Accountability feels like an attack when you're unwilling to acknowledge how your behavior harms others.
Irresponsible. No accountability. They do not support the women they claim to support (warriors and survivors). Scam artists who make casting calls for, "warriors," but if you leave any sort of feedback, such as, "Maybe you need to be more trauma informed because you REALLY hurt me," you'll be ignored, attacked, and they'll threaten to get an attorney involved to hurt you, further. Very retaliatory. They also retaliated by charging me for a photo where I'm not even in focus. The pixels are so bad it looks like there are lines in my lips and teeth. Zoom in on my face!! My eyes look like PlayStation1 graphics. It's not even in focus.
I never heard from Jennifer, the owner and photographer, ever again.
Kim is the one I've had the misfortune of communicating with.
Kim has been accusatory and cruel in her responses. They have refused to apologize for ignoring my triggers, and triggering my PTSD. Not the first little apology. In fact, I've been informed that somehow this is all my fault (even though Kim never sent me the documents ahead of time that would've helped to avoid this. I love it when professionals drop the ball, and blame the client!)
They have refused to acknowledge the tremendous harm they brought upon my family and myself by triggering my PTSD. They refuse to acknowledge that Boudoir photography is a responsibility that CAN HURT PEOPLE if not done with care, and compassion. That includes AFTER the fact.
Kim dropped the ball and did not send me my information packet prior to the shoot. I was wholly uninformed about the poses that were available to get into, and unable to CONSENT to the specific, extremely triggering pose that I never, EVER would've been ok with. Jennifer is a good coach, and got me into the position, but I didn't know what position that was because of where she was standing. Kim told me there's no way I didn't know what pose I was getting in, which is SO wrong and SO rude. I am a martial artist, so I know how to follow instructions with my body. Fellow people with PTSD would understand, a bit of this involved a little dissociation in order to get my body to cooperate with posing for this shoot. I trusted them to not photograph my butt, with no face, purely objectifying it. Why? Prior to the photo shoot, my mother was with me, just to be sure this is a legitimate operation (I am a kidnapping survivor, so I am very cautious.) My mother was there when I told Jennifer while most everything is cool, even being naked, just my butt -specifically- is NOT an OK focal point, because after ten years of therapy focused on my body and PTSD, my butt wasn't a priority, I had surgery related triggers around it, it's ugly (IMO), so please, don't make it a focal point. They're ignoring that my mother was a witness and claiming that Jennifer, alone, is in the right, as well as Kim, whom was not in attendance.
Moments later, after I changed into lingerie, that was the VERY FIRST POSE she got me into.
I could understand if it was an honest mistake and she just forgot, and apologized, but that's not what's happening, and allegedly, now, I'm just harassing them (in Kim's opinion.) Their documents, that they didn't let me review for more than a split second before the photo shoot, were signed under pressure and with the clock ticking my session away.
To say I won a contest is a joke. I won an afternoon of negligent, reckless abuse from someone who permitted themselves to forget my number 1 trigger, followed by hostile emails and threats from their studio manager.
I have never heard from Jennifer, again. We have mutual friends in the photography and real world. So, I reached out to other boudoir photographers. Turns out, there are more ECB horror stories!
Save your money + sanity. Run. I'm contesting the charge, but who knows how far that will go. If Kim really does sue me, I'm sure it'll be public record. If you have the nerve to leave unpleasant feedback, brace yourself! If they trigger your PTSD and ruin your day/week/month, and affect your mental or physical health, or family and friends or home life, you will NOT get any sort of apology, nor acknowledgment.
They sent my documents out of order (or not at all), blamed ME for it (how?!), then cited said documents as how I should've known ahead of time what I was doing...
Be careful. Go somewhere else, like Lone Star PinUp!
Don't give ECB your trust. They don't deserve it. Especially if you have PTSD. No one deserves the reckless harm they have shown to be capable of causing, nor the threats just for speaking up about suspected retaliation. They ARE NOT TRAUMA INFORMED, and they were INSULTED at the suggestion of BECOMING TRAUMA INFORMED. read more
