This is a great place for a full-body workout, especially if you take the "Circuit" class. I have tried a few of the different classes and I always get a very thorough workout. Myles is an extremely competent instructor. He always keeps the attendees of his class motivated. He explains the moves clearly. And he provides personal help if you need it or request it. Hi.. I returned back to this kick boxing gym at 7 months postpartum. I love the little changes! As a mom I love the little section for kids if we need to bring them. So thanks for that! They have a lot of new instructors and I can't wait to try them all. So far I've tried coaches Christian and Myles. They are both very patient and knowledgeable. They have great energy. I'm sure the other coaches are just as fun. They also have a kids class which is so cute. The parking is very easy. They have 2 bathrooms which are clean and much appreciated. A locker area for your belongings. I find the unlimited membership fits my lifestyle and is the most cost effective w how much I go. I'm in several dance studios and open gyms but this is by far my favorite. Such great community and space. read more

These kickboxing classes at KickHouse get me so sweaty - probably the sweatiest I've ever been! The circuit class I took is a full body workout that not only implements different routines to hit the bag, but during our 1 minute transition period - we have to do some sort of ab or cardio exercise to keep the blood flowing. It's a great workout! The coaches are patient and super sweet, and you can tell how passionate they are about their work and their students. One thing I will say is that the first time I went there, I was a bit lost going to the studio because my map takes me to the back of the class (near Subway sandwiches) .But luckily they're rather chill with being late to class and there is a good amount of parking. This review is for the ownership and not location-specific. I did a trial class at the Yorba Linda location 2 weeks ago. They sold me a 3-month pre-pay membership. 4 days later, they sent an email stating they were "permanently closing" and no longer offering classes. They have yet to respond to the email they provided and no one has reached out to provide information on a refund. I have disputed the charge with my CC company but wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. They did offer in their closing email to "transfer the memberships" to Los Alamitos, but I don't know who would be willing to drive 35 min. to a different location. Question to ownership... Why are you taking new client sign-ups and upselling pre-payment memberships if you know you are closing your location within the week? It seems super unethical and bad business if you ask me. read more

I used to feel like management and coaches at KickHouse genuinely cared about their members, but my recent experience trying to cancel my membership today was awful, especially when dealing with the employee named Chase. I had texted the studio to request cancellation due to a sudden life change where I will no longer be anywhere near this kickboxing gym. Upon doing so, they just proceeded to ask me to update my payment information since my card on file had expired. Chase then called me multiple times, sending messages with multiple question marks when I just couldn't answer immediately which seemed a little excessive and unnecessary. When I was able to get back to him, he informed me that I would be charged for both the current month and August, but if I had notified them five days earlier, I wouldn't have been charged for August (not sure why I need to be charged for a month I will not be attending). I asked if he could connect me with management about possibly waiving the August charge since I had just found out about my move, but he, claiming to be a manager himself, immediately said the owner would decline without even considering my request because he "knew him" and "knew that he'd say no cause it's within their policy". Chase showed no compassion. I would have appreciated him at least putting that effort into assisting me even if that was the outcome but he made the entire experience an unpleasant one. It's just unfortunate that I'm leaving this once-thriving studio that I would consider a home away from home or an escape from life with now feeling like they've become a money hungry company who don't actually care about their customers, regardless of the reason. read more

This past November I decided to look into finding ways to de-stress after a long day of working an 8 to 5 and at the same time to get fit. Well let me tell you, after Googling, Yelping, Facebooking and IG searching, I finally responded to an AD for a 6 week challenge on either FB and IG for KickHouse Los Alamitos. I then received a text message from Jessica to come in for a consult and get further information. When I made it to my consult, there was a class that was ongoing and I met one of the coaches Jacob. He discussed what the entails in the different classes and what the 6 week challenge was all about . I signed up immediately that same day! Took my first class Monday night after work and I initially felt anxious and nervous for doing something I have never done before and out of my comfort zone. But as soon as I checked in, the coach for the class Alx went over the general techniques and made me feel at ease. The other KickHouse members were also helpful and supportive in my first class that I felt comfortable and made me feel like I have been a regular KickHouse member. The class consisted of a 45 min full body workout and it made me sweat like I've never sweat before. My first week I did 4 classes in a row because I enjoyed going to class and was able to put all my stress and worries in my workout! After 6 weeks and completing my challenge, I lost 18 lbs and lost 4.2% of body fat. The place is clean and sanitized as the coaches have us wipe down the bags after class. The coaches also sanitize the mats by spraying and mopping it down with disinfectant after every class and before the next class starts. The coaches (Jacob, Jackie, Kacie, Steffany) are all amazing as they all have their own variations of doing different workouts and each class is never is same. All in all, if you're looking into having fun and getting fit at the same time then KickHouse Los Alamitos is the place for you! read more

