I first learned about F45 from an instagram ad, they were promoting a six week challenge, and i was…read morestuck in a rut so i figured why not try something new. Shoal Creek was not far from my place, so i booked an appointment with Cory to learn about it. I signed up, and started my commitment to working out 4-5 days a week, even on days when i had previously made excuses for myself on why i couldnt work out, because of a work schedule or whatever i had invented to get out of physical activity, and adhering to their meal plan, which also required more planning and cooking than i was used to. I fell in love. Even though i don't like doing burpees, a year and a half after i started the trial, i'm still going, still hitting 5 days a week, still challenging myself every class that i attend. These workouts are not things that i would do if i was working out by myself, which is a good thing, and the sense of community and camaraderie keep me going. I attend the morning classes since i work nights, so Trent is the trainer that i see most often, and he really helps to make sure that no matter what your fitness level is, there's an option for you. His demeanor also makes me feel really at ease and is very encouraging. Also, with everything that's happened in the last 6 months, all the Covid shut downs and mandates, the trainers were working hard to give us content, Zoom classes and recorded workouts with modifications and options for weights from things that can be found in the household... I did not gain any Covid weight, and i attribute that to having workouts available, and having access to the meal plan, which are pretty easy to prepare, and pretty tasty... and now that they've reopened, they keep it clean and have a great environment to make me feel safe. I love this place, and love the compliments that i get from people that have noticed the difference from my attendance. And i feel great!

This facility is clean, lots of showers available if showering at the gym is your thing, they have a sauna, and a class schedule that works well for me. My college-aged daughter is home for the summer, and I got her a 3 month membership so we can work out together, and she really likes it, too. Every day there is a different training routine with new exercises, so no chance to get bored. Your mind and your body will be very thankful for that. The playlist during workouts is very chill and empowering at the same time. And if you are looking for personal trainings - surprise, F-45 is also a good match. It's a paradox, but I feel like it's a team workout and personal training at the same time! You will be working out on your own station, but there's always a coach around you in case you have some questions. It made me feel like I was on the personal training session. There are always two coaches that support and guide you through all workouts. COVID updates: the gym is very clean. After warm up you will receive your personal sanitizer and a small towel for cleaning your station. Before entering gym coaches will check your temperature. After each training all equipment is sanitized with machine that looks like the blaster from the "Ghostbusters" movie I cannot recommend a particular class or coach because I liked all of them so far. There are tons of really nice treadmills, some with a running track that is curved and more rugged like you are running outdoors on a trail. The bikes are great, very updated. I do think the weights machines are outdated and need to be replaced. The TRX area has some classes. They also have several rooms with Pilates reformers, barre classes, as well as yoga, and circuit training. There are fancy stretching machines and massage chairs! Bonus! The sauna and steam room are separate sexes located in the locker rooms for privacy. The showers have good quality hair products and body wash. They even have razors and q-tips as well as cotton wipes. Hair dryers are available too. The pool area is really like a resort it is so nice. Plenty of loungers to relax on and good shade spots. This gym has all the beautiful people haha. Everyone is in like Lulu-lemon and dress to impress. Fun but a little intimidating when you wear old gym closes. They also have pickleball courts and basketball. You can take a pickleball lesson and sign up to play with others when comfortable. Telling me I had 2 prior violations of booking changes - turns out that was also incorrect because I only had 1 prior violation whereby I couldn't make it in time due to nyc subway being stopped. This time it was lifetime who booked me for 60 min when I wanted 30 min. I'm so over the spa here / they never have an esthetician available and charge $95 for a 30 min massage which is expensive by any means and the front desk manager is a bitch!
