The SMOG test spot I normally got to shuttered so luckily I found EZ Smog on here. I called tor an appointment but he told me to just come in. I managed to get my car tested during my lunch break and I actually made it back in time. I simply drove in from La Brea, pulled in, waited outside and then pulled out on San Vicente. $60 ish with processing included and I was able to pay my registration within a couple of hours. A very painless experience just now at EZ Smog. Called in beforehand and got a $60 quote. The price is for cash and for card there's a 3% added feed. I think they have a coupon on their site but I forgot to mention it. Valentin helped me out and he was really professional and kind. I could've easily gone to any other smog place in my neighborhood, but this place was highly recommended by a friend who lives down the street from here. This is where he dad took her car when he was in town. My first visit was on a Saturday afternoon. There were about 3 cars ahead of me. Each car took no more than 10 minutes. The mechanic who was there that Saturday took the time to explain to me that my car wouldn't pass smog because whichever mechanic worked on my car previously turned off the monitor for some reason. He advised me to drive the car for at least 100 miles. So drive I did. I drove it for over 200 miles because why not. I came back the next day and explained the events of the day before to the mechanic on duty. He knew exactly what was up. After quickly checking, he confirmed that Frankie (yes, my car has a name) was ready. Less than 10 mins later, I was good to go. Wish I could give these pricks negative stars. I went there and they gave me some bs about how they couldn't pass me because my battery got replaced. I'll be the first to admit I don't know cars. But it seemed ridiculous. So months passed and I went back today. Learned I had a crack in my manifold or whatever. And they didn't want to "fail me again" as it is I am pretty low income and the smog test costing 60 dollars is a lot for me. It's very frustrating that the two times I go they find some ridiculous answer to not pass me. Idk how smog tests operate but like not all cars have computers or whatever. My husband took his truck here because it was close by. His truck passed the smog test but come to find out, a mechanic many years ago replaced his catalytic converter to one that isn't legal in California. Well, between working full time and trying to find a price under 1,000 to replace the part, it took us over a month to finally get it fixed. Mind you, the truck always passes, it is just that this converter didn't have the right numbers on it! He takes his truck back here and because it was over 30 days they charged him AGAIN! Many smog places don't even charge you if it doesn't pass. We will NOT be going back to this place again. read more

The name, "EZ Smog" is most appropriate. Getting a smog test is a hassle, but EZ Smog is the easiest and most hassle free of any place I've been to for a smog check. I've been here three times and it's always been good! All they do are smog checks. That's it. You drive up and literally drive through! It's $60, but they tell you up front. No surprises. Here's the cost breakdown: $51.75 Smog inspection $1.75 Electronic Transfer Fee $8.25 California Certificate Fee Total: $60 You drive up and wait in their waiting room. They have bottled water and TV while you wait. They even leave you the remote so you can watch whatever you want while you wait. They are a "Star Certified" smog check station, and not all of them are. If you need a smog check and you're in the area, I highly recommend EZ Smog. You might be able to find a cheaper place to do your smog check, but to me, the simplicity of going to EZ Smog is worth the price. read more

What a hassle. Tech took forever and made me feel like I was trying to pass off OEM exhaust as aftermarket. Grilled me on my ownership history, and since the headers wet not stamped "Porsche" said he couldn't verify - even after I pulled up parts diagram on my phone for him to refer to. My car is 100% stock with no modifications! I left, went to the place down the street, and had a 10 minute inspection and "Pass"- oh- and for $10 less. Been going to this place since about 2010, I've smogged 6 of my cars and 2 of my wife cars. They USED to be super awesome. My smog and reg came up for renewal so I took it down and the guy asked if my catalytic converter was new... I said yea, I had it changed because the CEL came on before the last inspection and I did it to pass the smog check, maybe 2017. He said I needed paper work to show it was CARB/Cal BAR approved, and I was like.... You need to see my receipt for the service? Aren't you supposed to read the EOD number on the cat and look it up yourself? He said no, and I said, you passed me last time after I had it installed. He asked to see PROOF that I went there before! LOL. I pulled out 3 receipts showing him. He said he wouldn't pass my car because I needed proof that the catalytic converter was legal.... and he wanted to charge me $170 which was more than 2x the price from 2017. Unreal. Customer loyalty obviously means nothing to these guys. Imagine if my grams, or someone who knows nothing about cars went there and they were like- Show me this part is legal.... Like, dude, you want my 85 year old grama to try and figure out about some part that YOU should be knowledgeable about..... eeerrrrr OhKaaaaaay! Bye. read more

My engine light came on and he ran a diagnostic for me, helped adjust the wiring of my computer system bc the receptor was lost in the box, gave me advice on what might need to be fixed and how to compare prices. I felt like I was talking to a warm friendly father. He was so helpful in recommending how to solve my issue even though there was nothing in it for him, because by law his shop cannot repair only do smog checks.