I found this place from an IG ad for the 6 week challenge and decided to join and test the waters with kickboxing. The atmosphere at this gym is great -- the trainers are awesome and pack some major sweat-inducing workouts into 45 minute classes! There are different trainers so if you go at different days/times, you'll have a great variety of workouts all from one place. There's also a KickHouse app that makes it super easy to check class times and book sessions that start as early as 5AM and end late as 8:15PM (depending on the day). It's a sanitary gym that gives enough space for everyone and their punching bags even when at full capacity. As for the 6 week challenge, I did notice an overall difference in my physical appearance and by the 3 week mark, I had lost ~5 lbs. The issue was that I was only 1% down on body fat despite following the program and even doing my own workouts or walks on days I couldn't make it to class. I highly doubt that I'm going to get my deposit back, but I'm looking at the bright side of it. Being at kickhouse these past few weeks has helped me improve my lifestyle significantly and gets me moving after spending all day sitting in front of a computer. Will update my review after my weigh out! **Note: Their in-house protein is awesome so I highly suggest giving that a try as well -- I know I'm hooked! I joined the 6 week challenge after answering an insta ad about losing 25lbs or 6% body fat in 6 weeks. I was honestly in disbelief and hesitant to join. Luckily my impulsive nature signed up and gave it a chance. I had a friend mention how fun kickboxing was and its always been in the back of my mind to try it out. Yes going through a challenge is hard but having supportive members and coaches encouraging you through the way made a huge change! I did not meet either of those goals but I did win in other aspects of leading a healthier lifestyle, learning how to eat better, listening to my body and what it needs...and I'm not winded when I go upstairs anymore! The facility itself is clean and there's no typical musty gym stench. The staff cleans the mats and disinfect the equipment after every class. Throughout this pandemic I gained 55 lbs. I was struggling to lose them even though I was an athlete and was pretty in shape before. Can't speak highly enough of the trainers and members who workout here. They are great. Two stars speaks to policy. Cancellation policy is too rigid and too high: 6 hour window or it's $15. No accommodations are made ever. Also, I wanted to cancel my membership but bc they require a 30-day window AND they charge you on a rolling 30-day basis, you have to write in the day you'd normally be charged to make sure you can cancel before the following month is charged. Otherwise, you'll be like me and are now going to be charged AGAIN. Oh and yes, you can only email to cancel. Can't do it through the app, over the phone, or in person. So while the workout is great, the policies are garbage and soured my overall experience here. EDIT: Marie, I did in fact reach out before to request a cancellation fee be removed and you once again did what you did here, remind me of the policy. And I was once again met with zero empathy or compassion. I have the texts if you'd like to see them again (8/1/21). ILKB was I think a 2 or 4 hour window to cancel with a $5 no show/cancel fee. I just started attending the Kickhouse in Los Al last month because I wanted to get back to the groove of things when my former studio closed down. So far, I really love how supportive and friendly the coaches and my classmates are and I love how no class is the same and that every class has different techniques and moves to learn! This review was meant for 2022 but I didn't get around to this until now. The coaches and the classes are pretty cool but management isn't. In the ads we saw for the fitness challenge we were under the impression that it was a free trial but in truth you pay for the classes ahead of time and only get your money back if you lose the weight. I got sick and was out for a month and they refused to return the money since I couldn't complete the challenge. Their not really transparent with their prices either you either have to get them in person or over the phone. I recommend staying away from their challenges and just pay per class to avoid losing any money if you get sick. read more

I was a Kickhouse member for about 4 months. One day, the owner messaged me on Facebook messenger. She briefly introduced herself and asked if I had ever received any inappropriate messages from one of her male coaches. I knew who she was talking about because she stated his name and I had gone to some of his classes. I had never met the owner or had any interaction with her before she messaged me this weird message. I was furious at getting the message but I didn't respond to her that day because I don't like responding when angry. I was upset because she had no reason to ask me that question. Weeks went by and she never messaged me again, so I messaged her because I wanted an explanation as to why she messaged me. When I reached out to her, she was very rude and didn't have an answer. At that point I was pretty sure she didn't have a real reason to message me in the first place and was doing something she shouldn't have. A few days later I found out that this coach left Kickhouse. I feel that there was no reason to bring me into whatever situation was going on between the coach and the owner. It should've never happened. After the rude message I got, I felt uncomfortable going to Kickhouse. I did love it prior to that incident. However, you should let your customer feel this way. If she couldn't offer me an explanation, she should've made it right some other way. read more

I love this place! Just joined a few weeks ago and I can't say enough about it. They are so friendly! The staff, owner and other members make you feel so welcome. I've worked out at many different gyms over the years and have never had it's members be so welcoming. The workouts are amazing and the trainers are so helpful. They're right there when you need them. While you're working out...the time goes so quickly because the workouts are so engaging. I'm doing their 6-week challenge and it's the easiest workout routine/nutrition plan I've ever done. A big plus, the facility is very clean and well maintained.
