A friend of mine referred me here because her son also wears glasses and is about the same age. They had a great selection of smaller frames for kids faces and also take medicaid, so it was just what we needed. It was nice because while they have a lot of frames that would fit him, the ones that were available for him based on his coverage were all together. We didn't have to worry about him wanting a pair that we couldn't afford to get. He was 4, almost 5, when he first needed glasses and he wasn't thrilled with the idea. That being said, the staff was super friendly, talked to him directly and got down on his level, encouraging him to be a part of the process. We picked out a pair and were on our way. A week later, we picked them up. A day after that he broke them. ONE DAY! Ack! I called them and asked about options, thinking I was the most irresponsible parent in the world since it was less than 24 hours since we had picked up his frames. As it turns out, this is pretty common. They told me to just bring them back in and if they had another pair of lenses in stock, and if they fit his frames we could get them right away. They didn't, so we had to wait. However, they did let us take the broken ones in the mean time. A week and a half later the original pair had been trashed by a little guy that hated wearing eyeglasses :( I brought them back in with two broken arms and then got a new pair. I was unsure how this was going to work since he was resistant. It's not like he ws breaking them outright, but he'd take them off and leave them somewhere only to step on them later and things like this. I explained what was going on to the woman that works there and she offered a few suggestions and made me feel better about this transition. A couple of weeks later, his glasses were broke again and this time we had to do the same thing. This time she suggested maybe we try again on picking another frame now that he understood the value of glasses (he had time now to see better and he started to be able to read and stuff in school) but maybe he didn't like the ones he had. This worked like a charm, especially when the lady talked to him and asked him if he knew anyone else with glasses. Of course he did, as he is friends with my friend's son. We ended up finding a pair that was blue, like his and ordered these. We have probably been back 6 more times over the course of a year and a half for replacements (he's getting better with them, finally lol) and then when his eye exam was redone and prescription updated. The woman has been nothing but professional and helpful. The space is small, but laid out well. There is a children's area in the back so that my son could play when we were filling out paperwork. We have interacted with other staff as well and had the same awesome experience every time. We've come in when they're busy and when they're slow, but someone always takes the time to at least welcome you and let you know if there is going to be a wait. I don't wear glasses personally, but they seem to have a decent adult selection as well. I have nothing but good things to say about this place. I expect that we will continue to go back for years to come. Added: Oh, one thing is that if you aren't sure where you're going, the shop can be hard to find. I loaded a picture :) I think they used to be in the little salon parlor in the same lot and now they are in the larger building on the right. Hopefully the picture helps.
