That being said, the negatives that I have are purely coming from a sanitation perspective, as I am also a New York State licensed waxer. Never once have I seen a single technician wear a pair of gloves. That is New York State law. I also can say with confidence that every single time the technician picks up Wax on a stick, she blows on it with her mouth, which is also against New York State law. No one has ever put pressure on the freshly waxed skin, which is a technique that I was personally taught in school, but make sure that I practice while working to ensure the least amount of pain for my clients. Lastly, this is more of a personal issue, but I feel no matter what time of day I come into the salon, whoever works on me has just eaten a meal and I have to hold my breath because of the odor being exhaled directly into my face. Overall, I think that the salon is conveniently located, and appears to be beautiful- the staff is very kind, but sanitation practices are not consistent at all.

Today I came in with an appointment and I didn't request a specific person because I had only been one time before. To say that I'm upset is an understatement. The girl who took me today took an hour and 45 minutes to do a powder manicure and I left with my fingers feeling like I had crazy glue stuck all over me.. my nails and skin are glued together and none of the nails are even at ALL. I asked for coffin- they're all over the place. The girl first filed my right hand square- I asked her to taper more so the nails are coffin shaped and she absolutely had no idea how to do this. She filed so hard in the same spots that the sides of my nails are down to the skin. My nails hurt, I hate how they look and my skin is glued together. I'm so upset.
