When we entered the house it was a wonderful remodeled farms house with every convenience you would need along with a design of impeccable detail. We spent hours by the fire out back, took a cow safari across the property and the neighboring 140 acres, cooked dinners in the gourmet kitchen, and spent quality disconnected time as a family. Fresh eggs are available every morning from the coop outside the kitchen window. The beds and high quality linens made for a great night sleep. Tonys warm spirit is the best part of the farm. The old wood walls and cozy furniture give it a timeless vibe, and every visit feels like catching up with friends over something truly special. Louis Papadopoulos, the winemaker and owner, brings decades of Greek winemaking heritage into every bottle. Today I did a white and red tasting with eight themes, and GeorgeAnna--absolute legend--threw in four extra pours just because she's that kind of person. Her hospitality is the heart of this place. The wines are next level. The port-style wines are rich and unforgettable. Their Cabernet Sauvignon is bold yet smooth, and the Moscato--especially the grapefruit and mango versions--hits you with bright, juicy perfection. My personal favorites? Nostalgia, Mejortage, and Latif's Jewel, each with its own personality--silky reds with just the right mix of oak, fruit, and charm. For me, Mediterranean Cellars isn't just a winery. It's that happy place where family, laughter, and seriously good wine come together. One visit and you'll understand why I keep coming back with a trunk that's mysteriously always full of bottles.

The staff were so friendly and you could tell they really loved the wines they poured and the family they worked for. The scenery outside was lovely with a view of a fountain and the vineyard on their very spacious patio area. With all that said, my friend and I did not enjoy their wine. I don't want to discourage others from trying this place and all tastes are different but none of the wines we tasted were to our liking and actually tasted off to me. But I am still giving this place three stars because the people were just so nice and accommodating. If I were to only give stars for the wine itself, this place would've sadly only received one from me.

Of the many wineries in the region, it is impossible to pick just one that is your favorite; try picking your favorite song. But in the world of a wine spectator, guided by my wife who is a sommelier, I am afforded unique opportunities. Glenn Manor Winery is a specificity. They are a century farm steeped in the values of our valley. Arriving from north or south one is struck by the sense of grandeur among the modest and well kept homes. Pride of ownership. No signs are necessary for those who seek the work of Jeff White and his dedicated partners. Visiting them makes it apparent that all are equally valued . "Sommunity". I cop to I'll-literary license in reference to those who range from those who are novice to those more learned, and as for myself, those who enjoy the diverse venues that offer good juice and conviviality. There is a solemnity to Glen Manor. I don't wish to be irreverent, but there is no denying the presence of the Lord when you are blessed by beautifully talented people who till the soil and host their guests in a setting that is truly touched by God. Wrapped by the Daughter of the Stars and shrouded by the Blue Ridge in the northern Appalachian, I find myself in awe of the land I call home. The wine made at Glen Manor is an effort of dignity. Nothing here is done by manipulation, but by the force of nature. Jeff makes what God provides to the earth and his gift. The beauty of his bounty is biblical and the gift he has been given. There is a fragility to every art, and making wine is no different. It demands the agility to react to the will of the winds and the ability to inspire your partners to have faith in the vine that is life. For without the vine, the branches bear no fruit.
