Wonderfully skilled, caring practice. Staff is wonderful, as are doctors. Frame options are great too.

Went there because they sold a specific brand of frames I wanted. Told the Dr. from the beginning that I required Zeiss lenses. After putting 50% down and them sending the frames to their lab, they call me and tell me their lab doesn't work with Zeiss lenses (which they knew all along and didn't mention that). I tell them I want a refund then. They then tell me the Dr. wants me to buy the lenses I did not want and that they'd deal with it if I wasn't happy once I got the glasses. I refused, asked for refund, and asked for a copy of my insurance-paid exam results and new prescription to be faxed to me so that I could buy the frames and lenses somewhere else. As of this writing, I have not received my prescription and they state they are cutting me a check and mailing my refund to me. Totally unacceptable. Maybe they should work with a lab that allows them to give them what their customer wants as opposed to telling the customer what they think the customer should do. Buyer be ware going to this establishment. read more

AVOID!! Time wasters! Went in to verify my insurance & mand an appointment 2 weeks later. When I show up they say my coverage isn't good for 4 months?! But if I can pay out of pocket for everything (Frames, lenses, and contacts) Ignorant and rude. AVOID these time wasters! read more

Went to Eye Designs for a normal eye exam. I didn't LOVE them but they were quick and informative, so I decided to go back the following year and give them another chance. This time, when the doctor was asking for information for my medical records, she questioned one of the medications I take in a very judgy tone. The specific medication was irrelevant to my eye exam, so it was completely inappropriate to make that comment. I left feeling super uncomfortable and embarrassed so I definitely won't be going back. Unfortunate that it didn't work out because I live so close. read more

I've always had a good experience when coming in for my eye exams! My husband and I are both patients here; we live nearby so the location and hours are great. I don't need anything other than regular exams, but my husband has been fitted for both contacts and glasses here and has been very happy. They take our insurance plan, and have always been friendly! read more

They don't take all vision plans so if you have VSP you're definitely good to go. Frames can be pricey because of this but they are of high quality. No air puff test at this practice.They do the hot air balloon and video game tests for glaucoma and peripheral vision. The doctors really listen to you and have made recommendations to other practices for things they can't do (like a mole removal near my eye). Be sure to confirm your appointment or it will get cancelled. They will do their best to fit you in if your appointment time was already given away. I've been a long-time customer. Last year I went somewhere else that took my insurance and was really unhappy with the quality of the service and the contacts I received. read more

I spent $1,000 on glasses here a couple of years ago, including ic! Berlin frames. I have progressive lenses, and despite promising to redo them until they were correct, their staff refused to do the lenses again when the initial focus wasn't right. I wasn't happy about this, and now the expensive frames have broken. My model is no longer made, so my only choice is to buy both new frames and lenses. I definitely won't be buying them from Eye Designs, as they didn't even offer me a discount on new glasses. But shouldn't $1,000 glasses last longer than a couple of years? The optometrists here might be great--I haven't used them--but I can't recommend buying glasses from these people. Even they though offer lots of cool frame brands, they don't stand behind their products. read more

I have had Dr. Harawa for a few years now, and have always had a great experience! She is professional, clear and explains why she is making certain recommendations for you. She is also great at dealing with insurance, and the team there is supportive in navigating what your options are according to your coverage. The entire staff otherwise is great to deal with! I've been going here for about 3 years. Dr. Harawa is so patient and kind to me. I have really poor vision and she makes me feel at ease about the health of my eyes every time I see her. My lens become very pricey when insurance only covers every other year. She went out of her way to make sure I got as much of a rebate as possible. If you need an optometrist, see her! read more

