Really have to say, super happy with this place! I lost my glasses a few days ago, and it was getting a little embarrassing to show up to work blind. I had ordered a pair online, but the delivery just wasn't going to arrive in a useful time. I went to work today, blind again. My wife stopped into Eye Vision with my prescription, and in less than an hour, she had picked out some frames and got the lenses cut. She showed up to my work with the new ones, and it completely made my day! The fact that I wasn't even there for adjustments, and that I can see perfectly is a testament to the work. A bolt fell off my glasses, which is not something that comes in an eyeglass repair kit from Walmart. As I work downtown, I wanted to find a place I could go to over lunch. They are located right on the 16th St Mall. Luckily, they weren't crazy business and was able to fix my glasses as I waited. In and out on 10 minutes. The guy I dealt with was very polite and considerate. The office is very clean and professional looking. Thumbs up! read more

I had an appointment today and it was the best experience I've ever had at an eye doctor. With my history of TBI it's hard to know when I'm having issues with seeing if it's my actual vision or visual processing, and this doctor specializes in working with TBI patients! She was amazing and she UNDERSTOOD me (eye docs in the past have treated me like I was crazy when I tried to explain that, haha)! Visual stimulation during bright sunny days or headlights at nights or lights in a club are all super disorienting to me and make it really hard to see. I'm such a visual person with SUPER sensitive blue eyes and I'm glad I was able to get some good care today (WITHOUT eye insurance too)! read more

Do yourself a favor and come here for your next exam or pair of glasses. The doctor stayed an hour and a half after closing to make sure I got my glasses. He walked me through everything he was doing and shared with me exactly how he makes the lenses. It's amazing that my last pair of glasses took 3 weeks and this took 30 minutes. The other hour was just good conversation and a free lesson in optometry!! Most authentic business I've seen in awhile. Old fashioned but does a hell of a job!! read more

My appointment at Eye Vision was professional, informative, and exactly what I was looking for in a new eye doctor. I was fitted for glasses and contacts. They even worked with me to provide contacts on my complicated traveling timeline. Many thanks! And if you've read other reviews, I was the 10:30 appointment that Christina K was referring to in her review. She showed up 13-15 min late for her appointment when I walked in ten minutes early for mine. At that point she was already yelling in the office about how she deserved to take my slot. I did not voice my option in the office and stayed quiet due to her having a child and I can imagine how difficult it can be to schedule around kids. The 1 star review from Christina is completely undeserved and the employees in Eye Vision calmly explained to her that she could not have my appointment and could wait for another slot to open or return at another time. Which is typical for ANY doctors office. All my respect goes to the employees here who were courteous to her despite this customer yelling in the office about giving this establishment a one star review because she missed her own appointment. I am writing this to straighten out this story because if I was able to, I would leave Christina a one star review as a person. read more

Rude customer service. I came in 10:13 and the doors were locked and I knocked nobody opened for me. They finally opened at 10:15, makinn me late for my appointment. I even call the office as I was waiting by the door and nobody answered. I spent my whole morning working my schedule around this appointment. They had another appointment at 1030 in which they said they had to take her first. I had a babysitter, my husband had to leave work so he could watch my kid and they just said I could wait around all morning for the next available time. Actually I called an hour before my appointment and ask if I could schedule for a different time. They said they had nothing available later. How is that my fault. I also want to point out that I had to call a few times the day before and the day of my appointment to get anyone to answer the phone. couldn't even leave a mesaage. One of my friends, who recommended this place, said that they double charged him the first time and then he had to come back to ask for a refund. Which, the front desk was about to use that refund for store credit. Who does that? Without the customers approval? Good thing he came back. My point is, waste of time...Rude service. read more

