory engeneered wood floor last weekend and the installers came two days later and worked for 2 days and created an amazing new floor in my living room, downstairs hall way, 14 stairs going up and the upstairs hallway. Alex helped me with the process in the office and he was wonderful. The men that worked on the job Boldo and Nick were also very nice and hard working. They did and excellent job and the new floor is gorgeous. Furthermore, the whole process was pleasant from start to finish. The price is in my opinion, the best in town. I checked out the Floor store and Lumber Liquidators before choosing Factory Direct and I know I saved a lot of money with Factory Direct. Several years ago, we purchased 600 square feet of flooring and installed it ourselves. A few weeks ago the roof leaked and damaged the floor. When we returned to the store offering to buy some more of the flooring they told us that the product we bought had been discontinued. They had no suggestions as to where we might find the particular pattern we needed and were generally unhelpful. A well established store that sells expensive flooring while giving no thought to the possible future need for the product is not doing a good job. We were searching for floors for about 3 weeks for the best deal and found some ok deals but not the color i was looking for just plan b's and c's checked out their site and found the color i loved for even a better price with 2.3 dollar less per s. ft than the previous vendor we found on the same brand of floor. This is definitely not fancy upscaled showroom type of retailer but a large warehouse set up with lots and lots of flooring stock. It's a bit noisy and messy here but hey..nothing can be wrong if you can save a few thousands of dollars for good quality hardwood here.
