After having my hair absolutely butchered over at Great Clips the day before I started a new job, I was running low on options to get it fixed. I wasn't exactly happy about paying $40 just to get a crappy fade fixed, but I didn't have many other choices. So I came here and Moe gave me a cut that I must say, was pretty damn good. He cut the hell out of my hair (in a *good* way) and turned the shitty mid-fade into a beautiful high fade. He made it look good. The first time I went there I had this barber young kid couldn't speak much English was super obsessed with G EASY RAP SONG(not limit) but he did a very good job. Easy in, easy out. Fabrizio hooked me up and had me looking fresh in no time. Located on Brady St. right near Nomad these boys run a solid shop to get the hair done up correct. I'm not big on all the thrills and frills of hitting up the barber shop but I do think I found one of the good ones. These guys are skilled and know how to cut anybody's hair. I tried this place about a week ago. Had to let my emotions settle before posting this review. 1) the place was dirty, hair all over the place, the floor, the drawers, desk, chair, you name it (it's a barbershop I know, but they literally had no one getting their hair cut and 3 people working, you could at least clean while you can) 2) the place smelled like smoke 3) I mentioned 3 people working, really it was an older gentleman and two younger looking kids(probably teens) and one of them was hovering (I guess he was being trained) the other one was obsessed with the song "Life is Good." 4) I asked for a MEDIUM/LOW skin fade and got a really high one 5) I said NOTHING about boxing my front up and he did it anyway (good initiative, horrible judgement) All in all I should've known not to go there when literally NO ONE was there for a cut. One of the kids was even haggling people near the entrance to go in and get a haircut. For some reason this place has great reviews and I assume it's from the other barbers, which I should've tried to book an appointment. But again no one was working except the three mentioned. Mo, Bryan and MJ have always taken care of me. The place is always clean, and they are some good barbers here. They are always friendly, professional and nice. I normally have one person do my hair, but on a couple of occasions, other barbers have done my hair, and all have done a spectacular job. I live less than a mile from this place, and they are the best in the area. They KNOW how to cut and style everyone's hair, of all kinds of ethnicity, and that is hard to accomplish. MJ and Bryan are my goto guys! My wife loves it when I get a fresh cut from these guys. I salute your work gentlemen! read more

Do not go here if you are a woman, they do not know how to cut women's hair. I asked for 1 inch and the guy (who looked 17 years old) cut off 4 inches. He also asked me weird creepy questions as he butchered me and hurt my hair when he brushed it (because he clearly never worked with women's hair before, I could tell just by the way he was handling it and "sectioning" it, if you could call it that). I asked for a blow dry and I left with a frizzy head of damp hair with uneven jagged pieces (I think a blind 6 year old on acid could have done a better job). I kid you not this was the worst haircut I have ever gotten in my life. I typically leave positive reviews for businesses, but I don't like being lied to (I don't think he's ever touched a woman's hair when I specifically asked if he had) and I don't like people trying to rip customers off (in the end they tried to up charge me by 10 bucks over the agreed price). To top it off, it looks like they never cleaned their brushes in their life. It was full of other people's hair and dander when he brushed my hair with it. I urge you to go elsewhere, especially if you are a woman. Trust me, just go to the Great Clips across the street. At least you know you're paying for a cheap haircut there, and honestly it will sadly be much better than these schmucks could ever do. Honestly I wasn't going to review this place and let it go. It's my own fault for not walking out as soon as that guy started yanking and brushing, but every time I look in the mirror I just can't believe how horrible of a job this idiot did. These guys are great. Rico is my guy here, and he always does an excellent job with my cut and beard trim. If you watch the other guys here too like Dia, Ahmed, and Cash, they're all super attentive to the little details that make a top tier cut. Plus, it's a fun, chill environment where guys can just unwind and kick it. International staff and customers: white, black, Arab, Latino, Asian. Respect and acceptance is the standard. Not your typical barber shop. It's not perfectly clean and they don't play my kind of music but MJ aka Mohamed gives an extraordinary haircut and shave. He's a details kind of guy. I think all of the barbers are good but MJ really does and outstanding job. I decided to walk in and check out this place when I was running errands and was feeling particularly shaggy... I was a little behind on my haircuts, and being sunday, my usual spot (Groom) was closed. My first impression was a bit iffy, as the only other