The red headed assistant that works there is amazing. So fun and chatty and helpful in selecting frames. She legit could sell a blind man sunglasses. They are all so kind to everyone that walked in. The office was in the middle of an upgrade so I'm sure it will soon more appropriately match their energy and vibe. Only con was the time it took to get my frames we were moving from the West Side and they took 3 weeks to arrive so had to come from Woodstock to pick them up. But overall great experience.

Originally he warned us that this was way over due and risky and may involve a Retnia surgery afterwards if complications arose. Well the Dr nailed this one perfectly. If you ever watched the Will Ferrel movie Talladega Nights, remember the Now you see me Now you dont I'm the Magic man scene . Dr Berry is the Magic Man. If you need more advanced care - surgery, etc - maybe GVI is better. I don't know, but I would still go to one of the practices I've been to in Marietta or Woodstock for that given what I've seen from GVI. Details : I needed glasses - it had been a while and mine were getting old. I went to GVI because of the fancy billboards featuring pretty people and the brand they have cultivated as an advanced, cutting edge practice. I had to schedule in one of their satellite offices because of availability. I told the doc I had periodic variance in my vision on the right eye, typically when under high-stress. I also told her I was having one of those episodes that day. Doc says it's probably an optical migraine and continued with the exam. I took the rx to Pearle to buy the glasses - I honestly can't remember why but I'm glad I did. See below. When I got the glasses, they seemed ok at first. But over the next few days, I noticed the right eye variance popping up a lot. I didn't think much about it until I noticed that I didn't have that problem without glasses or while wearing my old glasses. I went back to Pearle and they confirmed that the glasses were built to the rx, so I went back to GVI. They scheduled an appointment right away but when I showed up for the recheck, I was told they just wanted to confirm that the glasses were built correctly. They were, so I had to schedule yet another appt for the actual recheck. I was told they only do those one day a week in Carrollton, so I had to schedule out a bit. I went to the second exam and told the second doc the whole story - right eye, glasses don't work, etc. She adjusted the rx. I went back to Pearle with the updated rx. Luckily, they honored their warranty even though it wasn't their fault and built me another pair. I picked those up and had the same issue - issue with my right eye when wearing the new glasses. I went back to Pearle and scheduled an exam through them for a second opinion. I had to pay out of pocket for that one because GVI had wasted my eye benefit for the year. Pearle doc spent a lot more time and ran some extra tests GVI didn't run either time. That doc found that dry eyes may be the source of my issues. Simple solution - drops. The 3rd rx was different in both eyes than either of the GVI scripts in and closer to my old glasses than it was to what GVI gave me. Pearle built a 3rd pair of glasses with their rx and they are dead on. I really hate that I wasted so much time and money with GVI. I also hate that Pearle lost time and money because of GVI but definitely appreciate them sticking by their warranty.

They were friendly, personable, and professional. After waiting for more than an hour to see Doctor Kuang, he on the other hand was the COMPLETE OPPOSITE. He made zero eye contact upon entering the room, was short and showed no interest or concern. He even asked "what brings you here today"? My Sclera (white part of the eye) is completely red and swollen. He prescribed a medication which directly conflicts with my current medication which sharply increases my risk of severe stomach ulcers, gastrointestinal bleeding, kidney damage, and cardiovascular events. I called the office more than six times over 4 weeks to ask Dr. Kuang to call me to discuss my condition and his recommendation for treatment and he NEVER returned my calls. He also never returned the call of another ophthalmologist even after I gave the office staff permission to discuss my condition. It's generally a professional courtesy to return calls of patients and colleagues. I contacted the Corporate Office to discuss my concern and did not receive a follow-up call. If there was an option for less than one star this location would get it from me. Based upon my experiences, I would adamantly not recommend this facility.

Turned out that my situation would require a procedure and the Woolfson Eye Institute could assist with resolving this matter. Dr. Salmonson in the College Park & Stockbridge offices is an extremely knowledgeable individual and he shares his insight in a very friendly manner with the patient. The office staff is great at making people feel welcome here and they act very professional around the patients. They're also great with helping to tackle those insurance policy headaches!! Each of their offices come equipped with a Keurig machine in the waiting area for that quick morning caffeine jolt, and their offices are quite clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend visiting the Woolfson Eye Institute for all of your eye care needs.

Go for your free consult and a week and a half later, you are scheduled for eye surgery. They re-check your eyes multiple times to make sure that they have the correct prescription and everyone in the office is so kind! Dr. Woolfson himself is a nice man who put all of us at ease. The procedure was rather simple and routine! It took no more than 20 minutes with only a small amount of pressure and nothing to scary and I was 20/20. It was so easy, in fact, I couldn't believe that I waited this long to have it done! By bedtime, I could see perfect and the next day, I had legal driving vision- 20/20. No pain or discomfort. However, when I needed surgery for my cataracts he wanted me to see another specialist because of my special circumstances. I took his recommendation and had the surgery elsewhere and saw him for follow-up about a year later. No one said anything about no longer seeing me as a patient in the future. Now I've tried to schedule an appointment for a bi-annual routine exam and he will not see me because I did not do my surgeries with him! I could have at least been informed about his change of practices as a long standing client. I'm very frustrated he will not see me now and I'm being left to find another doctor for simple exams after all these years. I do not recommended the practice now.
