Who knows what has to be done to get through this difficult time when all you want to do is join your loved one in heaven? With all of the family bickering that went on (yes, even then) William Curran knew exactly what had to be done and did what he had to in the eyes of the law and God. He never took sides, he handled everything with the utmost respect, care and was very professional. The services he provided were well worth that little bit extra compared to the "other" places I called. it's like going to the dollar store and getting lotion for your baby because it's cheaper and then she breaks out in a terrible rash. This is my comparison to the other places. As for McKeon, it was like shopping at Lord and Taylor. He made sure my husband's appearance was as if he was taking a nap.The casket was beautiful. I picked out a beautiful Urn to put my husband's ashes. Everything was the way it should have been. Bill was very comforting and he made everything so easy. I had a million questions. He took my calls every single time and was never bothered. He is eager to help and has the best facility. He showed us downstairs and the embalming room. All was clean and I cannot tell you how satisfied I am. I wish that I can do something as wonderful for him one day, that's how happy everyone was with the services provided. Don't bother to shop around. Your loved ones are precious and even in death, they deserve the best. Thank you Bill.

At the cemetary, as the priest blessed the coffin, I recognized that the funeral home embossed the wrong name on the outside of my father's coffin! There was nothing I could do at that moment because of distraught family members. If I were there alone, I would have stopped the burial! Instead, I immediately contacted the funeral home. To this day, four months later, Matt and the funeral home have not corrected the problem. I have called a number of times. I would NOT recommend this funeral home because of their insincerity and refusal to take responsibility for their mistake. The idea of my father's coffin having the wrong name on it makes me crazy on a daily basis. My father has gone to meet his Maker in a coffin with a mistake that will stay there virtually forever. Shame on you, Matt!

Personally I have used their services twice and both times was treated with the upmost respect and professionalism. Gloria goes above and beyond to make sure everything goes smoothly. She stepped right in and told me what needed to be done made suggestions and everything went smoothly and my aunt looked like an angel. I reviewed condolences and complements. Shortly afterward my mother got sick and I knew I would need Gloria's help again. I went to her and again she greeted me warmly and we were able to set everything up. She told me to call her at anytime and not to worry. When the time came around 11:00 pm I made the call. I was expecting to leave a message but to my surprise she answered and remembered me. I was relieved and grateful. Again everything was beautiful and went smoothly. I speak about my experience from time to time and always send people to Porta Coeli. This review is long overdue, as my family worked with Sisto Funeral Home earlier this year…read morefollowing the passing of my sister. During an incredibly difficult time for our family, the care, patience, and attention we received made a very painful process a little easier to navigate. I especially want to recognize Ralph Faiella, who was incredibly attentive and compassionate throughout the entire process. He was always responsive to my texts, patient with our many questions, and made himself available whenever we needed clarification or reassurance. There are so many details and decisions that have to be handled while a family is grieving, and Ralph approached everything with kindness, professionalism, and genuine care. I also want to thank Robert and Tom, who assisted us on the day of my sister's service. They were both extremely respectful and attentive to our family and helped ensure that everything went smoothly. Our circumstances also involved additional logistics, as my sister was being transported to the Dominican Republic for a second service and her final arrangements. Ralph and the team coordinated the transportation and handled the additional preparation and retouching needed for her second viewing there. Knowing that these details were being handled carefully and respectfully was incredibly important to us, especially when coordinating arrangements between two countries. It has taken me some time to write this because, understandably, revisiting that period is difficult. But I did not want more time to pass without acknowledging the kindness and professionalism shown to my sister and our family. We are deeply grateful to Ralph, Robert, Tom, and everyone at Sisto Funeral Home for the dignity and care they showed her throughout the entire process.

After the sudden loss of a loved one in New York, I found myself navigating an overwhelming and emotional time from across the country. Based on reviews, I came across this gem of a funeral home in the Bronx and decided to reach out--albeit with some hesitation, knowing that not all reviews reflect reality. I can say without reservation that Sisto Funeral Home exceeded every expectation. From our very first interaction, Ralph treated me with the care, compassion, and attentiveness one would expect from a trusted family member. His communication was impeccable, his follow-up consistent, and his attention to detail unmatched. Despite the time difference and the fact that I was coordinating everything from California, Ralph was always responsive, thoughtful, and reassuring. I initially contacted eight funeral homes throughout New York City, and choosing Sisto Funeral Home was one of the best decisions I made during this difficult time. The funeral service was held at St. Raymond's Church, and it was truly beautiful. Ralph and his team arrived promptly, conducted themselves with the highest level of professionalism, and carried out every aspect of the service with dignity, respect, and grace. If I could give ten stars instead of five, I would do so without hesitation. I rarely write reviews, but making the time to write this one was a priority because exemplary service like this deserves to be recognized. Thank you, Ralph. I will be forever grateful to you and your team for guiding my family and me through one of the most difficult moments of our lives with such compassion and excellence. Thank you sincerely.
