I've always felt too shy and scared that i couldn't keep up with a class type of workout. From day 1 to my second YEAR of coming here consistently, I had never felt like I couldn't keep up or that it even mattered! The trainers and the people that come here are just so encouraging and have always shown me that they truly care about each and every individual's personal goals and work with each body type. I've never felt like I couldn't come in a little earlier or stay a little later and just ask questions and get help and advice on reaching my own fitness and health goals. F45 makes me feel like I am a part of a community. Overall this location, I may sound bias, is THE best! I have friends and co-workers who are members of the other F45 locations in the Houston area and a part of other types of gym classes who have left their gym to come to the West U F45 location! Been coming here since I moved back in August. I have been to other f45 locations as well but this one is closest to my house. That being said I love coming here! The coaches are encouraging and give instructive feedback. EZ and AD are great and have lots of energy. I do wish they had more class time options are sometimes the times are not conducive with my schedule but I make it work! They definitely have a good community aspect to it compared to some other locations I've been to. I recommend trying if you want a good workout! And try more than one class bc not all classes are the same. read more

This was the first F45 I ever tried/joined many years ago when I lived in Houston. I was completely hooked from the first class. Staff was very nice and friendly, there was a great sense of camaraderie and the workouts themselves always left my entire body feeling on fire in the best way possible. I only got to spend a couple months here before moving, but this gym truly changed my life and the way I approached and prioritized fitness and working out. I had never done HIIT or circuit style workouts before, so I always viewed exercise as a chore and just having to lift heavy weights, which never appealed to me. Short bursts of fun, functional, and a wide variety of movements was really game changing for me, and I have F45 to thank for that! Didn't see any progress, I felt kind of out of place and wasn't treated the same like everyone else. Come in do my workout and leave. Crazy thing is, all I received was a hand towel after being committed for 2 months straight but was told I wouldn't receive an actual member bag because I didn't deserve one. Crazy I went to visit another gym with a few friends and they celebrated there 1st day, 25 days or just milestones. Felt like they only recorded people they felt would heighten the IG page. I stumbled across this fitness center via Facebook. They were offering a grand opening special of two free weeks with no stings attached. So of course I gave it a shot because after taking a break from the gym I needed something to jump start my lifestyle again. During my two weeks I had the pleasure to train along side Ms. Jackie and Brooke. They were very sweet and helpful while going through the sessions. Each session is different. The workouts are in circuit intervals. The great thing about this is that you'll be working various muscles and in the moment you might not feel it. However by half way in you can surely feel the burn! The upside to the circuits are the video monitoring that you can find on the walls that shows you what you are supposed to be doing. Although the downside in my opinion is that the sessions do not offer a cool down. Which I think is very beneficial. The trainers do say to stretch afterwards , however, they do not do it with you and neither does the program. F45 reminds me of cross fit a little. The only difference is you're really following a video guide and the trainers are there to help and assist. So you kinda can do many of circuits at home. The upside to doing it there are seeing and watching others around you along with the hands on verbal support. Although I opted out of continuing the program I truly enjoyed my 2 week free trial and I recommend it to anyone trying to jump start their fitness lifestyle. read more

I LOVE this place! One of the only fitness places that offer a great free trial (7 days!) to really get a feel for what they can do for you. My friend and I were wanting to get our fitness on and decided to try this out because of how awesome their free trial was. We came before work everyday at 5:30am (yes, we're crazy. And yes, it was a struggle to get up) but it was so worth it. The fitness trainers are super personable and really make the effort to get to know you, your name, and to make you feel welcome. The type of workout differs everyday so you're never bored. It's the type of class that I really enjoy (HIIT) and pushes you to do one more rep than you thought you could. I definitely saw results after a week of going. The trainers also help you with your form during the workouts and sometimes will even hand you a heavier weight in dumbbells (bc they know you can handle it) . My favorite part about this gym is that I never felt pressured to purchase a membership. No harassing, no constant push towards buying a monthly pass (unlike classpass and orange theory that I recently tried, but that's another story). They just wanted you to get a great workout and to improve yourself. Yes, it's a bit pricey. But is it worth it? I really think so. That's why I decided to buy the unlimited monthly pass ($159/mo). I 100% believe in investing in your health and this is a class that works for me and my lifestyle right now. I signed up to try a free class and attended on a Saturday. Maybe this would resolve with time as you got more familiar with the movements but I found the workout to be chaotic. There were 18 stations and somewhere between 20-60 seconds at each station. By the time I got to a station and figured out what I was supposed to be doing, most of the time was up. The room was too small for the number of people in it and I was constantly negotiating my space, trying to not be in the way of someone else. At the end of class they facilitated a short ab workout. When I laid on the floor I collected tiny black pieces of the floor and general grey color I don't know what all over my legs and shoulders. Gross. While I did sweat, I found the workout to be unfocused and felt like they were trying to squeeze in too many things. It was not for me. Instructors were nice and did come around to try to provide helpful instruction. There just wasn't enough time to learn from them and implement anything before I had to move on to the next station. read more

