I'm so incredibly excited that I found a place where the coaches care and celebrate a victory after each session - no literally, after each class the Coach asks if anyone is celebrating a victory and when someone is done speaking the entire class cheers! This is the type of environment you want to be in if you're looking to build friendships and really push yourself to the limit. I think my favorite part is pairing up with others from the class because it forces you to socialize with others who have similar goals as you. This place has quickly become somewhere I can go to let out some steam, somewhere I can go to make friends and somewhere where the Coaches truly want you to succeed. It's not like a regular gym where you go in do your thing and you're out. This place takes the time to figure out what your goals are during orientation and has someone checking in through text to assure you're feeling supported. PLEASE GIVE THIS PLACE A TRY! The culture is welcoming, supportive, and encouraging; EJ is easy to relate to and while he isn't my trainer or coach, I feel safe working out there because he still keeps an eye out for everyone there. I've observed EJ with a number of his clients, and it's easy to see that he genuinely cares about what he does and who he is working with. He seems to be able to get the best out of clients of all ages--both younger athletes looking to "improve their game" and those of us who are young at heart who are trying to get back in shape or just maintain. Coach Josh, Jazzmine, Kevin and Brenda have their own style and structure which is awesome to experience in the week. They each demonstrate the techniques and sets before you begin and assist if they see you need some adjustments. There was never a moment where I felt intimidated regardless of the gibberish (KBXC language) they write on the white boards. You learn to make sense of it all while watching your neighbor or reciting the code for yourself. I am always motivated and engaged and keep coming for more. I've been learning new ways to train and kickboxing has been keeping my mind and body agile. Another huge plus is the flexible schedule. I mentioned it to him right then and there and he said it happens and that it should go away same day. His prices are extremely affordable and he lets you workout as many times as you want if your body can take it lol definitely recommend! He also incorporates boxing mitt drills in your sessions which is also cool. Typically sessions are about an hour. Every time I train with him my shirt is soaked like I dipped it in a pool of water. There have been issues before with payments processing due to their billing system, but this time my payment, which was due on the 8th, wasn't processed and my membership was closed within the same week. When I called the membership department, I was told there was nothing they could do because the gym now has a waitlist--a policy I was never informed about. I was simply told there was no way to reinstate my membership. I then went to the gym to speak with the manager in person. During our conversation, he smiled and laughed while I explained the situation, took down my contact information, and told me he would "see what he could do." I never received a call. When I returned to follow up, I was immediately told there was nothing they could do, again with a smile. If there was never any intention of helping, why ask for my contact information and give me false hope? After being a loyal member since the gym opened, it's disappointing to see that customer loyalty and seniority seem to mean very little. My experience left me feeling dismissed and disrespected. My Fiancé also had a grandfathered membership and he had his canceled as well as we will not be supporting a gym that prioritizes money over their customers. If you're a grandfathered member, be aware that your membership may not be protected if there's ever a billing issue. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this gym.