person in the building was an older man in a jacket sitting in the waiting area on the phone having a conversation, and I had assumed it was someone waiting for a haircut. I sat down, and after a few moments, he asked if I wanted coffee and to have a seat at one of the chairs. There was a bit of a language barrier, and I had a a lot of difficulty understanding him, but I was already sitting down at the chair, so... what the hell, why not. The next hour of my life was spent receiving the most meticulous hair cut I've ever had in my entire life. At first I was pretty worried... I was concerned that because of the difficulty in communicating, he wasn't understanding what I was asking for. How silly of me. I can only describe the level of detail he spent on my hair as OCD level meticulousness. He spent just as much time on my beard, trimming and texturing it as my actual head hair. I didn't even ask, he just did it. The blending and texturing he did all over is without a doubt the cleanest I've ever had. I've got a real pain in the ass head of hair to style, as every few inches, it naturally decides to grow in a random direction, with cowlicks aplenty. Didn't even faze this magnificent bastard. When he was finally satisfied with his work, he had me look at all the angles with mirrors to make sure I was really happy with it, and when I told him that I was thrilled, I could tell he was genuinely pleased! Cost wise, I was a bit worried that it was going to come out to more than I had expected to pay, as most salons charge more for beard work, etc... Maybe it was because it was Sunday and clearly an incredibly slow day, but all in all it was $25 for everything. I will definitely be coming back, as that's about 2/3 of the price I was spending normally, and more than that, the quality and attention to detail was phenomenal. If the next time is as good as this one, I will definitely be a monthly patron here. read more

I absolutely LOVE this hair salon!! It's kinda funny, even though this place is lit up with a bunch of lights (inside and out), I never really noticed it. It blends in with the rest of the places on Brady Street so well. When I walked in, all of the hair stylists smiled and said hello. It's a very welcoming environment. I got my hair cut by Heather. I brought in a picture of the haircut & style I wanted, and she gave me EXACTLY what I was going for!! I am soooo happy with my hair! I also bought some pretty awesome (and yummy smelling) organic shampoo and conditioner. And at a very reasonable price!! Some salons charge an arm and a leg for their products, so I was super pumped to find some great quality stuff for a such a low price. Just got my hair cut here and absolutely love it!!! The vibe is very trendy, edgy, and young. You probably won't be sitting next to the golden girls getting perms, especially since they open at 10am. Nilo went beyond the call of duty to make sure the style was perfect for me making some alterations to the picture I brought in. I can't believe I waited this long to write my review! I stumbled into Fabrizio's a month ago in desperate need of a cut. I called ahead of time to make sure they could fit me in and spoke to Nilo (the owner) on the phone. He was very friendly and scheduled my appointment, making me aware that he was the owner and would be cutting my hair. Upon my arrival, I quickly noticed that this is not your average salon. Don't expect any snooty women, gossiping and listening to Katy Perry in this salon. Instead, it is a bunch of laid back guys (I have yet to meet the women stylist) listening to the Strokes and doing what they love. As far as my cut went, I am very simple when it comes to my hair. I really just needed a trim and layers; but Nilo really listened, took his time and made sure I got what I asked for. Anyways, I loved it so much I scheduled an appointment to have him do my hair for an upcoming wedding. (I am definitely hair-styling impaired) The wedding was this past weekend, my hair looked great and I plan on scheduling another appointment for an event I have in a couple of weeks. I have been loyal to my hair dresser in Madison for the last 3 years, and last week found out that my appointment with her had been canceled because she was no longer working at the salon...*le sigh.* Luckily for me, I'm staying in Milwaukee and my future sister-in-law recommended this salon! I've been wanting a shorter cut for my very curly hair, and Nilo (who is also the salon owner) worked with me and gave me exactly what I wanted. I knew I was in good hands when I sat in his chair and he spent a moment just checking out how my hair had been cut previously, asking me a couple of questions. I showed him some images of what I was going for (St. Vincent and Ilana Glazer), and he supplied his own inspiration of Mary Steenburgen in What's Eating Gilbert Grape. Perfect. The haircut experience itself was great. Once Nilo had gotten my hair layered, he checked back in with me about the length, and whether or not I wanted to go shorter (I did). I appreciated how careful and thoughtful he was. He was also very open and conversational, and we had a great discussion about relationships and life while he snipped away. At $35, my haircut was a steal. I was told they will most likely be raising their prices soon, but whatever. I just may drive here from Madison. Worth it. read more

