I have been going to Face & Body in both Brentwood and Chesterfield location for years. Allison (massage therapy) is excellent in the Chesterfield location as is Sue in the Brentwood location. Facial itself was nice, but I was upsold immediately during the consultation...the facial I booked just "a placeholder." Lots of focus on trying to sell me product at the end. Perhaps the biggest disappointment was the general service/ambiance of the spa. It was my first visit so I arrived early in case there were forms to complete or, like some places, a foot soak etc. The people at the desk completely ignored me--zero welcome--and talked to each other...then my appointment started 15 minutes late. Since my appt was moved through multiple salons, I am not sure which to review, so I'll post this here... I used to absolutely love this spa/salon. Since they opened a million locations the quality has plummeted. (Note: I was informed there are no new locations; however, since I started about 15 years ago, there are) For my most recent (laser cleanup) appointment, I had a horrible experience... I received FIVE phone calls over the course of weeks leading up to my appt asking me to reschedule. And I'm not talking 5 calls because they couldn't reach me! Nope. I called back each and every time to acquiesce to their ever-increasing demands- up until the last call, which came a day before my (rescheduled, rescheduled, rescheduled) appt. I couldn't return that one in time. My mind was truly boggled at how --even after I expressed consternation that any business could be run this poorly and treat customers this badly -- the calls just kept coming. How hard is it to offer someone an appt time and stick to it? My dentist, doctor, OB, allergy specialist, hair stylist, and mechanic do it all the time. I want to also note here that every tech I've ever worked with has been truly lovely (including this last time)! It is the lack of organization and customer care that is troubling. **** As an update to my review 12/01/24**** The owner, Jenna, reached out to me, with the same message she has posted below. I'm an Elite member at Face and Body Chesterfield, so one service is included per month. I alternate Facial and Massage. I've been seeing Jana for facials for over 10 years. She's a creative and talented aesthetician, she always offers the very latest in skin care products and techniques. The atmosphere in her room is serene and peaceful. My skin has never looked better! Highly recommend! For massage, Sokol is second to none! I've been seeing him for over a year now. He has an extensive background in physical therapy so he can do a "medical" massage as well as regular Swedish massage. He applies his PT expertise to targeted problem areas and thoroughly explains the problem. He has helped my shoulder issue tremendously since I've been seeing him. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing, and I look forward to my massage every other month. I just wish he worked more often than Fridays and Saturdays. Highly recommend! I feel like what happened to me today was scammy at best. I purchased a Groupon for a chemical peel with a value of $150. At checkout, I pulled the services menu from the counter and could not find a chemical peel with this value. The closest was $84+ (no one could tell me what "+" means, but its on ALL of their pricing. ) They then proceeded to tell me that it's "the medical grade chemical peel" but could not show me on the menu WHICH ONE it was. They also told me, "The pricing on the menu is not completely accurate," Really??? They even tried to tell me that my Groupon did not "look right" even though I showed them through the app. There is NO chemical peel on their menu even close to a $150 value. I left not know which peel I actually got!!! Power? Detox? Glycolic? Mystery? Elmer's glue? This is completely scammy and bait and switch. They obviously have a lot of issues. I was at the front desk for a while trying to figure this all out. I gave up. They just kept repeating themselves over and over again with nothing answer. While I was there, the manager was discussing a story of another unhappy customer. Then the owner (assuming) came in, and she was discussing yet a 3rd unhappy customer (3 different issues). My aesthetician was AWESOME Her name was Lori. Highly recommend her. She was very nice and explained everything to me about peels in general because it had been awhile, and made sure I understood everything about aftercare. Glad I ended up with her because the spa also nonchalantly and unapologetically rescheduled ME THREE times over a 3 week period before finally getting me in. They even rescheduled me this morning. Sorry to say my experience was not so good. Ashley is a wonderful contributor to the establishment- However I made an appointment at least five weeks out for a facial and Swedish massage with Ashley. After returning from a transatlantic flight I undersood I was reserving a massage with the person I was familiar with. Not so. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone. They booked my massage with someone unknown to me but also refused to be Agreeableto a resolution to the situation. I find it extremely offensive. Forced me to have a massage - with a person I did not know and refused to make it right. Good luck to this establishment to be so offensive to a good customer and not try to work out a resolution to a simple problem. There are a lot of places one can become a patron who holds reliable people close. Unfortunately I was accused of extorting money. I don't think I've ever had such a bad experience at a salon than I had at The Face and Body Spa & Salon of Chesterfield. I was extremely unsatisfied with the way my hair color turned out (stylist insisted on root touch up at a much darker color than the rest of my hair. I was hesitant yo begin with and asked what if I'm not happy with the way it turned out and said I would trust the stylist, Bailey. I left when the device was completed and started noticing how starkly different the color was when I was at home and out in the light. My husband and many noticed it. There was a huge difference between the new color on my roots and the rest of my hair. Very visible. Had many people ask me what I did to my hair. I called in to see what could be done to fix it and expressed how bad it was and how unhappy I was. Color was done on 7/5 called in at 9 am 7/6 and expressed how unhappy I was with the results. Stylist was supposed to call me back, never did. I called back at 3 and she had left for the day. After I explained for a 2nd time my total dissatisfaction , Tommie, the attendant on the phone said she had a 1 1/2 hr slot open at 12:30 on Sunday 7/7 and if I could come in to get it corrected. He marked it as a color correction. I went in today 7/7 and waited until 1pm in the lobby. 1/2 hr later. Bailey was visibly upset that I was back and proceeded to tell me all the reasons why she was right and I was wrong and that to correct my color she would have to do highlights and it would cost me $105. I indicated I would not pay 105 for a color correction And that I shouldn't be paying anything since the results of the color were so visibly bad. She proceeded to explain why she as "my stylist" was right and I was wrong. She eventually said ok after I told her I was the customer when she was telling me to listen to her reason and it was not a happy agreement. I wish I would have taken a picture of my hair to send to you. Not a word was spoken after she started to prepare the mixture and put the highlights in, to correct her mistake. No apologies. No, don't worry I'll fix this, no sense of customer service at all. She was visibly upset with me throughout the whole service. When she washed my hair the water was cold and I expressed that and she proceeded to tell me "it takes a minute to get warm". On the 5th she made sure the water was not col or hot. Total and visible and physical difference and attitude when she was doing the correction. I said thank you multiple times and not once did she apologize thru out the 1 hr and 45 minutes. While applying the color she was rough, I dared not say a word since I feared my hair would turn out worse, which was evident could have been the case as noted when I went to get my hair washed in a cold water blast. Drying my hair she pulled so hard that I left with a headache. I will never ever go back there. I will tell everyone about my experience with Bailey and hope that others will head my warnings. read more

