However, judging it purely on what it offers today, I'd classify this as a higher-end, upper-tier commercial facility that easily earns 4 stars. The Pros: Top-Tier Equipment & Serious Lifting Setup *Free Weights & Specialty Equipment: It's a massive space stocked mostly with Life Fitness and Hammer Strength machines, with dumbbells topping out at a heavy 150 lbs. They also feature sought-after specialty pieces like a belt squat machine and multiple hip thrust stations. *Powerlifting Support: Plenty of Olympic platforms and squat racks, making it an exceptional setup for heavy compound training. *Outdoor Turf Area: Includes sleds, slam balls, racks, and stretching gear for dynamic functional training. *Decent Morning Vibe: The 5 AM crowd consists mostly of dedicated members focused on their workouts. While some socialize between sets, you rarely deal with people hogging machines or sitting around on their phones endlessly. *Staff & Perks: Friendly, consistent front-desk staff who greet you on the way in and out. The Minor Drawbacks *Peak Station Congestion: The cable section is extremely popular--even at 5 AM every pulley can be taken. The free bench area near the dumbbells is also bolted down fairly close together, making it tight when busy. *Restroom Maintenance & Layout: One toilet stall seems out of order fairly often (there are 4 stalls), and one of the stall's door opens inward, making it awkward and cramped to exit and it drives me nuts. (I haven't used the showers or sauna). *General Maintenance: You'll see the occasional out-of-order tag, and dumbbells aren't always re-racked in the exact right order--though it's far better than gyms where weights are scattered randomly across the floor. Timing & Traffic: At 5 AM, the floor is active, respectful, and manageable. Etiquette is solid across a diverse age mix. Parking and floor space are smooth early on, though both likely get tight during peak evening hours. Final Verdict: There's nothing here that completely blows me away, but there's also nothing that frustrates me enough to make me stop coming. I've been coming to this gym for over 3 years now. This gym was originally a Gold's Gym before it was bought out by EoS. I will say that there has been a definite decline in some areas since EoS took over. For one, the bathrooms are not as well maintained--there's always at least one clogged sink and I find the stalls dirty more frequently than I did before. Alongside the bathroom issues, I feel like the free weights are always missing and there's a lack of mats in the turf area, even if not many people are using them. There's also been replacements of maintenance things around the gym (such as various product dispensers) that feel cheaper than they were before when it was Gold's. With all this being said, I'd still say that this a nice gym overall. There's a good amount of equipment, a separate turf area, a sauna, various fitness classes offered, and massage chairs. I enjoy coming here and will continue to do so, but I do miss when it was a Gold's. read more

We joined a few weeks ago and we loved this gym. We have started taking the Zumba and the Silversneaker classes, one for cardio and another one for strength. Both classes are very popular, with excellent coaches, and great music. My wife bought a series with a coach and it's been helpful for her. All the staff we met are courteous and helpful. read more

I joined this location back in Nov '22 when they were having their "presale" launch with their opening back in Dec '22 when it was Gold's. The gym is beautiful and big and grew with members over time so most of the GX classes get full quickly. The parking lot is the most challenging part of the place as it shares with a small strip mall on one side and you have to pay attention to the parking sign or else you might get towed. The EOS acquisition didn't do much to the aesthetics other than changing a few color schemes, otherwise, it is the same (which is not a bad thing). I go here from time to time (mainly on weekends) as it is a 13 mile drive (one way) from home but I do enjoy the variety of classes here. read more

