Kickboxing isn't as scary as it sounds! This is something I've wanted to try for years but the fear…read moreof failure and looking silly made me wait this long to join. I'm so incredibly excited that I found a place where the coaches care and celebrate a victory after each session - no literally, after each class the Coach asks if anyone is celebrating a victory and when someone is done speaking the entire class cheers! This is the type of environment you want to be in if you're looking to build friendships and really push yourself to the limit. I think my favorite part is pairing up with others from the class because it forces you to socialize with others who have similar goals as you. This place has quickly become somewhere I can go to let out some steam, somewhere I can go to make friends and somewhere where the Coaches truly want you to succeed. It's not like a regular gym where you go in do your thing and you're out. This place takes the time to figure out what your goals are during orientation and has someone checking in through text to assure you're feeling supported. PLEASE GIVE THIS PLACE A TRY! YOU WON'T REGRET IT!

I just wanted to share some feedback about Mike at UFC Gym La Mirada. He made my enrollment process…read moreincredibly smooth from start to finish. He was professional, approachable, and took the time to clearly walk me through everything without making it feel overwhelming. What stood out the most was how easy he made the whole experience, he answered all my questions, stayed patient, and made sure I felt confident with my decision. That kind of service really sets the tone for new members. Mike is definitely an asset to the team and represents the gym very well. Appreciate the great experience.

I joined UFC Gym La Mirada four years ago after one Jiu-Jitsu trial class with Coach Anthony…read moreRenteria, and that single class changed my path completely. Anthony wasn't just a coach -- he built athletes. He mentored, developed, and inspired students like me to grow beyond what we thought was possible. The Jiu-Jitsu program had identity, structure, and leadership. Recently, Coach Mikey Alcantar has been a great addition. He's skilled, motivating, and brings high-level instruction to the mats. The students genuinely respect him However, it's frustrating to see the gym consistently fail to retain quality Jiu-Jitsu coaches. Strong leadership keeps a program alive, and the instability has affected the community. On top of that, the Jiu-Jitsu class schedule is limited and not flexible enough for working adults. Serious students need consistent training opportunities. Because of poor coach retention and restricted class times, many dedicated students have felt forced to leave and train elsewhere. The gym has potential -- but without stable coaching and better scheduling, it's difficult for the Jiu-Jitsu program to thrive long term.