After writing a honest review based off of how I felt, now I have this rude Karen putting words in my mouth on another google review. Please be aware of this place. I will post the review for proof. She puts words in my mouth saying I said "let me speak to the black girl" when that is not what I said. I was trying to explain to her who I talked to last not knowing if there were multiple people who worked there and all I knew to say was the black girl with red hair because I had no other information to describe her since I didn't remember her name. Putting words into my mouth is completely unnecessary and this is from a manager of this place. Also, even though I don't have to elaborate on my equinox review I will so this karen can maybe understand a little better. It's unfortunate this manager isn't aware of how it can feel to be black and be targeted due to the color of your skin. If I had a experience at the gym that I felt was due to my race then that's just how I felt. AS THE MANAGER THERE, things were discussed and my experience has been better. Unlike this location who tries to taunt me and reply to a review with false information then add something on the review that has nothing to do with Their location just shows the type of facility and people they hire. A professional and respectful person would not have ever replied such a petty reply. Please be aware of this location and the lack of customer service. I love this place. I decided to come the day it opened and I've been hooked ever since! You're getting a little bit of everything and you will know that you worked by the end of the classes by the pools of sweat. Since I started I've gained 7 pounds of muscle and I've lost around 19 inches. What I love about this place is that you're not strictly doing cardio. Some days focus on it yes, but you have weight days as well as good resistance days too! The atmosphere is super upbeat and everyone is very welcoming. Shein is an awesome trainer that goes out of his way to truly make sure you are getting your best workout without injuring yourself. He is attentive to each person in the class. I only had one workout here. I came in during a free two week promotion. Everyone was very kind, welcoming and encouraging. Unfortunately for me, I have an awful shoulder injury. The trainer was very attentive to ensure that I didn't cause further injury. I really appreciated that. It's certainly a great workout. I haven't sweated that much in years! It may have been a little too much for me with my current injury. When others saw me struggling, they were quick to encourage me. You just don't find that everywhere. The video monitor was extremely helpful. You know exactly what's expected of you during the circuit. I was so grateful for the free two weeks. I really hate that I couldn't take full advantage. Groupon got me hooked with F45 West U! I subscribed as a member now. Wish I can say that I am fitter than one month ago, but, Rome wasn't built in a day. The perks that made me spent time and money on F45 West U are Great and fun workout design New and clean facility and equipments, indoor facility beats the unpredictable Houston weather, to keep my gym outfit investment the minimum, aha. You don't need bring anything when you come to F45 West U, they provides all kinds of fitness tools, equipments and H2O, it's fun to learn everything with the correct postures! Oh, I guess you need to bring a towel if you sweat a lot... Class schedule is reasonable, hope will have classes on Sundays though. I signed up for a 7day trial and had a wonderful experience. The workout is intense but you get so much done in only 45 mins. Time really flew by and I felt incredible afterwards. I worked out every day but needed a break after day 4 because my body needed rest. The coaches were very helpful and encouraging. The gym looks brand new and and the equipment is in good condition. The music is great and goes perfect with the workouts. Such a fun time! I will sign up for the F45 challenge because I want to set up goals and see results with proper training and nutrition. I started F45 with no previous workout experience aside from yoga. The studio owner and trainers were extremely welcoming with showing me proper form and technique as I barely knew my way around a gym. I was easily able to work at my own pace along side seasoned gym sharks without feeling embarrassed at my beginner level. F45 offers 8 week challenges which was a great way for me to jump start my fitness journey. The trainers were helpful with providing encouragement throughout the challenge and diet tips. The studio owner also offered a dexa scan that could be done to track before and after progress. The challenges helped push me and give me the drive to do better. My first challenge I placed third and my second I pushed harder and won the gold :). They allowed me to lose 20lbs and really tone up my body. I have been continuing F45 for over a year and still love it. The workouts are always different and challenging. The West U location is great for on sight parking and ease of availability of classes. I did a free 2 week trial. I figured I would mix it up since all I've been doing is spin. Love this place! The location is great, it's easy for me to get to, abundant parking, and great prices compared to other studios. I'm always struggling with every class and feel so great afterwards. Every class is very different, which is really awesome since it doesn't get boring and keeps my body guessing. I really like Aaron, he will help modify any workout for you if you have any problems or make sure you have proper stance so you don't have any injuries. If you intend on trying out this place and you haven't been doing crossfit/orange theory type workouts, I suggest going on Mon,Wed, or Fri first since they're cardio classes. Tu, Thurs are strength days and can take you out of commission for several days if your body isn't used to it. read more

The 45 minutes go by quick!! I left the class feeling energized instead of exhausted. Warning - You will feel overwhelmed at the beginning as they go through all the exercises quickly, but the instructors are more than happy to re-explain any of the exercises (and they also have videos going on loop of each individual exercise). They'll stand next to you and walk you through the movements and ensure your form is correct. The trainers make sure they're aware of any possible injuries you may have and provide many alternatives. read more

This is by far the best work out I have ever had! I used to go to orange theory fitness, and with wearing my heart rate monitor (at both), I burn about 100 calories more (on average) at F45 training than I ever did at orange theory fitness... in less time! Some of the workouts are even difficult for me to finish. I love that there are no treadmills, I had a knee injury in the past and the functional workouts have actually helped my knee/leg/hamstring get stronger and cause me less pain. I have been a member for about 3 weeks now, and I can already see changes in my body as well as fitness/strength improvements! My favourite workout is Saturday with the live DJ, it really gets you grooving and you don't realize how long you have been working out... the class is over before you know it. They also have showers, which makes it convenient to get ready for work. I am currently participating in the 8 week challenge which includes all my meal/nutrition plans free of charge.