Had a nice spa day until the end. Manager was very rude when asked about their gift card policy, which apparently expires after a year. I can't get over how rude Jenna, the manager or store owner, was. Enough that I will not go back even though certain personnel were great. When you receive a gift card, an actual expiration date should be written on it. But when you receive the card as, well, a gift, how are you supposed to know the purchase date?? I frequent The Face and the Body in Brentwood about every 6 weeks. The staff is amazing. When I arrive for my appointment I'm always greeted with a smile. The services I receive are top notch. My esthetician, Donna, does excellent work. She explains every aspect of the procedure while she is working. I appreciate how she keeps up with the trends for skin care products that would be best for my skin. When it's time to checkout the front desk employees couldn't be nicer. read more

This was the 2nd time in a few months I used a gift card and had a massage which was mediocre at best. Both times I was barely acknowledged both before and after the service. The second time I was told my gift card had a zero balance. I had to ask several questions before the other receptionist commented and told me their gift cards expire after one year. I get a lot of gift cards, never have I had one that was only good for a year. Perhaps a nicer attitude would have softened the blow but they obviously do not care. I will stick with the friendly people at my local Massage Envy and certainly will never buy gifts cards for friends & family there. read more

I was looking for a place to get a massage. I had tweaked my lower back a few days ago and found my gift cards from my family they had purchased from The F & B. Called and talked to a very nice woman, Beverly, who advised they were full this weekend, but she would put me on the waitlist. She called a few days later advising me Gary had a spot open, so I took it immediately. Boy am I glad I did! Gary is a magician!! I've had plenty of massages in my day. And while a majority of them were great, Gary's was the best. He wasn't your average masseuse, going thru the motions (15 min right side; 15 min left side, etc). He took time on the part of my back that was sore and I walked out of there feeling like a million bucks. The ladies at the front desk were very nice and welcoming. My stepdad treated my mom and myself to a mini-spa day here. We both got mani/pedis. She recently had surgery so we definitely needed some bonding time. The inside is very nice and the staff is very friendly. They do a great job of maintaining a relaxing, soothing environment. My nail tech, Romi, was extremely nice and thorough. She had the tough job of removing glitter gel from my toes and while it was a tough job, she was patient and didn't get frustrated. A couple of suggestions: My mother booked our appointments together, yet we were seated one chair apart during our pedicures (they did move us when we asked) and across the room from each other during our manicures. I've encountered this problem a number of times in salons and I don't understand why it's always an issue. After leaving, I realized Romi was a bit aggressive with the cuticle removal as I have a couple of cuts. All in all, it was a nice experience and my mom and I very much enjoyed our time together. read more

My appointment was at 3:30 with Elke and I reached the spa around 3:15. I walked to the lady at the front desk to check-in and told her I had an appointment at 3:30 with Elke. She said "we have you down at 3:45" to which I responded that I got an automated text confirming my appointment at 3:30. She asked me to have a seat and wait for the provider. A lady that was waiting along with me was taken for her appointment by the same provider (Elke) at 3:30. This was actually my appointment but someone else was taken in instead of me. I still keep waiting and another lady walks in with her daughter to check-in for her appointment at 3:45 with Elke (same provider). The lady at the front desk asked me with a puzzled look on her face if I had an appointment with Elke and asked me to confirm the time again. I showed her the confirmation text I got from them and that I had responded back with a "yes" to confirm. She went inside to check with the provider and came back and told me that they will have to reschedule me since my appointment was canceled. She then proceeded to check-in the daughter that came in with the second lady and took her back for the appointment with Elke. I don't understand how my appointment got magically canceled when she told me that I was all checked in a few min ago. She apologized to me and rescheduled my appointment but wasn't able to answer why my appointment was canceled. I find this behavior very unprofessional. How can a confirmed appointment get magically canceled? If it was truly canceled why wasn't that communicated to me the moment I walked in? read more