Zero stars if I could. Sauna (women's) is down still - May 30. Was down from at least April 24 to May 22. Looks like it's mostly down than working. I asked the front desk gal ETA yesterday. She went to ask her manager - a not in shape gal - who was busy to write something on the white board. She didn't stop, acknowledge her employee or at least briefly look at her when she was asking. This nonverbal shouts volume of her skill and care, actually lack of interest in the job she was hired to do. Huge disappointment to see this interaction been EOS management and employees. Walked into what's supposedly an EoS, but it's giving strong "Gold's Gym wearing a fake mustache" energy. Sure, parking was chill and it wasn't packed, and shoutout to Phoenix at the front for actually being a decent human and being so helpful and friendly. But let's not ignore the elephant lifting weights in the room.... this place is rocking older machines and somehow skipped all the fun recovery perks: NO massage chairs (well there's the old Gold's hydro massage chair thing but didn't get to try) NO cryolounge NO compression boots Not even a sad attempt at one of them. If you're gonna rebrand, at least commit to the glow-up, man!!!! Also, gym etiquette? Missing!!!! Not the gym's fault, but some folks out here treating machines like petri dishes!!! Disgusting!!! As someone w a strong microbiology background... yeah, you don't wanna know!!! Might be a Gold's culture but there aren't a lot of wipes & spray stations (1 was actually broken, interesting) they're spaced far apart (you know, to get those extra steps in)... but maybe if they had more of these stations available it would motivate the members to wipe down after use. Sauna was broken (what the cardio fudge) and typically this would've been a deal breaker but because I had to catch up for missed days, I stayed to get more time in. Restrooms!?!?!?!? Let's just say they were going through something.... no toilet paper, questionable cleanliness, emotional damage!!! End result: Solid 5 hour workout with sub-par machines, zero recovery, broken sauna, no toilet paper in restrooms, and a lingering feeling that this gym is still in its Gold's Gym identity crisis era. There are four bathroom stalls, and two of them are broken. The remaining two are poorly maintained and regularly have no toilet paper available. This was one of the main issues I mentioned in my original review, yet it continues to be a problem. With summer bringing more kids who are out of school, the gym has become even more frustrating. People are still smoking and vaping in the bathrooms, weights are constantly left out instead of being returned, and equipment is regularly left dirty because members don't wipe it down after use. Management responded to my original review saying they were committed to addressing these concerns and improving the environment for members. Five months later, I have seen no meaningful improvement. The same problems remain, and in several ways, the gym has gotten worse. I have included photos documenting the condition of the bathrooms, including photos of the same toilet taken two hours apart showing that the issue remained unaddressed. This is not an isolated incident--it reflects the ongoing lack of restroom checks, cleaning, and basic maintenance at this location. At this point, the lack of cleanliness, maintenance, and enforcement of basic gym rules reflects poorly on the management of this location. A response promising improvement means very little when months pass and the same conditions continue. read more

Customer service at Cerritos location is terrible. I called because I simply wanted to find out where I could view my billing and payment information. The front desk employee first told me that I could find it under my profile in the app. When I explained that there was no billing or payment information anywhere under my profile, she then changed her answer and said that sometimes the information is "not necessarily there." It felt like she was just trying to bluff her way through the conversation rather than actually helping me find the correct information. What was even more disappointing was that before we had finished the conversation, she simply hung up on me. I was asking a basic question about my membership and payment information, and I expected at least a courteous and professional response. Very poor customer service experience. Staff should be properly trained on membership and billing questions and, at the very least, should not hang up on customers who are simply asking for help. read more

I went into the Cerritos gym on Oct,7th 2026. I buddy of mine e said he had been going here. Anyway I found a 7 day pass on Facebook. I went down to active it. I met with someone behind the counter they said fill out the on the computer screen. That there membership guy was busy to have a seat. So I sat for a good long while I saw other staff go back to where the one guy was. Still no one said anything to me. No one checked on me. Just nothing. After waiting about 35 minutes,I left. After I left no one called me or sent me a email. That night I wrote to EOS. Telling them this experience I had. They sent a reply to my email saying that somebody from EOS would contact me within 24 to 48 hours again. I wrote this on the seventh. It's now the 12th and still nobody's contacted me all I've gotten from EOS is promotional emails trying to meet my goals and I'm basically just selling me a membership but the customer service in person was awful. This is no way to run a business or get new members. read more

