A little about my journey: after gastric bypass surgery, I lost 80 pounds. Between that weight loss and two pregnancies, I wasn't happy with my body anymore. On July 23, 2025, I decided to have my first plastic surgery with a different surgeon. Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed with my results. Just a few months later, my body changed for the worse, and I felt frustrated and discouraged. That's when I found Dr. Tower. From the moment I met her, I knew she was different. During my consultation, she spent nearly two hours listening to my concerns, explaining everything in detail, and making sure she understood exactly what I wanted. I never once felt rushed. I decided to have my revision surgery with Dr. Tower on February 11, 2026, just six months after my first surgery. She replaced my breast implants and performed liposuction on my abdomen, and I honestly could not be happier with my results. The reviews…read moreare great so I felt like this would be a good choice and so far after two appointments, I really like this clinic and Dr Mailer. Before coming to Sand Lake Dermatology I had a biopsy at another clinic and was scheduled to have a carcinoma removed. I was unable to have this done at the other clinic so I booked the first appt available with Sand Lake Dermatology which was set for the end of July. Once I was able to get my records sent to the clinics, a staff member called me right away and moved my appointment to have a carcinoma removed from my face to last week. Because of the interactions I had over the phone and online with this clinic, I felt comfortable having this clinic remove the carcinoma even though I had not even seen the clinic nor doctor. While I was mildly aware of what the procedure entailed, the staff that prepared me answering questions and numbing me(Marisol and Aaron) were great and made me feel comfortable. Dr Mailer was just as nice and made me feel comfortable. I was of course aware of the dr performing the procedure, I couldn't see it and didn't feel it. The procedure is called Moh's procedure where they typically cut away the determined margin around the affected area, bandage you up and let the patient wait in the lobby while the removed specimen is being reviewed in the onsite lab. If the lab determines that not enough was removed to show clear margins, the patient is brought back in and the dr removes more repeating the process until margins are clear. In my case, the dr removed all that needed to be removed leaving clear margins so after the lab results returned after a couple of hours, I was brought back into the procedure room and the dr proceeded to stitch up my wound applying dissolving stitched under the skin and removable stitches outside. My appointment for follow up and outer stitches removal was set for one week later( this past Tuesday). I was prescribed a heavy antibiotic and advised to keep Vaseline on the stitched up area and keep it covered with a bandage that is changed daily. Once I was stitched up, I mentioned a growth I have noticed on my eyelid and the dr suggested that on my follow up appointment she would take a biopsy. So this past Tuesday I had stitches removed, the area where I had stitches seems to be healing well and it doesn't appear that there will be a heavy scar. I am happy to see this as the area that was removed was quite large and the area stitched was quite long. The nurse, Natalie numbed my face, the stitches were removed and I didn't feel anything. They also numbed my eyelid so the biopsy could be taken. This is a sensitive area so this was a bit more intense but it went quickly and the biopsy was done. I will likely have results next week. What could have been a high anxiety first procedures (I've never had any surgery or stitches) turned out to be a pretty smooth experience. I recommend consideration of Sand Lake Dermatology as the staff and Dr Mailer were great, the waiting room is comfortable and even the staff that manages scheduling, check in, check out, nurses, physicians assistants all made me feel important, individual and taken care of. I wish all medical experiences could be similar to what I experienced.

I called the office, explained my situation and that I had my implants removed in 2015 and asked if it's possible to still have breast implant illness. Whoever I spoke to basically talked me in to a consultation with Dr. Soler and since he doesn't take insurance, the consult fee was $75. Everything I read on the website led me to believe that Dr. Soler is THE BII SPECIALIST and I figured it would be worth a shot to see if I could finally get some answers. I showed up 2 minutes past my appointment and had the office calling me to see where I was (parked out front of the office). I paid the consult fee and when Dr. Soler's assistant took me back to a room, she said "so you're here for a consult to remove your breast implants?".... Ummm noooo. I made it very clear on the phone before I scheduled the consult that they were removed in 2015 and confirmed this again when I checked in, before paying the consult fee. When it was all said and done, I got no help and am now out $75. And when you're living on social security, $75 is A LOT of money. Please be careful if you're interested in scheduling a consult for breast implant illness if your implants have already been removed. There was zero reason for them to schedule a consultation so the doctor could tell me that he couldn't do anything to help me rule out BII or in general!!!
