Ok, admittedly, I didn't purchase anything here, but trust me I will!…read more This store is an absolute treat for the senses. I have not seen a more colourful, visually enticing store in Toronto. The fabrics are stunning! If you're looking for something authentic to decorate an Indian themed space, then look no further. They have an amazaing array of silk brocade panels in every colour and texture imaginable. Their selection of cushions, cushion covers, and window panels seems almost unending. You can purchase product off the shelves, however, they also offer custom upholstery services. One would expect that the stuff they are selling would induce some sort of sticker shock, but that was not the case, as their prices seem quite reasonable for Toronto (6 beaded/embroidered cusion covers for $25 - and they were beautiful). All in all, I would recommend this place if you're looking for something different or if you just want to browse. It's also a great place to bring someone who's visiting the city, as they're sure to pick up a little trinket to take home with them...this place is beautiful. FYI, only gave it 4-stars because I haven't purchased anything there yet, so I can't really comment on their customer service, though the ladies in the store seemed very nice.

A fabric store is a fabric store. I hardly walk into these, but I was with my aunt hunting for…read morecheap fabric to make a dress for school. What were we looking for: a soft, but a certain thickness fabric, solid green or blue. We walked down queen st west and this was one of the stores we walked into. It's a mess in here. It's impossible to look for anything. This is pretty common between all the other fabric stores around, but this one was unbearable. You can't even walk through the aisle, oh wait! there's hardly even an aisle. This place was one of the most uncomfortable places to search for fabric. There was two workers at the time when we entered, one was really quiet and really friendly, but kind of didn't know much when we asked her for help. She asked the other worker if she had any recommendation. The second lady knew quiet a few, but none was in our price range! We told her numerous of times of our price range and she was like, I KNOW THE EXACT ONE YOU'RE LOOKING FOR....and it was over our price range. But, as she was helping, she seemed not amused to serve us and sighed quiet a few times, giving us the feeling we were unwanted in there. My aunt politely told her, we might come back later and we just walked out. I don't recommend this place for anyone who is new to fabric or is unsure about what to use. They have tons and tons to choose from, so if you have a lot of time on your hands and in need of many options, give this place a try. Also, their prices are typical for fabric, but the ones she displayed to us was pretty pricey.

NOT RECOMMENDED! I…read morecalled about repairs to our Elna 9000 sewing machine. The owner offered to perform a tune-up for $60. He said that repairs may not be possible because the sewing machine is more than 30 years old and replacement parts would be hard to find, but agreed to try. I schlepped our sewing machine out to the World Sew Centre location in Agincourt Mall. The owner never called me -- I always had to call him for status updates. He told me that the machine's hook gear and possibly the bobbin case needed to be replaced and gave me only a vague estimate of the cost of the repair. He offered me no suggestions on where to find the parts. I did my own research and sent him an e-mail with my findings, asking him to confirm that the parts I found were the correct parts needed for the repair. The owner never replied to the e-mail. I called him to ask if the parts I found were indeed the correct parts. He said he never received the e-mail (unlikely!) and that, anyway, he would not repair a machine using third-party parts (?!). Incompetent and unprofessional!

The staff are quite nice and try to get you what you need. It is a bit messy/cramped as previous reviews have stated, so save yourself some time by asking staff for help if you haven't been here before. The fabric selection is okay but not the best if you are looking for a variety of colours or a particular shade. It is a better store for neutral colours (black, grey, white) in heavy fabrics or tule. If you are looking for the thin cotton material though, they have a variety of colours and probably the cheapest prices I know at $2.99/ a yard. Tip: If you are buying numerous things here, try to bargain a little with one of the two women there. Save a few bucks. They are more accommodating than the two other men. ^^

I found the pricing to be very affordable given today's inflation - much cheaper than stores like Walmart!
