I've been going to this location since it was Dr. Mendelson's clinic, and he was the only optometrist I saw for probably 20 years. I assume he's retired. Fortunately the doctors who have replaced him are as friendly and thorough as he was. I've always had good experiences here. Recently I needed to replace my glasses and sunglasses, and as luck would have it they had a very good sale on. Considering how expensive their selection usually is, I was very glad. Normally their glasses are out of my price range and I end up taking my prescription elsewhere to be filled. This time I was able to afford everything I needed. Their selection of sunglasses is rather limited but they do have lots of regular eyewear to choose from. The storefront is clean, bright and spacious. Desk staff are always friendly and helpful. This will probably always be my go-to optometry clinic. read more

The business doesn't care about the client. The manager is rude, obnoxious, and focused on money only. Save your money and your self-respect and go somewhere else. read more

This place is absolutely not run right a woman by the name of hardeep isn't professional at all my son is deaf and severely disabled and has a hard time seeing with his old prescription and he went here for his first time ever and where he is in care of the government still they faxed over a purchase order several times and this hardeep woman is basically saying she won't release his glasses until they receive payment keeping my disabled kids glasses hostage here in Canada we don't do that. Especially when the government gets involved and sends a purchase order to the place where my son went to which is a promise to pay she was very unprofessional and if you don't understand how to work maybe you shouldn't be working in a place like this then. read more

Friendly staff but very slow service. They told me it could take up to 4 weeks for my glasses and I am still waiting. Now when I call they are saying 6 to 8 weeks. If I could go back in time I would choose a different eye glass store. read more

Me and my parntner went to eyes on mumford on January the 20 to get our eyes examed we the went for their 3 for one deal. When we left we were told that our insurances were covering the whole amount we have a receipt that said that we owed nothing. On February the 10 i called to see if our glasses were ready as we were told that they would be in then, we were told that their office made a mistake and we now owed 400 more dollars. During the 3 weeks nobody from their office tried to contact me or my husband. I work in customer service and told them that theirs was the worst service that i have ever had. Their manager just said she knows that and is sorry. I told her that we realise that people make mistakes but for them to not to contact us was unbelievable. I asked about canceling the glasses and we would go somewhere else we were told that the lenses were already ordered and we could not cancel. We talked to the manager about getting some sort of discount she never gave us a clear answer so we went down to their office to pay the bill. When we got there on the 14 of February I said that I wanted to pay the bill so they told us that it was 210 dollars so we figured the manager gave us a discount for the inconvenience. They told us that they would put a rush on the order and to call in a week. So i called on February the 20 no glasses I called every day for a week i have been told by their office that they were there and i could pick them up however went i called the next day to make sure that they were there i was told not they were not there and they don't know who told me that I was also told by the manager that they would be done on March the 6 at the latest she guaranteed it. However i got a call on March the sixth stating that something was wrong with the coating and that the doctor would not sign off on it it had to sent back to the lab and for the inconvience she would give me a discout on my balance i said what balance as we had already paid she told me no we did not pay it all we only gave a desposit We were unaware of this as the second time we were in there they never gave us a recipt although that means nothing as the first one said that we owed nothing. I emailed the company that owns eyes on Mumford and got no response. I emailed Kendra's (the manager)boss and recived no response. When my glasses came in at 7 weeks i got a call at 5pm on a Friday when they close at 6pm that i could come get them and that i owed 105 now. Long story short I recommend that no one ever go to this business unless you want to be told a bunch of lies as they seem to feel that they are always right no matter what. like really 7 weeks for a pair of glasses. read more

Terrible quality products and they will not do anything to help when they fall apart. They claimed I had cataracts, but when I went to another Optometrist I was told I don't. They just wanted to milk me for new glasses every 6 months. read more

After having a 450 pm apt for an eye exam booked I wasn't expecting to be still waiting at 530 . Was checked in but waiting on Dr Chow who apparently was overbooked. After his initial questions and asking me to read lines on an eye chart his sarcastic " do you have a driver's license?" ... yes I wear reading glasses my vision is fine for distance . After telling him before he was going to dilate my eyes I've never had that done as I have to drive home , he says not sure how it will affect you driving could be light sensitive, I declined as I need to drive me car home . He said I'd have to return to get the exam completed, I said I've been here for almost an hour after being up working all day ... he's uncalled for response was " I've been here since 9 am without a bathroom break " I've never had any Dr speak like this and felt it was extremely unprofessional. Wouldn't recommend going here for any service !! Also was told my exam would be approximately $170 read more

