Best optometrist and optometry office in Denver. I saw Dr Lo for an updated prescription. She is warm, amazing, and knowledgeable about conditions that most MDs are not. I have a complex eye and medical history, and Dr Lo was incredibly thorough. Additionally, this is what I saw while waiting for my appointment. 1) Two elderly individuals - one a veteran - required hands-on assistance with insurance. 2) A third elderly individual on a limited budget received a prescription discount card for their pharmacy and the staffer walked through the prescription instructions slowly and clearly. 3) The eyeglass team was not trying to upsell glasses. No hard sales tactics (like I have experienced at previous offices) and they were conscientious of options if a patient was on a budget. Frames are clearly marked with prices. This place is incredible. The ladies up front in check in where incredibly kind, they all took time to help me find glasses that looked good and I felt comfortable in. Quite possibly the worst experience at a vision center I've ever had. Tldr - Pros: nice staff, good selection of glasses Cons: overpriced lenses/frames ($100+ over what online stores sell), poor communication, long wait time even with an appointment, doctor made an error on my prescription requiring me to reorder lenses My experience - During my eye exam, I waited over 20 minutes in the exam room for the doctor even though I was right on time for my appointment. Exam went great...until she told me I needed to have my eyes dilated, which I was not informed of prior to the appointment. The doctor told me not to get my eyes dilated because I drove myself so she told me to do the retinal mapping instead which costs $39 extra. So I decide to have my eyes dilated another time. Then I check out and pay and ask for my new prescription. They tell me I can't get the prescription until I have my eyes dilated! I just needed the prescription to order new glasses because mine broke out of nowhere! Finally I get my eyes dilated and they give me my prescription. I then order frames and lenses on eyeglasses.com (because I Care Vision was a ripoff for lenses and frames) just to find out that the doctor had incorrectly written the prescription! So I go BACK to I Care Vision with my new, incorrectly made glasses and they say "we apologize it was a typo." I am beyond frustrated with my experience here and will not be returning in the future. read more

I've even brought my husband in for his annuals Service is usually ok from time of greet until meeting the doctor until it's time to check out.. someone give the girl that rings you up a snack. Oh my lanta.... Let's just say she's the leading reason why I will not be returning Also not a fan of how they automatically charge you for contact exam when I didn't even get fitted for them. I specifically asked for only eyeglasses and they charge you for both and their response is that I'm leaving you with a sample of non prescription lenses so consider that your exam ?!? WTH contact lenses doesn't even fit my eyes anymore after having had prk surgery. They know this but are ok about still charging me. Hope they found value in charging me as it always follows with a bad review There's many options to choose from when visiting a vision eye center and will be looking to go elsewhere come next year.. you would think since these folks see you just once a year that you would get better service. read more

I used to love this place. More so because of Dr. Venezuela. I work retail so I get it, not everything is going to be perfect. That's life. But the fact that some of the people in this office refuse to take responsibility for their mistakes, is beyond the pale. I showed up to my eye exam, only to find out it had to be canceled because they didn't have my insurance information ( something I gave them when creating the appointment). So then I let them know I specifically took the day off & that someone should have called me. Then the desk person who was supposed to call me, lied and said she called me but couldn't leave a message because my mailbox was full. I told her "I don't know who you called, but it wasn't me." if she had just owned her forgetfulness about having not called me, I would've been upset, but probably not as much but the fact that this girl straight up lied in my face in front of her office manager was so outrageous. Finally scheduled the appointment & went to my eye exam and purchased prescription glasses. Cut to today I called and spoke to Maria who dispensed my prescription glasses to me a few weeks back( and did the bare minimum) this is not my first time getting prescription glasses, asking if I could possibly get my old lenses back and said that nobody had offered them back to me and I didn't even think to ask. So it's partly my fault for not asking for my lenses back but this girl, Miss Maria had the audacity to say, she always offers the old lenses back and finds it hard to believe that she didn't offer them to me. I told her, " you didn't. I would have taken them. " Duh. I feel like the people working the front office is doing Dr. Valenzuela a disservice. They are absolutely crap & I would be hesitant to trust them. I'm not saying the entire front office sucks but the two ladies I dealt with, create scenarios and then deny the truth. Not only did we go through better one or two, but they also used a neat new machine so that I didn't have to get my eyes dilated, and the doctor used some techniques to check for eye strain and prescription clarity. read more