I had a wonderful facial with Sara yesterday. She was very thorough. I scheduled three more appointments with her. After my facial, I had an appointment with Gabby for Botox. I was very disappointed when after my facial they told me Gabby was at the Brentwood location and could not do it yesterday. I had to reschedule it for next week. I will no longer be supporting the Face & Body or recommending. I have used their services for several years but today's interaction and experience put an end to that. I had an appointment for a facial Mon, 9/13. I started feeling ill the night prior to my appointment with fever and body aches and therefore attempted to cancel my appointment that evening 9/12. I called the OFallon number. The recording gives the hours and hangs up. There is no option to leave a message/vm. I then attempted to see if I could cancel through text- but that is not an option either. I called the next morning prior to 10am (their open time)- Still no way to leave vm- gives hours and hangs up. So I waited until they opened at 10 and called back- no answer x2. Then I called back about 20 minutes into my appointment time (11am) and explained to Corine the situation. Her response was a a weak "okay?". End of conversation. Two days later I noticed a withdrawal from my bank for $118 from the Face & Body. I called and explained the situation to the front desk (ofallon) on 9/15. The young lady sounded very confused and wasn't able to help. She said she'd leave my name and number and have the manager return my call. It is now Sunday 9/19 and I never received a call back from the manager and my account has not been refunded. I call the store back again and get transferred to Corine whom I spoke with Monday to cancel (apparently the store manager). Who states she remembers our conversation/situation. She claims she told me there was a 24 hour cancellation policy (which she did not) and goes on to explain that this policy has been in place for years so if I'm a regular customer I should know this (poor customer service). Then when I remind her of the lack of communication skills on Monday during our "talk" (when all she responded was "okay")- she responded to this with "sure". Someone has obviously failed communications 101. Corine confirms I will not be getting my money back and the only reason they wouldn't charge me is if I was sick. I WAS SICK (which I explained to her on Monday). She tells me I can talk to her manager. I'm given information to call the manager at the Brentwood store (Christine). I immediately call Christine and once again explain the entire situation and how I've been charged $118 for a service I didn't get and that I did all that I could to try and cancel in as timely of a manner I was allotted. She apologized and said she would have to talk to Corine because she didn't know anything about the instance (even though I called several times and left a message to get a call back from a manager 4 days ago). Christine and Corine talk and I receive a call back from Christine informing me that they will not be refunding my money because even though I was sick, 1. I could have left a message (again, there was no way to leave a message during closed hours- I have confirmed this since and had other people listen to it as well- it gives business hours and hangs up). 2. The policy has been in place for a long time and is there to protect their workers (Hmmmm- What protects your customers? Poor customer service) Christine tells me the only thing she can do is escalate to the owner. I responded "yes please give me the owners information so I can speak with them." She informs me she cannot do that and that I will not be personally speaking with the owner and that she will talk to the owner on my behalf (I wonder how that will turn out). I'm just left in disbelief at the poor communication, repulsive customer service, and apathetic attitude by this management. For future reference, with such a rigid cancellation policy that involves taking large chunks of money from people because you keep their card on file, you should make it as easy as possible to cancel! Meaning in your reminder text, perhaps place a cancellation link or button. I hope you all enjoy the $118 you took from me (and my family) because that is the last money you'll be getting from me. I will be placing this review in as many places I can...there were other ways to handle this and still make sure your employee AND customer were taken care of. read more