So an update on Eyes on Mumford. 1 hour after I wrote my last review I got a phone message apologizing for my experience. The lab guy finally returned her phone call. The equipment had broken down and he was behind. My glasses are in the finale stage and will be done soon. Alright, issue 1. I know for a fact from a past job working in a call center dealing with contact lenses. If your lab has broken equipment you are notified right away. You then get in touch with the customers to advise them of this delay. Issue 2. You blew me off until I wrote this review and then you explain what happened. If I had been told about this I would have been okay with a delay. As I was given no explanation for the delay I was not okay. A few days latter my glasses come in, but there is a problem. Somehow the lab made one eye a brown transition lens and the other eye a gray transition lens...WHO MAKES GLASSES LIKE THIS?! Was the thought that screamed through my head. I was speechless on the phone when I was told this. My jaw hanging open as I tried to process this mess up. If I was the lab worker and saw this order, I would have stopped and called the store to confirm this customer wanted two different coloured transition lenses. The store then would have called me to confirm what colour I wanted. It was brown btw. At this point I was done. I waited till I got off work and went to the store. I waited until the clerk was free and I asked for my money back. I was not rude, I was polite but firm. She tried tried to offer me a free pair of sunglasses, I declined. I just wanted my money back and to go somewhere else for my glasses. She advised that the owner had to okay all refunds. I had to wait to find out if I would or not. I thankfully was given one. I will be given a cheque on Monday. Please use my experience to improve your store. A lot of this could have been avoided with communication and honesty about what the delay was. If your lab truly did not tell you equipment was broken I would either look for a new lab or create procedures for if this ever happens again and how to notify customers. Thank you for giving me my money back. I do appreciate that. read more

Absolutely the most disappointing experience! On ordering new glasses my husband was assured delivery in 2-4 weeks ( which is in itself absurd). By week 6 he was pretty frustrated, not just by non-delivery, but by neglect of staff to return calls or respond to emails. When contact finally made we were told glasses would be delivered Monday, then Tuesday then Wednesday etc. Our ordeal with this shoddy outfit is finally over. Best of luck to those who are dealing with them!! read more

These people are so unreasonable and their service is the worst. Don't waist your time and money. They gave me a prescription and I got my glasses which I could not wear for a second. I had to call them multiple times to find a solution and finally after they got me an appointment and someone did the "troubleshooting", the result was "problem with prescription" When I was on my way home they sent me an email that the troubleshooting cost was 60$!!!! They didn't tell me anything when I was there and I still have to call them everyday and my problem persists and no valid prescription, no glasses and no answer. THEY ARE THE WORST read more

I have visited the doctor  for my eyes prescription and realised there is something wrong With the prescription and I have contacted back to the eyes on MumFord for a prescription troubleshoot and they book me an appointment and And what they did is they just wrote it down in a piece of paper what I feel about wearing those glasses and they said They will forward it to the doctor and will let me know before 29th of October where I did my Troubleshoot on 25th where I  was not able to meet the doctor as they said they will only forward my concerns to the doctor and I'm waiting for a week now as of nov 8 and they're pushing it Day by day saying they will give an update but not yet and I'm concerned really about my eyes and my eyes are really screwed up watery eyes , headaches and cant focus , my eyes are screwed up right now after wearing the wrong prescription from doctor, who is going to be responsible for my eyes. Note: i was said that if i would visit the location for the update and the reception lady said if i wait there until the location closes and waiting for an update, she would call the security and kick me out Perfect place for eye patients I bet read more

This is the worst place to go getting glasses. They gave me progressive lenses for my first ever pair of glasses, did not adjust them for me, spent 3 months back and forth trying to be able to see with these, then they informed me the frames were bent during manufacturing which increased my lack of ability to get used to the glasses. Wanted to charge me more for better lenses stating they only gave me the cheapest lens, then refused to refund me when I asked, they waited until the 3 month refund return policy kicked in and said I was no longer entitled to a refund as I was a couple of days out of the return dates for a refund. Then refused to help me anymore with Glasses I over paid for that were no good to me and gave me an e-mail address to write a complaint to. read more

I've been going to the Mumford location for about 10 years. Never had an issue. Though the staff has changed over the years, they've always been and continue to be very friendly, welcoming and helpful. My most recent experience was the best one so far. A big shoutout to Jocelyn who really knows glasses and what works and what doesn't - I love the honesty and am happy with the new glasses! In the past I have had to take my glasses back due to a broken lens, frame issues, etc. (some my fault, some not) and they repaired them without question, quickly and under warranty. You can go back in any time to get your frames adjusted. I have tried other places but came right back here. Just keep in mind that though some place like Walmart or an online store may seem cheaper up front, the long-term cost will be more. You will not get the great service and warranty like you can here. read more

I visited EoM this afternoon and would like to express my appreciation to the staff for their thoughtful and helpful assistance. The actual eye exam was carried out in a competent and professional manner but I was especially impressed with Jasmine and Victoria who guided me in my choice of glasses and presented several scenarios which would fulfil my specific requirements with a price point that enabled me to order the glasses I wanted. Very pleased with their willingness to answer my numerous questions and accommodate my wishes and the final price was more than competitive so I offer my highest recommendation. RD read more

