Excellent product & service. I had a strong wooden umbrella and needed the fittings to be improved. It was metal with threading inside so it could screw in and fit nicely. Wow - the came up with a solution and saved my 25 year old umbrella. These guys are creative and great workers for a solution for you. Ya would think if all they have there are trucks & cars, they may not be able to help you out. But if it is a metal and you have a problem - run it by them...great minds at work there. Interesting view of customer service. I have not had any work done with them but I think how they treat potential customers is just as important as how they treat you when you do spend money with them. Basically I called up looking for some information about rebuilding my engine. The guy that answered the phone sounded very disinterested in wanting my business. I told him that that I didn't expect an exact quote but that I was trying to get some range of prices outlined so I could help make a decision on what avenue I wanted to take with rebuild or replace. He first told me that he would need to pull the engine, get it apart and see what was wrong with it before he could quote me a price. I told him that the engine I have is not blown and actually runs really well, but just has a lot of miles on it and that I wanted to do something before it came to requiring a rebuild. The guy then said "So you want me to pull a number out of the air and then pull the engine out and go through it?.....$2000, but it may or may not be that". Since he never really asked any questions about what I wanted to accomplish, why I wanted to do it, if I wanted any upgrades, was it for street or track, etc. , I felt that I better not place a few thousand dollars on the line with this company. Had he simply said something like, "To do a standard rebuild assuming no major issues and with a standard rebuild kit, you are looking in the ballpark of $xxxx. If you want to upgrade anything or if we run into some major problems, those will be the biggest factor in the cost of your rebuild." He just seemed irritated that I called in the first place and all he wanted to do was anything but talk to a potential customer. The sad thing is that I got a couple referrals from some people stating that this place is really good at what they do. That may be true but because this individual did not seem like he cared about the customer, I cannot comfortably recommend them. read more

This guy does great work, period. You may not get fancy receptionist treatment when you call because its a small operation. The guy that answers the phone may have to stop what he is doing on a Mill or Lathe and talk to you so be prepared for that. If you can get past that, rest assured you will get a quality machine shop job! read more

The bad review made me laugh! I have an auto repair company in Austin and we started using Extreme a few years ago. Another machine shop did a really poor job and we were referred to Extreme. The way Perry interacts on the phone will make you think he doesn't want your business but his phone etiquette isn't indicative of his customer service. He has always been hesitant to give an estimate on price. If you press him he will give you a range but he's always told us that it depends on what he finds. That being said, his prices are always reasonable. He also wont tell you how long it will take. He will give you a range of time, but he usually finishes sooner than his estimate. Going to Georgetown for us is a pain but it has been worth it to get quality service. I highly recommend Extreme! read more