I'm always optimistic when seeking a new eye doctor because of my eye disease, Keratoconus. Ive been to plenty of bad and few good from here to TX, NM and CA. When I contacted I Care Vision Center, they promptly scheduled me an appointment, and now I'm on track to getting the contacts I need for better vision. Poor vision greatly impacts my quality of life--it's like seeing everything through a dull lens. Being a visual learner, it even affects my memory. However, my experience at I Care Vision Center was exceptional. The staff was knowledgeable, took time to explain things, and were courteous even when I arrived early. Bizarre experience. I ordered glasses there, quite expensive prices as other reviews have noted but I wanted a particular frame they carried. Pre-sale optical service was fine, but when I picked up the glasses the frame was the wrong color. It happens, I was ok with the delay to get what I had actually ordered. They re-ordered the glasses and 1 month later called me to pick them up. They handed me the glasses without a case, saying I had not returned the case, which was not true. Once I corrected them they finally did give me a case. Odd. However, the glasses made a weird squeaking sound as I cleaned them. There were several gaps around the lenses, as if they did not fit the frame. The 2 optical ladies tried to say that was normal. So bizarre! I corrected them again, and they ultimately said they would send the glasses back to the lab. Again. Poor service and quality control at high prices. I cannot recommend and am very disappointed at how they treat their customers. read more

I've been a patient of I Care for about 2 years now. The first office visit I had was pleasant enough and they really do take a lot of measures for COVID safety which I appreciate. However, they've recently changed their policy so it's an automatic opt in to have your eyes dilated. The language is hidden in a tiny paragraph which no one clearly explains. Every time an eye care professional has mentioned eye dilation to me before, they've also mentioned the side affects (which can last up to 6 hours and the first time they recommend you have someone drive you) and for that reason i've always declined. This time around, no one mentioned that they were dilating my pupils, not ONCE did any one explain the side affects to me beforehand and they brushed off my comments as a policy change. Not flagging to a patient the side affects of dilating pupils is a bad policy especially when you have no idea what that individual needs to do after (like work or drive) and has not adequately prepared. I'm very disappointed with the treatment and this hidden policy change. If you do decide to visit here, make sure you clearly read the fine print and ask as many questions before they do anything to you. read more

I have been going to I Care for 10 years and over the last year the level of care is gone down drastically and their front desk team leverages medical billing codes to ensure the largest payment to the office. Even if that is at the expense of the patient cost or level of care. I have had a bad eye infection for over a week. They diagnosed a stye, gave me antibiotics and told me to do hot compress'. I've continued treatment for a week and one of my eyes is getting worse. I asked to come in for a follow up appointment to make sure it was correctly diagnosed and they would like to bill me for another $100 copay. I'll be finding a new eye doctor that cares about the patient and an accurate diagnosis. Not the only the profit from each visit. read more

Dr Valenzuela is amazing. Been going to her forever. I have speciality contacts because my eyes are so bad. They've been amazing. No frills. I appreciate that they don't push additional machines or unnecessary processes onto you. The true secret to why this place is so wonderful is their billing department. Never billed me wrong. Worked with me and my insurance to get the best coverage. It goes to say a lot when they were able to figure out how fo bill my contacts as medically necessary. I have seen two different Optometrists here and have had a very positive experience, both times. I feel like the exams are very thorough. The doctors take the time to understand your concerns and write a prescription that best suits your needs. I like the extended hours on certain days of the week. This makes scheduling an appointment outside of work hours and picking up frames, convenient. The frames they carry are a variety of prices. I tend to like the higher end styles, but can usually find a moderately priced version that is similar to the pricier model. I generally "double" my frame allowance and find something that I really like and will wear. There is always plenty of parking and the office never feels crowded with patients and kids. It's just a convenient and comfortable place to get my exam done. read more

