In 2021, I received a chemical peel at this med spa that resulted in a SEVERE chemical burn to my back. The peel was performed by a front desk receptionist who was "in training," not a licensed or certified aesthetic provider. I later learned this occurred because no qualified provider was available at the time, and rather than rescheduling the service, the treatment was performed anyway. I was not informed that the individual performing the treatment was unlicensed, nor was appropriate supervision or medical oversight provided. The result was significant skin injury--second degree burns, as shown in photos taken during my visit at the BURN UNIT. This was not a post-chemical peel reaction -- it was a chemical burn. At the time, I did not fully understand the seriousness of what had occurred. As a nurse working in the field of aesthetics today, I now clearly recognize this as negligence and a breakdown in management, supervision, and patient safety standards. To this day, I'm still baffled by how this was handled afterwards. Beyond the physical injury, the lack of accountability and concern from management/owner during my recovery was deeply upsetting and added to the emotional toll of an already traumatic experience. I did end up purchasing the ultra moisturizer because it is rare I find one that does not turn my cheeks red.

Three things were done incorrectly. 1. No preparation was made to the skin prior to the surgery. No scrub or alcohol, etcetera. 2. Due to the lack of preparation, the steri strips did not adhere to my skin. 3. The technician failed to use a large enough clear cover over the steri strips, so when the steri strips detached, so did the covering. See attached image. I have been coming to see Lacy monthly for Dermaplaning for over a year and I adore her. Initially, I had my first Dermaplaning service with someone else (maybe Brenda?) but I am so glad she was no longer available and I somehow wound up with Lacy. Lacy has paid attention to details on my skin during our visits and also gives me accurate treatment care for in between services. I have come once for my annual skin check here in 2023 and saw Brooklyn. She was great and answered any questions I had, as well as giving me recommendations. I am coming up on my annual skin check so fingers crossed! Everyone here is extremely professional. The office is always clean. Even the waiting room is super cozy! So I went to them so I could be discuss being immediately treated by the plastic surgeon doctor after Mohs cancer removal was completed if necessary . Naturally, I was anxious and upset at the possibility of losing much of my nose. Dr. Blossom was abrupt, uncaring, rough when removing the scab from previous biopsy. She was shaming, demeaning, and lacked any desire to provide info or consult on choices, Mohs routine procedures, who was doing the surgery, who would do rebuild, and would I have anesthesia or medication to relieve anxiety. What I couldn't think of to ask her, she did not share. Abruptly she left the room stating I needed immediate surgery. Bye. I was rattled. Scheduled surgery, then regrouped and called the office manager, who was wonderful and caring and explained everything the doctor should have shared. At this point, I'm not sure what I'm going to do or what Dr I'm going to use, but I can tell you for sure it won't be Dr. Blossom. She is a young Doctor Who is absolutely full of self importance and insensitive to the anxiety and discomfort of a patient. Never again. I also have to say, it could just Have been just that day, but the check-in procedure was tedious and lengthy. Since I was just going for a consult and had not made any decision about using the doctor or not, I was required to fill out 10 pages of patient information before I could get in. Kind of a waste of time since I will not be back.
