Lisa Cadiente is absolutely amazing. She's classy and so much fun. She is professional, talented, dedicated and I trust her with anyone I have ever referred her to. Her skill is cutting edge and she is very knowledgeable and exceptionally artistic! Lisa is the only one I would trust with my friends and family. I have dangerously sensitive skin and with a very rare skin autoimmune disorder. I can't afford contamination, a mistake or allergic reaction of any kind. I could be hospitalized for a long time. I told her my condition and concerns when I first went to her. I've always scared off every one else but Lisa went the distance just for me! She consulted with my dermatologist and did lots of research on the illness on her own time! To those I've referred, they have always returned and said thank you so much for referring her to them. I have been to Lisa at Faces for probably half a dozen bikini waxes. I absolutely love the wax job and I think Lisa is professional, and friendly. She does a great job with the waxing, I've never seen her do anything I felt was unhygienic. She uses a great wax which she puts on with a tongue depressor, and cotton strips to pull off the wax and your hair. My bikini line looks and feels amazing. I would definitely go back for another waxing, and a facial too. Lisa does a great job. and duh, to the person who said that the person who waxed her did not use gloves: The esthetician cannot use gloves to do the job -- the gloves will stick to the wax and your hair and the whole process would be an uncomfortable mess. I have never seen an esthetician do a bikini wax with gloves on. They wash their hands (as did Lisa) before and after which is how one maintains hygiene. read more

So I have to spread the word about Faces Salon. I'm a regular client of Lisa's and I've been going to her for about 2 years now and let me tell you.... Faces Salon will not disappoint you. The Salon is super cute and after you arrive Lisa always greets you and makes you feel right at home. She'll always offer you something to drink like coffee, sparkling water or tea. I go to Lisa at Faces for her Brazilian wax, and also her Facials. Lisa always makes the waxing experience very pleasant and at ease. I loved my facial. An hour and a half of pure pleasure. First Lisa asked me questions about my routine with skin care. She made some notes and told my about my skin type and the reason for my breakouts in the problem areas. She gave me some solutions for products to help improve the look of my skin. I wanted my skin to improve and mostly wanted some time to relax. Her hands were heated and healing. She cleaned my skin and removed dead cells, blackheads and clogs. My skin was glowing! I asked Lisa where she went to school and was surprised to learn she studied in Europe. I'm very impressed by Lisa and her professionalism. My faces, neck shoulders and feet were like jello. To comment on the "double dipping" complaint, they've done this at every waxing salon I've been to and I've had no problems at all. Lisa is THE BEST waxer I have ever had, and unfortunately I don't live in the area anymore so I now have to accept just satisfactory work. But if I know I'll be going to the santa cruz area, I will totally wait to get waxed by Lisa. She is so unbelievably thorough, there are never any "neighbors" left behind. She makes me totally comfortable and waxing can be a pretty uncomfortable experience. It's almost a shame that my first wax ever was from her because I am unsatisfied anytime I go to anyone else. This is the only place I will go in all of Santa Cruz to get a bikini was. Lisa is fabulous! I have been to see her MANY times and not once did I ever see her double dip the wax, she does use both ends of the stick but that's just practical not unsanitary. She is very professional but knows how to put you at ease, she's been doing this for a very long time. She also has a special homemade aloe lotion she puts on afterwards, amazing stuff! Also, just a side note, I've been waxing for years and I have never seen a waxer use gloves, it just gets too messy with the wax and the gloves. As long as they wash their hands before, it's still sanitary. Lisa is very quick and reasonably priced. I won't go anywhere else. She can usually fit you in, in the same day! read more

I have been going to Lisa for years to have my eyebrows done, and a recent experience compelled me to write this review. I went to an event at Nordstrom's in SF, the national makeup artist for Chanel was doing makeup consultations. If you've ever had your makeup done at a counter like that, you know they put a ton of makeup on you, and find a product for every part of your face. Well, this famous and talented makeup artist took a look at my face and said, "Your eyebrows are fabulous, no need to do anything to them." I replied, "That's why no one touches my eyebrows but Lisa." Her skill and perfectionist approach are unparalleled. I'm a huge fan of Faces Salon and have been getting facials and waxings from Lisa for almost 20 years. I moved here from New York City in the early '90's and was looking for a facialist that matched the level of service I was used to getting from Barney's and Bergdorf Goodman and was disappointed that no one met my standards ....until I met Lisa. When I leave her salon I feel like a new person. My skin is fresh, clean and gorgeous and I'm so relaxed. It is well worth every penny I pay her. Lisa is amazing. My friends and I refer to her as the eyebrow guru. She has never let me down. I've been going to see her for at least 10 years now. This is not one of those ridiculous places that takes you into the back room lit with low mood lights and playing soft meditation music. I mean honestly what is relaxing about a waxing? Please. Lisa makes you feel very comfortable, sits you in a chair, chatting conversationally as she works her guru magic. It is quick, relatively painless, and she even puts on cover up so that when I leave I don't look like I was accosted with hot wax. Lisa is truly a make-up artist in the real sense. My eyebrows are notoriously difficult to wax into a good shape. Most estheticians need to tweeze for 20 minutes after the initial waxing to shape them. I was referred to Lisa from a good friend. She had me looking like a movie star in 10 minutes with no tweezing. It's because she knows what's she's doing. I loved my eyebrows so much I scheduled a make-up lesson. Lisa knew my style exactly without me having to tell her. She made me fall in love with make-up all over again. She knows exactly how to match make-up not just to the skin tone, but to the personality of the user. Lisa is professional, clean, very well-informed, and extremely thorough. -You will not leave disappointed; if you see any stray hairs at all at the end, she has no problem taking the time to get rid of them. -She DOES NOT DOUBLE DIP; I've watched her many a time and never has she done this. If you're afraid of diseases being passed this way, you ought to better inform yourself, but regardless, she is careful to not do double dip. -Her prices are extremely fair -Did I mention thorough!? Faces and Lisa are awesome. Lisa did my first bikini wax. I was so nervous but she put me at ease and talked me through all the way. I don't think I could go through it with any other esthetician. Lisa also tames my crazy eyebrows. She always sooths my skin with her awesome aloe lotion and uses her wonderful cover up with sunscreen on my skin before I leave. My 94 year old mother went to Faces to have Ricardo perm her hair. Lisa and Ricardo made her feel like the Princess she was. My wax experience with Lisa was the first time I ever had a bikini wax. She was thorough and extremely patient. She explained every step and educated me about the growth cycles of the hair. I was apprehensive at first, but felt calm and in good experienced hands. It wasn't painless but it's like a band aid being pulled off and then it's over. The result was smooth and soft skin. Lisa did a great job! I've been looking for a good waxer in Santa Cruz for over a year. She made me feel completely comfortable. When she brought me into the room, she allowed me to undress by myself. Other waxers I've gone to will watch me and laugh at me if I ask them to turn around. Also, she used strip wax and not the blue wax, which I thinks works much better. It was probably the least painful wax I've ever gotten. It was also really fast. I got a brazilian done in 20 minutes! Although a bit pricey, I want to go back. I just hope my budget can allow it! read more
