Within 2 days I was off Tylenol and making my own lunch, watching movies and even did some laundry. Within two weeks I was out and about looking and feeling great. It has now been 3 months, there are no traces of having had surgery. I look rested, years younger but not obvious or pulled. These comments felt inappropriate and made me feel pressured and insecure rather than supported. Overall, I felt that he did not listen to my goals or respect my boundaries. I booked this consultation specifically because of his advertised experience with endoscopic transaxillary cases and made my preferences very clear, yet I felt pushed toward a procedure I did not want. I would not trust this doctor and would recommend finding a surgeon who truly listens and has experience in the specific approach you're looking for. When I finally met Dr. Reid, I expected an open, collaborative conversation. Instead, most of the time was spent listening to him discuss his publications and accomplishments. I respect medical expertise deeply, but what I needed was empathy, support, and someone who would listen to my concerns and goals. Even more troubling were the casual and insensitive references to my anatomy. This kind of language is jarring and inappropriate when you're sitting in a vulnerable position, talking about reconstructing your body after cancer. To other patients: Please know you have options.
