Great place. Mundi was the first to give me my first Brazilian after being reccomended by my best friend. Mind you, for first timers, this experience can be very daunting. Mundi is very nice however the facial I received was a bit perfunctory and the extractions minimal. Once in the chair and under the magnified mirror, no useful information was given about skin care. Usually some kind of individualized skin regimen or care instructions are recommended based on one's skin issues. Also, if you're looking for a relaxing spa/facial experience, this isn't it. I was dismayed that during the period I was left alone to "relax" to soothing music, all I could hear was someone having a loud conversation into her phone. I have now been getting facials from Mundi for 7 years. I always get facials from resorts and spas when I travel, and Mundi is as good if not better than others. And- her prices are incredibly competitive. I really appreciate Mundi's in depth knowledge and her continuing education in the latest effective techniques and procedures. I LOVE the privacy of the Face Forward studio and enjoy the peace and quiet. I don't enjoy listening to other spa-goers receive treatments at other facilities. I always come away completely relaxed and with renewed skin when I leave Mundi. I have read some of the other odd reviews and I am bewildered by them. Prices at Face Forward are clearly posted, why would anyone think that they are negotiable? No high service establishment that I have ever been to negotiates price, nor should they be expected to. And just because a service provider won't change their pricing, doesn't mean someone should be passive-aggressive and try to slam them. If I can't afford a certain service, I don't request that service. Seems like a no-brainer to me. Part of working with service professionals is letting them know what works and what doesn't. They aren't mind readers. Every time I have made a request, Mundi is quick and happy to accommodate me. Bottom line - Mundi is very professional, knows and cares about her business. I agree with the other reviewers when they say that Mundi is very knowledgeable, open, honest, and accommodating. She doesn't push you to buy products from her and she only recommends treatments that your skin actually needs. She does not ask you to do extra/add-on treatments (to make extra money) if your skin does not truly need it. I appreciate that because there's no pressure and you can just come in and know that you're not getting taken advantage of. I've been going to Mundi for about 8 years. I went to her because of severe hyper-pigmentation. What impresses me is the meticulous research she does on her products and equipment to make sure her customers have the most effective skin care possible. I know you don't need to be a rocket scientist to be an aesthetician, but I appreciate her zest for knowledge and interest in the science in an industry that has so much fluff. Thanks to her, my hyper-pigmentation is no longer a concern. I'm even getting compliments on my skin! Always having her customer's best interests in mind, she continuously reminds me to use sun screen and wide brim hats to minimize the impact of sun damage. I especially like the LED treatments - something not available with most other aestheticians. Also there are tons of skin care products out there and they all claim to do wonders for my face. I know when I use products Mundi recommends, they will be effective since she knows their active ingredients. This helps avoid paying for stuff that doesn't work - or worse still, causes problems with my skin! Mundi always makes me feel welcome and comfortable - it's nice to be able to enjoy some peace and quiet in the treatment room before heading back to work. What a find Face Forward is, and Mundi is a treasure! I had not had a facial in over a year thanks to a not so good esthetician who was only interested in selling her French products. Mundi never falls for the "latest and greatest" and never offers the most popular item of any treatment until she's had a chance to study all the scientific material to confirm that the information in the glossy brochure is based in actual science and not just a sales pitch. Mundi is amazing and saved my skin!!! After i had gotten a bad chemical peel at a "cheap" place my friend, who saw my acid burned skin, recommended Face Forward Skin Care to me. I was very very skeptical after this experience but Mundi at Face Forward Skincare really saved my skin!!! She is very knowledgeable and after a detailed examination of the skin she starts the sessions targeted on each individual problem. I have had acne prone skin ever since my teenage years, but Mundi really helped me to minimize it. Mundi and Face Forward Skin Care break the yelp star chart! I missed an appointment - and cried over it - she is that good! Being of "that" age (you know that age where you have been counting birthdays backwards for about 10 years) Mundi has helped my skin, provided insights to how to use the products, and the products do everything she tells you they will. I worked a 16 hour shift and after about 4 hours of sleep had to go back to work. My coworker could not believe how great I looked - and after my 12 shift he said I still looked great - with no makeup! Just sunscreen (Mundi's of course!). Go for the light treatment - and the lactic acid peel. She did my daughter's eyebrows for her wedding - and perfect! I have moved out of state - but will be flying over to see Mundi. I recently had a basic bikini wax here and it was pretty bad. The owner of the salon, Mundi, didn't double dip, so that was good, but she also missed hairs and most of the hairs broke off rather than pulled out. I didn't get a Brazilian, so there was a stretch of hair left in the middle, but it was totally lopsided and uneven when comparing one side to the other. I had to pluck a bunch when I got home and I had regrowth within a few days. Although Mundi's salon is very cute and clean and she is very professional and makes you feel very comfortable, I would not go to her again for a bikini wax. read more

First and foremost Mundi is a consummate professional and completely dedicated to her craft and practice. I have been seeing Mundi for 1 and 1/2 years, now. When I first went to her for the severe acne that no one else could do anything for, I kept my expectations in check. Mundi sat down and took a great deal of time to truly understand not only what I was presenting with in terms of outbreak and scarring, she also wanted to know everything that I had tried in the past, my daily habits, my makeup and so on. She was very empathetic to my self-consciousness which at times kept me from leaving the house in spite of my "get over it" self-talk. I would catch people staring at it and do my best to ignore how it made me feel. At any rate, I was now in my 40's and at my wit's end with the "hormonal acne" (as my G.P. put it), having written off the notion of it ever improving, when my friend referred me to Miss Mundi. Mundi Pena has gone ABOVE AND BEYOND in her efforts to find me the right peels, daily cleansing regimen and so many other things! She is nothing if not accommodating!! She told me right off that she wasn't even sure that she could help me. BUT SHE HAS DONE EXACTLY THAT!! I am SO tickled to report that through her efforts, extensive on-going research on my behalf and TLC to my skin, my face is in an ENTIRELY different place. I still have random blemishes but NOTHING like what I internally referred to as my "acne beard"! I am thoroughly pleased and continue to regain confidence in my appearance. I went to get rid of my blemishes. Mundi is very thorough and knowledgeable about skin structure and skin care. She understands the process very well and can give you great images to understand how your skin functions. She recommended the microdermabrasion package which was on sale at the time I purchased it. Mundi is a an extremely knowledgeable and consummate professional. She performs a thorough analysis of your skin and makes recommendations based on your goals and budget. I'm a male, age 54, and wanted a treatment to help firm/rejuvenate my face. She suggested a series of treatments using the new LED light technology. She told me it would be painless ( which it was ) with no downtime ( which there wasn't ). I was a bit skeptical that something so effortless would yield the results I was seeking. After 5 or 6 treatments I couldn't believe the transformation ! Sagging neck skin firmed and tightened and jawline well-defined again like in my 20's/30's. My overall face was also firmer and redness reduced. As it was explained to me by Mundi, the LED light treatments help to stimulate more collagen production under the skin which is something we lose as we age, making our face lose the ":roundness" which is more present in youth. For me, the LED treatments really worked as the before and after pictures she took of me make clear. However, you do need to commit to an initial series of 5 to 10 sessions to get the results you're seeking, with a maintenance treatment afterward every 30 days or so. But, all very affordable compared to most skincare antiaging treatments. Her facility is also very pleasant and comfortable without being too "fussy" or "foo-foo", a relaxed and professional environment. I give Face Forward my highest recommendation ! read more
