Every location appears to operate in its own little world, yet somehow the experience feels the same: collect the money first, and whether the customer is actually satisfied seems secondary. I made a last-minute appointment as a NEW CLIENT and was genuinely excited to come in. Unfortunately, I had an unexpected emergency and temporarily had no access to my phone, so I had absolutely no way to contact the location. Despite explaining what happened, the location still charged me the full amount with what felt like zero empathy, flexibility, or consideration for the circumstances. What is most disheartening is the lack of basic humanization in situations like this. Policies are policies, but there is still room for judgment, compassion, and understanding, especially when dealing with a brand-new customer experiencing a legitimate unforeseen emergency. Instead, I was left feeling like I was simply another transaction. Customers come and go, and apparently losing one does not matter very much. Sometimes things happen that we genuinely cannot control. Unfortunately, with policies like this, the company wins and the customer loses every time. My advice is to think carefully before investing your money here. Massage Envy is far from the only option available, and they certainly are not the last bottle of water in the desert.
