My used couch looks, feels, smells so clean :) I bought a used couch (yup I am that person) and wanted it sanitized and deep cleaned before I sat on it (also that person). After a ton research, I settled on this company. Getting in touch with them and setting up an appointment was painless (or I'd be out). When the guy arrived he put plastic over his shoes before entering my apartment and his equipment was in great condition. I really appreciate attention to details. The guy was friendly, kind, and quickly got the job done. 5 stars because I can now nap on my couch :)

This place is a scam. It was a total bait and switch - at no point did someone say it could be more than 2X what was quoted. The technician was super vague also about why it was so expensive, and also wanted to steam the rug even though the instructions said no steaming. The whole thing felt incredibly sketchy. Avoid!!

Just had a TERRIBLE experience with Manhattan Carpet Cleaner, aka Flat Rate Carpet, aka Citi Clean…read more The local number is 212-777-9277, but the number is 212-380-1657 on the website and when they gave us an estimate, the paperwork said Citi Clean and when they came to do the job, the paperwork said Flat Rate Carpet and the guys had shirts that say Flat Rate Carpet. In the beginning, they were very nice - Eric, who came to do the estimate was fantastic and won my trust. On the phone, AJ and Danny were also nice and promised the rug would be removed and dry-cleaned - completely finished and returned in ONE week - Danny even said it would be done earlier - in 5 business days. I expected it on a Thursday at the latest last week, but received a call on Wed. telling me it wouldn't be delivered until Monday of the following week! I was very angry and explained that the only reason we went with them was because we had to have the rug back by a certain day and that was their promise!! They lied and said they had tried to reach me to schedule a delivery date- but there was no voicemail or missed calls. AND then they said the rug couldn't be delivered because it was still drying - A WEEK LATER!? They had the warehouse manager, Nil or Neil (sp?) call me and he was THE WORST - INCREDIBLY RUDE, totally unwilling to help at all, hard to understand, insulting and he totally refused to deliver the carpet last week when they promised. He said he didn't care about customer service - OBVIOUSLY - and after I demanded the rug be delivered or I would consider it stolen property - he called back and left a message saying he wouldn't deliver it on Monday either - and would let me know when he FELT like returning the rug!!!!!!!!!!!!! I called this morning and spoke with AJ again, who said they would return the rug today. When the guys arrived, they refused to bring it in until we paid cash. I refused and said I would only pay once they brought the rug in and I could see it. UNREAL! They may fool you with a nice person coming to give an estimate or when you first make the order, but then it is like you are dealing with the MAFIA!!! THE ABSOLUTE WORST!! DO NOT TRUST THEM!

So I decided to hire cleaners. I called a bunch of people -- none of whom even responded other than Gotham. These guys sent over a cleaner within 24 hours. It came to about $150 after tax for the entire apartment - about 3.5 hours of work. I appreciated their pragmatism on using green materials where possible, and doing conventional where truly needed. Maria was wonderful and kind and very thorough. The apartment feels much more like an actual home now that it's no longer gross. If I had to nitpick, I did have to provide my own cleaning products - but it's not like I didn't need to buy them anyway for my own home.