Terrible gym. Never an open machine. People just lounging on all machines taking them to themselves. And other than when I signed up staff was not helpful. Got roped into the pt30 program. Good luck getting a trainer to respond to you. Paid for the entire program ~$800 and only was able to use the first time new member free training. Then when I reached out to Raul Ojeda for help with cancelation of the pt I was charged a month later for it again! Reached out, no one helps. I've resorted to bank dispute at this point. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY! Also good luck contacting anyone because there's no emails for anyone ready on the site. You have to submit a claim and pray you hear back. About a month ago, I had cervical spine surgery and decided to work with a personal trainer to help rebuild my strength, balance, and mobility. I have never been much of a gym person or someone who works out regularly, so I knew I needed guidance and accountability to get back on track. Anthony at EOS Cerritos has been a huge part of my recovery journey. With his help, I have lost 20 pounds and regained some of my strength. He always asks how my day is going and whether there is anything specific I need him to focus on during our sessions. Anthony is very attentive and seems to notice right away when something is bothering me physically. I spend long hours working on a computer, which often leaves me with a stiff neck and limited range of motion. Through his hands-on techniques, stretching, and training approach, he has helped me improve my neck mobility and feel better overall. He has also given me helpful advice on supplements that may support my goals. Anthony is positive, encouraging, and knows how to push me while still respecting my limitations. I went with my dad to help him get his membership setup, because on Friday they wouldn't let him in due to not being in the system and having to log on to the app. Also, on Friday they weren't helpful in assisting him at all and he's older. Went in today, Sunday June 7th to figure out what was going on. That's when Phoenix assisted us. He helped my dad walk through the process and made sure his card was working. He also had the patience to walk us through getting the app set up on my dad's phone. I could see why he's a Member Experience Manager, he definitely helps the people. AVOID this gym at all cost! Every single time I would come in here it was packed! A lot of wanna be social media influencers always recording their workouts, but the real reason I give it one star is due to the horrible customer service I received when I tried to cancel my membership. I was told It was canceled and I was going to get a refund for the last month I didn't go. Well I never received the refund and they kept trying to charge my bank account for the next 4 months! This is the short version. There's so much unprofessional behavior that I'm not including for the sake of keeping this brief. I signed up for a personal training package with a verbal promise that if I did not find someone who met me needs that I would be fully refunded the entire amount of the 14 sessions. I confirmed multiple times with EOS staff that I could try out a few different trainers first and was reassured that I could do a few free trials with different trainers. I also shared that I would be out of town so I most likely wouldn't start my sessions for a couple of weeks. They said no problem. They matched me with a trainer. She was fine, but before a single paid session, she quit and texted me that she was pretty sure that I could get a full refund since I didn't start my paid sessions. Well, I've been trying for weeks now and I keep getting the run around. Raul is the one in charge of PTs and is now saying I had to cancel within 5 days even when I had asked several times AFTER the 5 day cancellation period (which no one told me about then) and was assured that I could get a full refund. I have gone in multiple times and spoke with Pheonixx who has been trying to help but says it's his direct supervisor who hasn't been getting back to him. I sent in my complaint to him via email and have called a few times and still no response from corporate. Also, they kept sending me emails of training sessions that I never booked and says were completed or sent me wrong session times for free sessions with trainers I never heard of. When I asked Raul to correct that so it doesn't look like I had paid sessions, he kept telling me it's just a systems error and not to worry about it. I insisted that I wanted those errors fixed precisely for the issue I am now dealing. He said there was nothing he could do about the incorrect data so I contacted Pheonixx and screenshot all the texts and emails where I was misled or incorrect information was recorded. Before I dispute this with my credit card company I'm going to personally go in again and speak with the manager one more time. I will update this review. read more

I had such a horrible experience with the manager today. Being a Platinum member, you typically have access to all of the gym amenities, including a private workout room. Unfortunately, to get into this room, you need to have an EOS keychain, but they no longer have them in stock, so members have to request that the door be opened by staff. Totally fine. I come to the gym six times a week for two hours and know the frontline staff on a first-name basis. Today, Gustavo was working at the desk, and I asked him to open the door. He requested my phone number, I suppose to verify my membership, as he's never done this in the past. He verified my Platinum membership, which is okay because I suppose he was being thorough today. Immediately after he opened the door for me, a young lady approached him and asked him to hold the door open for her, and he did so--without verifying her membership. I don't appreciate the fact that I was personally singled out today and felt discriminated against, especially as a woman of color. If you're going to be thorough and check memberships, don't only check mine. I've never had an experience like this before. I love my gym, but I don't appreciate any form of microaggressions or personal misconduct. I hope this can be addressed appropriately so that all members are treated consistently and fairly. read more