When I moved to the area, I needed a new Eye Doc. Looking for new doctors is no fun, so really I decided to just go with an office that had hours that accommodated my schedule. It's super helpful that they're open until 8pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The office is in a convenient location for me but their parking lot can be a headache if it's a night when everyone seems to be out doing things. They share the lot with the surrounding businesses so I've had to park on the metered street before a time or two. Overall, everyone I've dealt with at the office seems to be friendly. The only real issue I've ever had was that they ordered the wrong contacts for me and I had to return the box and wait for a re-order. Not an awesome thing to deal with, but it was all fine in the end. I always buy my glasses online from Warby Parker and they adjusted them for free in the office without an appointment, so that was nice. I would NEVER purchase the frames that are on display in their showroom though - ridiculously overpriced (but I generally think that's how every office is). TERRIBLE COMPANY & SERVICE. Recently one of their employees gave me hydrogen peroxide in my contact case. I didnt find out what it was until I talked to Eye Designs Owner M Lubbas. My husband and I were purchasing contacts and eye glasses. When I went to try on the glasses, she gave me a solution to put in my contact eye case. Unknowly to me it was hydrogen peroxide. I wore my glasses home so I didnt know what she had done. I happen to rub my eye with the finger I put in the solution and noticed a slight burn. The employee took a look at the bottle in front of my husband and I and returned with a new bottle. This bottle was familiar. Employee is now claiming that she gave me the bottle but told me not to use it....HOW DID I GET THE BOTTLE! Dr Lubas today told me that I should find another doctor since I don't like her other doctor (Herrara) and since I caused the problem with her employee. Talk about liability here. It was her employee that gave me the bottle of hydrogen peroxide. Dr Herrara gave me an eye exam but she forgot to follow up on the exam! Dr Masczak was great to work with and he left with no notice. I would totallly not recommend this company at all. Their prices are high. Employees don't know what their doing and the owner doesn't want business. read more

This place, and especially Dr. Luebbers deserves zero stars, for sure. I went in for a yearly exam, which was fine, although they pressured me to use my partial insurance coverage for frames instead of contact lenses (I couldn't seem to find a pair of frames under $300, some up to $575, none were brands I had heard of). A few months later, I put my contacts in for the day and soon started to experience a lot of pain. My eye was watering profusely so I removed the contact lenses immediately and waited it out. As a long time contact wearer, I knew that sometimes my eyes would be irritated due to allergies. I was at work and a couple of hours had passed, the pain and watering not subsiding and at this point I had begun to lose some vision in my eye. I panicked and called, explaining my situation. I was told curtly that I should remove my contacts. I responded that I had, that I'd rinsed my eye with water and that the pain was severe and that I couldn't see out of my eye. They told me that I could not be seen by any doctor that day and that it would go away. A few more hours passed, my vision still decreasing in my eye and I called back again. They reluctantly scheduled me an appointment for the next day, making sure to make me feel like I was inconveniencing them. When I arrived I was seen by dr. Luebbers, who had done my previous exam. She silently looked at my eye, and then backed away and looked at me and said "well, it looks like you have herpes." I was shocked and confused, and she then proceeded to ask me if I was sexually active. I was so confused and asked what that had to do with my eyes and if I should be seeing a different kind of doctor. She refused to answer any of my questions, completely ignoring me and just said "I'm referring you to a specialist. They'll answer your questions." And then left the room. Once I got to the specialist, I was crying and so freaked out and confused. She asked me why I was there and what my primary care provider had told me. When I told her the story she was horrified and so apologetic, saying how inappropriately dr. Luebbers behaved and that I did have an infection on my eye but that it was pretty routine and could be cleared up with some medication and a break from contact lenses. Easily the worst interaction with someone who is supposed to be a medical professional. Even if it was a herpes simplex infection, as explained to me by the specialist I went to, the infection would have been the same as a cold sore on the lip and NOT the same as the sexually transmitted herpes simplex, so the question about my sexual activity was completely inappropriate. Definitely the worst experience I've ever had. read more

Give yourself plenty of time to find parking before your appointment, if it's near the lunch or dinner hour. Grandview is tough when it comes to coveted parking spots! Office staff is helpful and friendly, and they have TONS of great frames. Last year I ordered some turquoise frames with carmel brown "arms" and I get continue to get compliments on them from friends and even from complete strangers. My family has been coming here for many years. I wouldn't even think of going anywhere else. The staff is helpful and friendly, and Dr. Luebbers is so knowledgeable! My daughter has lots of difficult eye issues and Dr. Luebbers always knows exactly what to do. Dr. Luebbers takes her time and answers all of your questions. She never rushes you out the door. They have a great selection of frames and they really take the time to help you find the perfect pair. I appreciate that the staff always provides appointment reminders. Top notch customer service :) Went to Eye Deigns for the first time today and all I can say is WOW this place knows how to treat people. Suzanna was absoluely wonderful in helping pick out frames for my son. She took her time with us and found the perfect fit for him.
