I was WAY due so looked them up and say they changed to self pay but I figured it was worth it. This is no middle of the mall eye doctor and you feel that so I was willing to invest. The red headed assistant that works there is amazing. So fun and chatty and helpful in selecting frames. She legit could sell a blind man sunglasses. They are all so kind to everyone that walked in. The office was in the middle of an upgrade so I'm sure it will soon more appropriately match their energy and vibe. Only con was the time it took to get my frames we were moving from the West Side and they took 3 weeks to arrive so had to come from Woodstock to pick them up. But overall great experience.

Well my safety glasses are in, but the regular glasses are not. They were suppose to come in on December 18th. I called on the 19th. Was told they haven't come in yet. I was told later that day that they have been shipped and would be in on Monday the 23rd. I called to see if they had come in because I took a vacation day to pick them up. I was told after being put on hold that they are delayed at the lab. So I was lied to about the glasses being shipped. Not impressed with the service at all. I have canceled my appointment for next year and will take my business somewhere else.

As an update to my 2023 appointment for new glasses: I recently had an eye exam at another facility…read moreand was given a new prescription that was supposed to be a minor tweak on my current glasses. I compared the new prescription to my latest prescription and it seemed more like a major change instead of a minor adjustment. Not being an expert, I went ahead and ordered the updated lenses from Rome Eye Care. When they came in and I put them on, the vision in my left eye was good but I could see better out of the right lens without the glasses. I figured I just had to wear them for a while to get used to them. After two weeks of constant wear, my vision was not any better out of the right eye. I returned to Rome Eye care and they read the lenses on their machine and confirmed they matched the prescription I had been given, which I figured they did. They agreed with me that the new prescription was a major change from the lenses I have been wearing since 2023. They said I should go back to the original clinic and have them recheck my eyes. The original office I went to could not give me a repeat exam until June. I let Rome Eye Care know that I wouldn't be back anytime soon so they weren't expecting a quick return. The very next day they called and said that Dr. Reeves said for me to come in and he would re-examine my eyes. A new exam was performed and it was found that the prescription I was given by the other optometrist was over corrected for the left eye and was even a bit stronger than I needed for the right eye. During his evaluation he was able to correct my prescription to give me 20/20 vision. I know this is kind of long, but the people at Rome Eye Care center are really great. Based on how quickly they accommodated the exam and the expert treatment I received, I will probably use them as my primary for eye care.

This is just an assembly line of various technicians doing a lot of procedures and NOTHING is…read moreexplained to you. They put in eye drops to dilate your pupils not telling you that you will be unable to drive home without good sunglasses. (I would have brought a friend--instead I went to a coffee shop and sat until I could drive home.) I'd ask a question and they would say "Hold still!" What are you doing--"Measurements." What are you measuring and why? "For surgery." What surgery? I saw four different techs and I guess the doctor--but NO ONE introduces themselves; NO ONE wears name tags with their job title EXCEPT for the Registered Nurse on second floor. She was PROFESSIONAL and very nice. I was scheduled for a surgery that was never explained. Told to buy prescription eye drops--$48 WITH good insurance. I wasn't even given my prescription for new glasses. I have to go back and get that. I came home, read the paperwork, called a friend who was my eye doctor in a previous city and was told.."None of that makes sense!" So I called and cancelled the next day. I was treated poorly. But if you like having the doctor (whoever he was) just order you around and not explain anything this is your place. I'll just go to Emory in Atlanta--world renowned clinics. I was very depressed with these people. Maybe in small towns no one wears ID tags as they all know each other?