I would not recommend this business to anyone. They misled my husband and I into a contract of more personal training sessions than we were originally told or wanted. We were not able to see the contract, they just had us sign on a small signature pad. We were told the only way to cancel was through management, we emailed and went in person multiple times before we were able to meet with management. I called and emailed them multiple times, NO RESPONSE. If you are trying to get a personal training this place is the LAST place to go. Lack of professionalism, communication, and just full of irresponsibility. Emailed EOS fitness, no response. I don't know if they ever read emails or what. I reached out to Raul, he said I called and texted to cancel the training. I never did, and that is why I showed up to the gym. Now he is lying about the things I never did. It looks like this gym just scam people who are genuinely trying to workout, so if you are thinking about signing up for the membership as well as the personal training, just go find a different gym. Today was the reason I'm leaving this review. They appear to try and save money by turning on the AC later. It was so hot and muggy inside, the floors even became wet. It was so dangerous I ended up leaving the gym. This gym is a mess. For a gym that is not 24 hours, you'd think they'd upkeep and clean up more during closed hours but they do not. They also do repairs/maintenance/cleaning in the middle of prime morning time which again doesn't make sense since they're not 24 hours. It's been on a decline since the Golds to eos transition and it's almost at the bottom. There are also some weird people who make me uncomfortable (even as a guy) and management/owners do nothing about them. The only good thing about the gym are the front desk staff. I like the equipment at this location, but it's consistently overcrowded. The cleaning supply stations are often empty, and many members don't wipe down machines after using them. I think EōS should do a better job of reminding members to clean up after themselves. I've also noticed that some people spend over 30 minutes on a single machine while recording content and working out in large groups, making it difficult for others to use the equipment. This is the only EōS location where I've consistently experienced these issues. read more

Do not sign up for a membership here. I tried to cancel mine and they have made it nearly impossible. I spoke with customer service, and they told me my membership would be closed on 4/25/26, but it still hasn't been canceled. They continue trying to charge my card. I also called my home location, and they assured me the cancellation was pending. It's now July, and they're still attempting to bill me. This is completely unacceptable and incredibly frustrating. At this point, it feels like they're more interested in continuing to take people's money than honoring cancellation requests. I would not recommend this gym based on my experience. read more

When this location was Gold's Gym, it felt exclusive and intentional. The higher membership cost made sense because it came with: A more serious, focused training environment Generally higher-caliber members who respected the space Great hip music that matched the gym culture An overall sense of quality, pride, and identity tied to the Gold's brand It wasn't just "a gym" - it was Gold's. That name had meaning, history, and standards behind it. Since the switch to EOS, the entire atmosphere has changed, and not for the better: There's more crowding, more kids and casual traffic, and a lot less respect for the space. The environment feels louder, less focused, and less intentional. Equipment seems to be breaking down more often, and overall maintenance/quality doesn't feel at the level it once was. On top of that, original Gold's members have taken a clear loss: Our prices did not go down, even though the brand and experience downgraded. We lost the benefit of going to the Venice "Mecca" location 14 times a year, which was a major selling point for many of us. We originally signed up and paid a premium for Gold's Gym - a brand with a strong legacy in bodybuilding, fitness culture, and standards. We did not sign up for a generic, budget-style gym experience. The whole transition feels like a money grab, where the company benefits from the Gold's legacy and pricing, but delivers a completely different, lower-tier product under EOS. As original Gold's members, we've essentially been stripped of the brand, the benefits, and the atmosphere we paid for, without any real compensation, price adjustment, or meaningful acknowledgment. In short: We didn't pay to be members of just any regular gym. We paid for Gold's - for the brand, the culture, the quality, and the access that came with it. With the change to EOS, the value proposition has shifted dramatically, and long-time members like myself feel misled, devalued, and shortchanged. read more

DO NOT GET PERSONAL TRAINING HERE. Go somewhere where people are actually passionate about health, wellness, and providing quality service to their community because you won't find that here. Quick to charge you but when it comes to refunding you money for a "mistake" they made, you will get the run around. (I have yet to see the $200 that I was told was being processed since 1/31!) Managers are not helpful, prolong addressing issues, and neglect viable concerns. Save yourself the headache. Fitness manage Raul will no show and take no accountability. Manager Tahlia will say she exhausted all her efforts to get you your refund then never follow up with results. And general manager Ed could careless about helping and scurry away when you attempt to have an in person conversation about the issue. Long story short, this box gym entity is not the place to entrust with your fitness journey or additional investments of time and money. It's a shame because the gym it's self is decent but could use more frequent maintenance checks and an upgrade in management ethics. read more