I wanted to give it a second try so I came back again and I wish I didn't. I showed them a picture to use which didn't help one bit. I just paid $35 for some dude to practically shave my head. This salon is amazing. The staff is so laid back and welcoming. I recently had a pretty brutal haircut at another salon. I came to Fabrizio Cappeli because it had such great reviews and it did not let me down!! Yaimelys was my stylist and she did a phenomenal job of fixing my hair and making it look flawless. The atmosphere is relaxed and comforting which is such a nice change of pace from pretentious salons. Everyone is so down to earth and actually listens to what you want when it comes to your haircut. I went here expecting an okay experience, but to my surprise it was fantastic! The owner, Nilo, cut my hair and dealt with all the snarls and knots. He was very patient and welcoming, as well as the rest of the staff there. Nilo also gave me some great advice for dying my hair as well as the daily care. Since I religiously dye my hair its gotten rather damaged and not so soft, but after my cut today and the products on it afterwards I now have hope for my hair! The salon itself was very nice. Very clean, bright, and a little different. The music wasn't the same 6 songs on repeat, which I liked very much. It showed the attitude and style of the guys there, and I really liked that. I also appreciate the fact that I only saw nice guys there who knew what they were doing, rather than the normal prissy women who judge you for the products you use. I wasn't going to write a review but 5 weeks after my bad experience and now having a spectular experience at a different salon, I thought I owed it to fellow Yelpers. Having moved to Milwaukee in July, I found this salon and Nilo through Yelp and there were a lot of good reviews. The hair cut was good but when I asked for just hi-lights and low-lights and he suggested an all over color to break it up, I should have been wary. Yes, I understand it's good to do this sometimes but make sure it's with a color specialist as I have learned. After a clarifying and color and tone, by hair had blue streaks in it where previous highlights didn't acccept the color. Seriously blue. This was on a Wednesday night and Nilo said wash it a few times and it will get better. I washed it 10 times between then and Friday afternoon and when a fellow professional asked me if blue hair was the new style, I couldn't take it anymore so I went back Friday night for the fix. Friday night he then did an all over tone or something and guess what? The blue was gone... and now it was orangey bronze. Oops. He tried something else on my hair and wasn't much better. I left unhappy and Nilo knew it. I scared myself looking in the mirror Saturday morning so called Nilo again and said I would pay for some low lights to break up this mess. He said the young stylist who helped the night before could do it. This is the only reason I gave two stars is for her effort. She was very timid though so the few lowlights she put in, although the right color, didn't help. So... i walked across the street to Walgreens, bought a box of 7n color (after researching the internet for fix for orange hair), came home and did it myself. Honestly, it looked better than it had in three days so I let it go. Two days ago, I went to Tease after reading reviews and thankfully Dan was able to make it look great again plus gave me even a better cut. So if you're looking for a new salon, I recommend you keep looking past Fabrizio Cappeli. read more

I am absolutely IN LOVE with this salon! My hair looks incredible! I got a full highlight/lowlight & cut and omg it looks AMAZING!! Kat had me in and out of the salon SO fast compared to any other salon but I didnt feel rushed. My highlights look natural, not chunky. Not orange. Not red. Theyre a beautiful cool blonde color. The staff was SUPER friendly and I didnt feel like I was in a stuck up snobby salon. It felt like I was just hanging out with some friends. Everything was phenominal. Kat has recently joined Fabrizio Capelli and I followed her there from her prior employer - despite the 15 minute increase in travel time. She is very talented and extremely knowledgeable about hair care and styling products. The result is that I leave with a great style that I can easily maintain and recreate at home without a lot of extra effort. I always get complimented! I am new to Milwaukee and left a stylist back home that I loved who was my only stylist for 3 years. I get my hair taken care of about every 3 months so it's a big deal to me to have a good stylist. I loved the atmosphere, everyone is very friendly always offers something to drink (which isn't a deal breaker, but nice) I like the haircut that Nilo gave me, I liked that he was able to have a conversation with me about what I was looking for offered good suggestions, and gave my hair a nice style before I left. I hate when stylists will cut my hair and skip the styling at the end, it's part of the whole experience.
