I also wanted to do some of the work, since I had the time and enjoyed performing home improvement. It also helped reduce the overall cost. Skydell was very flexible with this approach and we decided for the full remodel. Henry, the project manager, was good in communicating the work and the schedule. He worked through some unexpected obstacles (relocating a vent, additional support for shower) to ensure the job was completed in a very professional manner. I am very pleased with the final outcome and it has increased the value of the home.

Wow, these guys are true professionals. We recently purchased an old home that passed inspection…read more We had Ben Grano come in based on a referral from a friend for an estimate on concrete work. He immediately noted issues in the basement that the previous owner covered up with lots of Drylock paint that were not caught by the home inspector. He recommended replacing some columns under the main beam as well as adding in three pilaster columns to support the main beam and the walls after he noted cracking in the concrete blocks. We also decided to do a french drain at the same time. Ben gave us a written estimate that was incredibly detailed and easy to understand. On the first day of the job, Gene Grano arrived with the crew and emptied our basement before setting up, covering anything left there and laying down plywood in our driveway and on the grass. Once the crew started breaking the floor near the walls, they found that our home had no footing and the walls were built right on top of the dirt. The central columns were also laying on top of the floor with no footings. Ben and Gene explained everything to us and went over options. We were very upset about the situation but they reassured us and went over the game plan. The crew was awesome. They worked nonstop Monday through Saturday and were very polite and professional. The entire job was complete in just under three weeks and we are incredibly happy with the outcome and we know that the job was done right and our home will be safe and secure for years to come. Every part of the job was explained and shown to us. The crew did a great job cleaning up every day. We could not be more happy with Mario Grano And Sons LLC and are happy to refer them to anyone. We also look forward to having them back next year to redo our concrete patio.

When he came to the house, he was able to personally check the situation right away that afternoon and has given us his input, in which he was really very helpful to our situation. Since the damage affected the second floor as well as the first floor, We also decided to do the renovations for the 2nd floor bathroom/living room as well as the entire kitchen on the first floor including 1st floor main living room space. The process from getting rid of the damaged areas, demolition and to the renovation were consistent, efficient and done with quality work in mind. His staff/workers were very respectful, friendly and really knowledgeable on their craft. Special mention to Steve, the project manager! And to Matt and Jason , plus the painter and the tiler that are so meticulous with their work! And the good thing to point out is that Michael will work with your budget, your design ideas and input and will also give you suggestions/pros/cons that will help you decide on design plan, materials and products to be used on your project. The ability to have that kind of communication between you and the contractor is important to make the project a success. It was definitely a big project on the house but it's all worth it.