I've had glasses since I was 12, and they've always made me see...well, better. But it wasn't until I saw Sam at Eye Vision Downtown that I began to see details of landscapes and stuff in the background. WHO KNEW YOU COULD ACTUALLY SEE THE LEAVES ON TREES??? The exam was fast, and my glasses were done by the end of the day. Sam made me feel comfortable, enough so that I returned when my glasses got a little bent out of shape. Inconvenient to work with, zero customer service, manipulative sales techniques. DO NOT SHOP HERE!!! I have been a customer for almost a year and that's about as long as I could take it. I have never met a business that cared so little about doing business. Getting a pair of contact lenses has been outrageously difficult. The final straw was this last time I was told to come in at 3 only to show up to a sign that says "will return at 3:15". Apparently the employee (maybe even the owner, how sad is that?!) was in the bathroom at the time and got a notification that I had left a 1 star review while I was waiting. He showed up mad at me that I would leave a 1 star review just because he needed to use the restroom. I proceeded to tell him that's not why I left the review but he was incapable of hearing what I was saying to him. He began to get aggressive and more threatening, telling me I'm not allowed to be their customer because I left the 1star review, apparently forgetting that I had already paid them money (can't blame them since it'd been so long since I had paid for my contact). So I told him he was incompetent and he said I had to leave because I'm on his time and I'm not allowed to talk to him like that. I demanded he give me my money back while he kept arguing that I didn't have any right to leave a negative review because someone needs to use the restroom. I felt threatened by him and called him the A word in an effort to vent some fear/frustration towards the man and hopefully communicate in a way he would understand that he was not to continue bullying me anymore (since apparently other forms of communication don't work with him). I regret doing that. For the record: someone using the restroom and being 15 min late is NOT why I'm leaving this review. They uncomfortably try to pressure you into buying things, if you want to know more about the products to make a better buying decision their version of being helpful is "oh just trust me I know what's best" and then not give any useful information. I felt like I was being scammed the whole time I was there but it was my first time getting glasses so I didn't know what to expect. They made me come back over and over again, each time during work hours. I have been in the office countless times and have had a bad experience every single time. I even overheard a conversation at work once where one of my colleagues was describing their weird experience they had at their eye doctor and I asked if they had gone to Eye Vision to which they said "yeah that's crazy, how'd you know that?" All in all this last experience was by far the worst though, downright offensive and unnerving. My message to Eye Vision is that your customers lives don't revolve around your convenience, you are a business and need to learn to function like one. You said yourself you think we are on "your time" and that is not the attitude I imagine anyone would want when dealing with an entity asking for their money. If someone leaves a negative review you should seek understanding of why with humble humility, don't let your prideful ego stand in the way of your success. read more

I believe it is a family owned practice. It's a small office conveniently located right downtown on the 16th street mall. Not hard to find. They accept Medicaid, which helped me out. They (Dr. Jay and his wife as well as another man who did the actual exam) were just very warm and friendly and professional and efficient. After my exam, I picked out a set of frames, and Dr. Jay had the equiptment and experience to make my prescription glasses then and there. I was in and out with in less than an hour. Since then, I lost those glasses and moved out of state. I didn;t know if he could help me at all, I was just hoping to get my prescription # from him so I could order new glasses online. But not only did he remember me, but offered to remake the same glasses I got there originally. I got them with in two days with a very inexpensive shipping fee and the cost of the frames I had and liked before. So I want to recommend this business if anyone needs an eye exam or speedy prescription glasses and great service. I feel better giving my money to a family operation rather than a corporate one. In fact the prescription they gave me was far more accurate than Vision Works, where I used to go. Go down there and tell Dr. Jay that Julia sent you and says hello to him and his wife! read more

DO NOT GO HERE! The receptionist is incredible rude and not professional at all. After I got my exam done and left being told I had no copay or any amount due, weeks later they called me to tell me that I owed 66$ because my insurance company didn't cover it all. I asked when I called if my insurance was going to be accepted and they were in network, I was told yes. Now all of a sudden it wasn't. When I called back to discuss this, I was disrespected in every way possible. The selection of glasses is terrible, the office is dirty, and the technology is outdated. The only good thing I have to say is the actual doctor who did my exam was incredible nice. read more

This place is a huge huge scam. "Dr." Delbert Weltman is basically a business man who's goal is to sell you his own product. I ordered contact lenses from a website instead of him and he refused to verify my prescription. This is basically upsell.com. read more
