She is very patient and has a cheerful personality which puts a BIG smile on my face during my visit :) I felt very at ease in her hands. Staff was very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable - overall, a very pleasant experience, thank you :) During the comprehensive eye examination, I got my pupils dilated. Be sure to bring a pair of sunglasses with you if you're driving - you will be sensitive to lights! Or you can purchase a fashionable pair in their dispensary. The clinic carries a great selection of brand name eyewear and sunglasses! We also did something called Optomap wide-field retinal scan, which carefully and thoroughly checks the inside of the eye for any hidden eye diseases, monitors suspicious areas and changes from year to year, and confirms that everything is healthy! During the visit, I also learned that Dr. Tang specializes in contact lens wear, LASIK consultation, and Ortho-K (AOK) overnight corrective contact lens for myopia control in children. You can also make an appointment online anytime using their real-time schedule - very convenient and easy to use. I went to a trendy DT Toronto spot for my glasses and while the styles were great and the service was thorough, there was a disconnect with me having to go somewhere else to get my eyes tested before choosing my frames and lenses - a Wal-mart no less. I walked in and wanted to ask about the headaches I'd been having since getting my new glasses and Dr. Allyson took my glasses and ran them under a special machine to examine exactly what my prescription was and what they were comprised of. Thankfully everything checked out and Dr. A explained that because this was a slightly stronger prescription than I was used to that headaches were normal and to be expected. While I was happy with the individual service I received from both the Wal-mart optometrist and the store I purchased my glasses at, I think in future I would prefer to visit Dr. Allyson so I know that every part of my experience is in-house at one location. I even emailed the owner to ask for help, and I never heard back. I had to fight to talk with the doctor who did the original prescription. She finally agreed to order a new pair of glasses. I asked for them to be rushed because of the special circumstance, and she assured me they would be, but now they're telling me they'll be ready on day 8 after I ordered them. I'm sure they won't be ready. They kept telling me the original pair would be ready on a certain day and they weren't. They lie to you to appease you. They never return messages. I had to call so many times after leaving a message or being told someone would call me back. I regret ever having gone there.

Dr. Boikovitis was PHENOMENAL with her. It was the most detailed examination I have seen. He ran several eye tests and spoke to her and explained things in a way for her to understand instead of dismissing a "kid" and speaking only to the parent. We saw him again this year for a check up and again he was thorough and informative. The other employees there have been courteous and helpful in helping us select frames for her glasses. They have moved to a new location not far from the old one and it is a beautiful upgrade. Would definitely recommend this place and I will also be switching over to them for myself.

I wear progressive lenses, and usually have 2 pairs - regular and tinted. After checking my eyes, and comparing the prescription to my existing lenses, she could not believe the change. As a result, she kept me in her office for over an hour to triple check them in order to ensure that there was consistency (which there was). The end result is that I am extremely pleased with both sets of glasses - truly the definition of "As good as it gets" (aka 5 stars!)

They…read morerecommended what I thought at the time to be very expensive lenses, because they claimed, first time bifocal users had less issues adjusting to these more costly lenses. I was suspicious that I might be being up sold. After over a year there was scratch in one lense and the Eyeglass Factory replaced my lenses under their special extended warranty. They were absolutely terrific about this and I hadn't expected this level of service. I didn't even realize that the warranty was there. My prescription changed this year and I just ordered new glasses today and the newest optician to join their staff was absolutely terrific. She very carefully explained some of the newer features and options and I'm looking forward to see how blue filter sense filters will improve or protect my vision going forward. I'm pretty much careful with my money (maybe if I had more I could be more careless) but in this case selling me on the more expensive lenses was the right thing to do.
