She listened well to my problem with scattered light in night driving and performed tests that prior doctors omitted or ignored. This revealed that, although the cataracts in my eyes did not reduce my daytime imaging sufficiently to warrant surgery, they produced enough scattering to make driving nearly impossible. Following cataract surgery with intraocular lens implantation, performed by another doctor, both my night and day vision were essentially perfect and driving was again a safe activity. [Note: I had the IOL selected to provide in-focus distance vision, so that reading glasses are still required for close-up work. This is, unless one is satisfied with the additional scattering encountered with multi-focus IOL's, a normal and expected outcome.]

I have been to an eye place closer to me in Tavares where I get a barage of questions whether " he or I am a patient there, did we buy them there, & you have to make appointment just to have an adjustment! I signed up for Yelp just to comment on this doctor, Philip Guastella. This doctor does not care…read moreabout his patients, not does he care about making sure that the prescription he gives them is correct. He wrote a prescription for my grand mother, and when she returned a day later expressing that she did not believe the prescription was correct, he did not care to give her another exam. Instead, he wrote her a doctor's note saying that she could not drive at night, without checking her eyes again! Therefore, I took her to another doctor who examined her eyes. The 2nd doctor said the prescription that Dr. Guastella gave her was FAR too strong. He wrote her a new prescription and said she is perfectly fine to drive at night. After the visit to the 2nd doctor I called in and spoke with the Dr. Guastella at the Wal Mart Vision, and he his exact words were "it would have been a waste of time" for her to come back, because he did not feel she needed another exam. I couldn't believe a doctor would say such a thing! When I asked for a refund, since he did not provide her with adequate service, he said "absolutely not. I have been in business for 10 years, and I know what I'm doing". He said he would not give her a follow up exam or refund. He began being very rude saying he "did not have time to deal with this" and hung up on me. Please believe me when I say that I usually do not write comments or complain in regards to service, but I was SO disgusted by his behavior and attitude towards his patients, as well as to me when I called to inquire. He could not care less. Nobody deserves this type of service or careless behavior from a Doctor. .

Dr Panzo immediately identified & addressed her inflammation, prescribing the correct treatment, & she was back to normal THE NEXT DAY, feeling so well (& appreciative). We drove to see him in Mt Dora from Orlando and have become a regular patient-- he's worth the trip. Everyone in the practice was extremely professional, kind & welcoming; she was not dismissed because of age, but treated like a well-respected patient, like everyone should be. I recommend him 200%.