The place is a rip-off! Poor management. Poor communication. Low integrity on the part of the Dr. Orleans. I paid for a contact lens exam and fitting. I paid cash in full. I was told that the payment covered the exam, fitting and ALL follow-up exams. PERIOD. The day of the exam Dr. Orleans didn't have the correct trial lenses in stock, so she gave me some similar lenses to practice putting in and taking out. I had to drive back to the office weeks later to pick up the trial lenses when they arrived from the distributor. i tried out these lenses but they didn't fit at all. I went back for a follow up appointment. Dr. Orleans ordered 2 different types of lenses for me to try. It took at least a month for them to arrive. I drove back to the office and picked them up. The front desk person told me, "Try these out and let us know which you like best and Dr. Orleans will give you a prescription." The first boxes of lenses of both brands didn't fit. The second box of one brand was OK on some days and not OK on other days. I struggled to decide what I should do with them, since I wasn't having a good experience. Finally I called the office and asked them what I should do. The front desk person told me that Dr. Orleans wanted me to come back to the office so she could see what was going on. I made an appointment. Today when I went to the appointment Rochelle told me that Dr. Orleans wants $119 more before she could talk to me and that since I was seen last in June a full exam was required. I was also told that there was a 90 day trial lens period only. I WAS NOT TOLD THIS EVER BEFORE. They said they left me a voicemail, but the phone number was years out of date. Never updated by them. I left the office. Go here only if you have insurance money to waste and like being treated poorly. I am really shocked by this behavior. By the way, I have been a customer since 1998. Not any more. I've been going to I Care for many years and have always gotten good products (glasses & contacts) and service. I like that it's a local business and that Dr. Valencia is bilingual so as such the office serves Spanish speaking clientele. The reason I don't give a higher rating is due to the prices of their frames - extremely over priced. Also, the last lenses and frames I got were very bad quality - the finish on the frames was wearing off in a matter of days and the lenses had a manufacturing flaw in them. I Care replaced the frames and lenses - but I expect better for such a premium price. The frames turned out to just be bad frames. Not a huge deal - being that my insurance pays most of the cost - but dropping over $200 for frames when Costco has frames for much higher quality frames at $70? C'mon - they can do better. read more

The doctors here are great! I'm a horrible eye patient and they are very kind and patient with me. Rose works in the frame dept. I am very bad at picking my own frames and I depend on her. She always picks great frames for me and has even helped me pick sunglasses too. She provides amazing customer service with cleaning and fixing frames as needed. read more

The cost of the frames here were cost prohibitive so I purchased my frames elsewhere and brought them in. When I picked up my glasses, they didn't fit right and after 20 minutes, I was told that they lost one of the nose pieces and replaced the original ones with small ones. After finding longer nose pieces, I tested the prescription. That was wrong as well. I get a call two days later saying the sodder didn't hold on the frames and now they were broken. They weren't broken when they were first fitted with new lenses, and they weren't broken when they came back with the lenses. They would not take any responsibility and kept saying that they can't guarantee frames that were not purchased from them. They broke them. When I said I was going to write a review on Yelp and Google, the reply was "go ahead." I'm out a pair of frames, and did a refund on the lenses so I wouldn't have to deal with them any longer. P.S. A year ago, I saw the doctor because of a blood blister in my eye. When they took my BP, it was 177/92 (or close to that). They told me to keep an eye on it. Later, I wound up in the E.R. with a BP of 213/110. read more

I appreciate their flexible hours. It's easy for me to get in to the office. The doctors that I have seen are kind and knowledgeable. I had a very thorough eye exam and a contact lens exam. I was surprised that my copay bill was $60, and I even have pretty good insurance. But that could be an issue with my coverage, and not I Care Vision. My damned eye Dr. accidentally prescribed me biweekly lenses instead of monthly about a year ago. wearing the lenses too long has now caused me to develop some random eye inflammation syndrome causing extremely blurry vision. I cant wear contacts till it goes away; i cant drive or do barely anything bc i cant see. Plus when I went back to them for the inflammation they diagnosed it correctly but STILL didn't catch that they caused it bc they gave me the wrong contacts and told me my vision was blurry bc my glasses were outdated. Thank God for second opinions and that my vision should be back to normal next week!! Damned Dr should be sued for malpractice! read more

My experience at I Care Vision was wonderful! I arrived a bit early to browse the eyewear and the doctor was even able to see me a bit early, as well. Dr. Valenzuela was amazing! She explained everything to me in great detail and was able to answer any/all questions that I had. My insurance benefits were explained to me very well and I was able to choose a couple pairs of eyeglass frames at a very reasonable price. Dr Valenzuela explained what each part of the exam was testing, joked with me, explained all my options, and gave me some suggestions to improve my eye health.
