Today I took our 9-year-old son who is severely affected by autism to see Dr. Abby. We are new to…read moreFort Collins and needed to find a doctor who could get us in for an appt quickly, because our son (who is nonverbal) popped out one of the lenses on his glasses and can't tell us where to find it :) Our son is a busy little guy who will smile at you one minute, while trying to escape whatever room he's contained in--in the next minute. And while he is normally quite joyful, our little man is terrified of doctors and will chant "Nope, Nope, Nope" as soon as we enter any sort of medical office. Dr. Abby and the team at Rocky Mountain Family Vision were truly incredible and exceeded all my expectations. When we first entered the lobby, the staff didn't mind when my son quickly grabbed a leaf off a plant and ate it, while I was attempting to fill out paperwork. Seriously, the staff didn't even flinch. Then, I was especially impressed with how the staff honored my request to not move us into the exam room until the doctor was ready to see us. You'd be surprised how rarely this request is accommodated. When my son wouldn't cooperate with the fancy equipment (to get a good picture of his eyes), the team wasn't frustrated and opted for a traditional eye exam, where Dr. Abby very patiently would shine a light near our son's eyes to evaluate his vision. It took at least 20 minutes, but she did it and we left the office with an updated prescription and a new set of glasses ordered. Other parents of children with autism can probably relate to this when I say it's super challenging when a doctor announces the appt over, when it's really not--because as parents, we have to checkout with the front desk etc. Then comes the confusion and tantrums because our kids have an especially difficult time waiting. Dr. Abby and her team let us wait in the exam room while the front desk did the checkout paperwork, so when it was time for us to leave, we walked right out the door. I would wholeheartedly recommend Rocky Mountain Family Vision and will be back. And even if the next visit doesn't go as well as today's did, I'm confident the team is up to the task.

I got my glasses from here. They are professional and I am happy with the service!…read moreRecommend for your eye check and glasses purchase!

After more than 25 years as a loyal patient, I never imagined I would be leaving this practice, but…read morethe decline in customer service has been impossible to ignore. The front desk consistently sounds irritated when patients call, as if answering questions or helping people is an inconvenience. Every interaction has left me feeling like I'm bothering them rather than being a valued patient. The most frustrating part was spending nearly $900 on contact lenses and eyeglasses with an incorrect prescription. Instead of standing behind their work and correcting the issue, I was told I would need to pay for another exam to have the prescription reevaluated. Charging a patient additional fees to address a prescription that wasn't working is unacceptable. Everyone makes mistakes, including doctors. What separates a great practice from a poor one is how those mistakes are handled. Rather than taking ownership and working toward a reasonable solution, I felt dismissed and treated like another billable appointment. It's especially disappointing because I had trusted this office with my eye care for over two decades. The previous level of care and customer service is gone. The new doctors and staff seem far less invested in their patients' experience, and that has cost them a loyal customer. Losing a patient of 25 years over a preventable issue says a lot. I will be taking my eye care elsewhere and cannot recommend this practice based on my experience.

I have had pretty good experience in the past, but this year I had a 2:40 appointment and I showed…read moreup at 2:45 due to a train and I was told that I needed to reschedule my appointment. I typically have to wait at least 10 minutes on them, but they can't wait 5 minutes for me. I told them not to worry about re-scheduling, I will go somewhere else that wants my business.

I had cataract surgery at Eye Center of Northern Colorado with Dr. Olson using LAL+ lenses. The…read moreprocess is lengthy, but that is expected with this type of procedure. The surgical team was professional, efficient, and clearly experienced. My results are excellent. I no longer need glasses, which was the goal. The billing department is a different experience. I have requested an itemized bill three separate times and have yet to receive one, while continuing to get payment demands by text without any explanation of charges. There was also an issue on the day of surgery. I had already paid nearly $10,000 in advance, yet the front desk insisted I needed to pay an additional $80 before being taken back for surgery. I did not have my wallet with me since I was not driving. After asking for a supervisor, I was told it was fine to proceed. This appeared to be due to an inexperienced staff member, but it should not happen. Overall, the medical care was excellent, but the billing and front desk processes need improvement.

My eye pressure was not measured, information on the severity of my glaucoma was never discussed, and procedures to preserve vision were never suggested. Wait times were always 45 to 60 minutes long. They just push patients through. Don't go here. Go someplace that cares about your vision.