I will no longer be using the Face and Body O'Fallon location. The service at the front desk is unsatisfactory. In the past I have put up with the front desk seeming to be an endless turnstile of new trainees, a new face every time, new issues everytime. However, I'm done after showing up for a scheduled massage only to find out they did not have my previously requested female technician. Three women at the desk tonight and not one said " we're sorry". All I got was "we don't have a female massage person working at this location". I understood that because, when I made the appointment the person making my reservation said she would arrange for a woman from another location to come to O'Fallon. The technicians have always provided great service, but I just can't deal with the constant confusion at the front desk. I've yet to decide if I will give another location a try. read more

I went to get my grey covered left with stainless steel colored roots and that was by their master stylist my hair then on top of that when I went to get it fixed they booked me at the same time the woman that did this to my hair worked . Then I was told that I was rude to the staff and that they were fitting me in . It's like a sweat shop not a spa and when the salon manger approach me to accuse me she did not ask to do it privately she did it in front of all the clients. The Real master stylist I went to fixed it but it was a chemical burn . Lost my hair in places. The facials were great but Kazue master stylist was awful...if you want broken off hair and grey roots you will love her. And fitting you in means you are subject to being left with color on your roots too long. read more

My therapist was incredible and very sweet! I got a hot stone massage and it was worth the extra money! The only thing was the rooms could have been better sound proofed, I could hear everyone outside chatting away during my massage. It was also a little colder than I would have liked in the room. I really like this spa - I've never had a bad experience here. Not even a mediocre experience! I've been here mostly for massages, but for pedicures and waxes, too. The atmosphere is nice, relaxing, quiet. The massage rooms are always warm, comfortable and soothing. Sights, sounds and smells are very lovely. If you go for a massage, I highly suggest booking it with massage therapist Kathleen Peterson. She is amazing - I've used many different massage therapists before and in my opinion, she is the best. She doesn't make you feel like you have to talk, and she really knows how to focus on the areas you need worked out. She uses a combination of techniques in her Swedish massage that just feel soooo good. Last night, I slept like a rock. Today, I feel straight and tall, and I couldn't be in a better mood. I am always happy with the services I receive and the price points are very reasonable. I've gotten laser hair on my legs and am doing Underarms now bc of the great results from the laser they use. I've been happy with the spa rewards program and plan on getting my Botox here (tad less per unit than Aurora). Just had a Vitamin C facial with Coleen and it was soooo good. She is really good! The only reason for the 4 instead of 5 stars, there is one receptionist who I just can't get past. She is rude and somewhat confrontational (bitchy) and I just can't understand it or get past it. Went there for a massage, I got a groupon actually. I am always a little skeptical when carrying a groupon but they accepted it just fine. The masseur was very professional duly noted my requirement, kept taking feedback. I had paid for a Swedish massage but he upgraded me to a deep tissue which was nice. The place was very hygienic and well kept. There is nothing that I could say about the establishment that disappointed me. I bought a Groupon for this location and was not disappointed. I didnt have to wait long and their orange infused water was refreshing. Ive had my fair share of massages, most of which did not last the full time nor adhere to my requests. In a full 60 minutes my massage therapist, Stephanie, was able to do a full body massage while also accommodating to my needs. I have knots everywhere and she was able to hit most of the spots in that amount of time. The massage also included head rubs and a face massage!
