The bouquet I had to go pickup myself, which was WRONG and not how we agreed the design to be!!!

I wish I could put 0 stars... Extremely unprofessional and shady business tactics. Not only did she ignore my requests for an invoice for months, she completely disregarded my vision for my wedding flowers. My bouquet was completely different from the vision we agreed on!! I had originally ordered 8 arrangements and somehow had to pay for 10!! And I asked if she could just do 8 only, her reply was "I will have to charge you more to give you less" that is unacceptable!!! She also tripled the original delivery fee the day before the wedding, so the groom had to go pick up the arrangements by himself the morning of his own wedding!!! That was just unacceptable!! DO NOT use this business!! You will be unsatisfied by her work and business tactics. SHADY!

LOL, had to get one.

We had some time to kill and so decided to peruse around Little Tokyo and stumbled upon this shop…read more They had a TON of fun Japanese gift items and decor like stationary, postcards, kitchenware, maneki nekos, origami paper, and so much more. They also had a lot of traditional items/supplies for tea ceremonies, calligraphy, and kimonos. I had fun looking through all the items as it brought me back to our summer in Japan. Apparently they have a long standing history in LA, having opened in 1946 after World War II. The shop occupies the site of the first Japanese-owned business in Los Angeles, circa 1890's. Pretty cool! I have a soft spot for everything animal shaped and soo.... I picked up a fun/odd felt tiger Christmas ornament, a cat pen, and a super cute bronze cat shaped spoon that hangs on the side of your cup. Did I need it? No.... but it's fun and makes me happy. Haha! Overall, great shop to browse around and find some unique gift items. They even wrap up your purchases in paper bags like they do in Japan. I LOVE IT!

Maneki Neko - I get my first wild but cutie, I got neon cutie it's so cute and I love it!!

Maneki Neko also operates a sister concept store called CATCH Little Tokyo located on the third floor of Japanese Village Plaza. [Parking]: As long as there are no special events in Little Tokyo, the Aiso Parking Garage (101 Judge John Aiso St) is your best bet. [Selection]: The shop has transitioned from primarily selling traditional decor / ceramics / cosmetics (which the shop still carries but in a smaller section) to focusing mainly on plushies and blind boxes featuring IPs like Sanrio, Pokémon, and other Japanese anime. Even though an officially licensed Sanrio store is located next door, Maneki Neko still has an excellent selection of Sanrio items that you can't find at the next-door licensed Sanrio store. [Conclusion]: This is one of those shops where I can probably find a Sanrio plush that I am willing to buy as a gift. It is a perfect example of a thriving shop that has learned to adapt by keeping up with changing consumer tastes.

I don't think anything can ever beat the old Arcadia location when I got super cheap and nice cosmetics for around $1 (think Missha and Majolica Marjorca, but this only happened when things reopened after the lock down), but you can still find some good deals here. Similar to the Arcadia location, there's a mix of legitimate items here and a couple questionable, potentially bootleg items, so make sure you check and read the labels and compare prices online and the such. I like how this location plays into the culture and touristy-ness of the Little Tokyo with the daruma statue photo op in front and the pressed penny machine. I'm a sucker for pressed pennies, so this was nice. I've gotten super cheap sword props for cosplay, cute super cheap random character plushies and merchandise (think generic cats), and in an ocean of blind box slop shops in LT, I prefer Maneki Neko in comparison.