.:. WARNING .:. Avoid 'Eyes On Optometry Group' http://eyesonoptometrygroup.com/ The company and their staff are deceptive, unethical, unprofessional, incompetent, and offers inferior product[s] and eyeglass lens technology at their 'local lab' [which by all accounts is staffed by one technician person that they refer to as "he" servicing the entire Halifax / Dartmouth market with six locations The company is also NOT accredited or registered with BBB [Better Business Bureau] I ordered Eyeglasses in November 2017 from their dark / dimly lit Lacewood location, and waited three weeks, when I got the glasses home, I later noticed that there were defects in the lens AR / UV 'anti glare' and 'scratch resistant' coatings referred to as 'crazing' holes and scratches caused by improper lab manufacturing procedures, processes, and quality control. I brought the eyeglasses back in to their Lacewood location, the staff there seemed to not believe or acknowledge and denied that anything was wrong with the eyeglass lenses and placed blame on me the customer [accusing me of cleaning the lenses with improper solutions or leaving them in heat] After insistance they agreed to send them back to the lab to be "redone" with new lenses under warranty, waited another three weeks and get the glasses back again in late December, this time they are in worse condition than before, again sales staff deny anything wrong, and I demanded to speak to a manager or owner and told nobody is available until after holidays finally meet with a manager at their main location in early January 2018 to show defects in eyeglass lenses, again the manager denies and can NOT see anything wrong with the lenses until they are shown the defects with under an ultra violet light, and finally agree there is in fact something wrong, again the lenses were sent back to their 'local lab' to be 'redone under warranty'; this time it took four weeks waiting time until I finally called them asking what was happening with my eyeglasses; they called back a day later and said the glasses were ready. Again went back to their main Mumford location in early February, and again there were defects in the eyeglass lens coatings and told there can be no more repair work done under warranty or refunds given. in addition to all of this denial, frustration, inconvenience, unprofessionalism and incompetence, long wait times, the sales staff did NOT offer a 'buy one get second pair FREE' deal as advertised on their website, and the lab technician or somebody else within the company damaged the plastic on the frames. I also do NOT believe in any of the redo / repair cases did this this companies' lab technician ever use 'NEW' lenses; but rather removed the defective coatings and just reapplied 'NEW' coatings Avoid this unprofessional SCAM company and go to COSTCO, or WALMART, they send their glasses to labs in Toronto where there are qualified technicians, wait times are not as long, and customer service is much better...Eyes On Optometry Group sucks! total S H I T Show filing a complaint with BBB [Better Business Bureau] read more

In response to your argument of "you and your staff already told us about the MSI coverage and having eye exams every second year" 1. You are in a business that you should know better than your patrons. Don't try to defend yourself based on what you had told us a year ago. You should look at the fact that indeed it was two weeks ago your staff at Lacewood location who told us that MSI will cover the eye exam under the request of the doctor before she booked us in. Too many things could have changed in a year. Between what you said you had told me a year ago versus something I was just told two weeks ago, which one will you follow if you are a reasonable normal person? Moreover, I did take a precautionary approach by asking your staff that my understanding was that MSI only covers eye exams every second year but she told me that we will be covered even when she knew our insurance coverage will expire on that appointment day. The impression I was given when I spoke to your staff was that something could be wrong with my kid's eyes that's why I agreed to book an appointment with you. 2. The more technical terms you used to explain MSI coverage, the worse it looks on you. Your staff had never explained to me anything in details concerning MSI coverage except the only point she mentioned tome was MSI will cover the eye exam if under the request of the doctor. I specifically asked her that my understanding was MSI only covers eye exams every second year and her answer was MSI will cover the expense for the abovementioned reason, then she went ahead to book appointment for us. She even knew that my insurance coverage will expire on the appointment date. So please stop using the same excuse as your staff used when we showed up for our appointment. Your staff used the same excuse as yours again and again on the appointment day, which made me very frustrated because I kept telling them that I understood that but this specific staff told me differently and I wanted them to double check with this specific person at Lacewood location, which your staff at Mumford location refused. 3. Your argument of you having a note on my file indicating eye exams every second year. My question to you is have you or your staff member ever showed me my file before this recent unpleasant appointment with you? The answer is NO. I should have used this as my own argument against you by asking you this question - why your staff at Lacewood location did not bring this up to my attention when she went ahead to book an appointment for us? At the time, she should be the one who has access to my file not me on the other end of the phone line. Conclusion: please stop blaming your patrons for something you know better than them if you had never explained that to your patrons before. read more

I experienced the worst service in 6 years of being a customer. Had glasses damages in a MVA and was supposed to be 2 to 3 weeks. Called twice to see if they were in and no. The second time I was told we will call YOU when they are in. Ok I waited over a month. Was given the reason generator was down. You should inform your patrons as common courteously that there will be a delay. I expressed how disappointed I was in service and I got oh sorry to hear that. The receptionist that was serving made hardly made eye contact. Her co worker was more generous in offering to help. You have lot a customer and a bad reference. read more
