On my first visit a few weeks ago, she was so welcoming into her space. We sat down, she asked me about my skin, what I was there for and then went over to the table for her to work her magic. I was there for a mini-facial, but was having an issue with a pimple on my nose, which she attended to with loving care. I have sensitive skin and everything was just right for my skin. At the end of the session she used a device which has an electrical charge to it and takes the bacteria out of your skin, so she used all over my face & in particular the area on my nose making sure everything causing the issue was removed. I also have a 4 year old So coming in is a little treat to myself and I come early and sit in the relaxation room beforehand, in my very soft comfy robe, and I get infused fruity water and I read my book for 30 minutes in silence as a mom, I know everybody knows how powerful that is. They also have a shower so I'm able to use their wonderful scrubby stuff to feel clean before I leave. I have a difficult time walking around for the rest of the day feeling oily. So being able to take a shower after a massage is really nice. So I definitely recommend this spa! They had warm tables and pillows for under your knees for comfort. The facial was amazing and she also did my hands and put them in warming gloves and then did my feet too. This is all just part of the facial. After my appt I was brought back to the relaxation room where I was offered champagne and other options but it was my bday so I went for the champagne. I probably stayed in the room for 40 minutes. The woman who worked in the relaxation room and other areas was so nice I ended up tipping her as well as my facialist. In 2021, I received a chemical peel at this med spa that resulted in a SEVERE chemical burn to my back. The peel was performed by a front desk receptionist who was "in training," not a licensed or certified aesthetic provider. I later learned this occurred because no qualified provider was available at the time, and rather than rescheduling the service, the treatment was performed anyway. I was not informed that the individual performing the treatment was unlicensed, nor was appropriate supervision or medical oversight provided. The result was significant skin injury--second degree burns, as shown in photos taken during my visit at the BURN UNIT. This was not a post-chemical peel reaction -- it was a chemical burn. At the time, I did not fully understand the seriousness of what had occurred. As a nurse working in the field of aesthetics today, I now clearly recognize this as negligence and a breakdown in management, supervision, and patient safety standards. To this day, I'm still baffled by how this was handled afterwards. Beyond the physical injury, the lack of accountability and concern from management/owner during my recovery was deeply upsetting and added to the emotional toll of an already traumatic experience. We booked two appointments at the same time. While in the waiting room, our two masseuses came out to get us. We asked if we could be in the same room. We didn't know there would be a Suprise Upcharge. Yes, we have had couples massages many times over the years. But we got charged a good deal more even though there was nothing special about this. Also, my masseuse was really just rubbing me. She said let me know if you want me to dig deeper. I said yes. After all, I went for a massage, not a rubbing. There was an another Surprise Upcharge! They never mentioned any upcharges at any time. So, we wound up spending $50 more. This is a very sneaky way to do business and we won't be going back.
