I called around to every moving…read morecompany in the area to have an extremely heavy and large marble table moved from a second floor condo to my first floor ranch across town. Everyone quoted me incredibly ridiculous rates to move this one item. Granted I knew the job needed 4 strong guys to move it but upwards of $1k I was quoted. Nope. Considering I was paying less than 1/4 of that price to buy the actual table from someone. From the get go, they answered their phones(several companies on yelp did not) and quoted very very reasonable rates and were friendly to work with. There was quite a bit of back and forth with the scheduling to do the move but I blame that on the holidays being the same week. Once we finally set the day for the move, the 4 guys including the owner showed up in the moving truck ready to go. They moved the top and base of the table in no time flat but were extra careful not to do any damage to the table or the surrounding walls or area they were moving it from and to. They were observant of any defects or damage already on the table and actually pointed out a corner of the base of the table was chipped off and had been glued on but came off when they went to pick up the table. No big deal but great they pointed it out before they moved it. I give them great credit for hauling that heavy table and the base down 20 inside steps going down from second floor and then another 15 outdoor steps going down. Not an easy task but they executed it well. They made sure to wrap the table top and base up and secure it properly in the truck for transport. When we arrived at my house, they were just as careful bringing in the base and making sure it was where I wanted it and then bringing in the table top. They were friendly and cool and actually ended up knowing my friend who had met me at my house to help just in case. They knew each other from high school. Small world. Anyways, the price was exactly what was quoted no games about time or mileage or anything like the other companies. And I ended up tipping them on top of it because I was so pleased with them. Highly recommend booking the labor guys if you need to have items especially heavy items moved. A++

I also forwarded this email to the FMCSA where I've already filed a formal complaint. I want Spark to work with us to get the insurance claim filed/settled. To date they have been unresponsive to my broker and MovingClaims. 5/6/19 To whom it may concern (Spark Moving), I am writing to personally address your company about my recent claim with MovingClaims.net and I'm asking your company to be timely and responsive through this process so we can come up with a resolution sooner rather than later. Missing items: 55in Westinghouse TV Kitchen box: Mr. Coffee coffee maker, 3 Yeti 20oz travel mugs, 1 Arctic 20oz travel mug. I had to send back items on 2 occasions during the delivery because the driver tried giving me items that weren't mine. I'm assuming that's where my TV and missing kitchen box went. Damaged items: Broken sectional couch frame and torn fabric (underside), torn fabric headboard, Sanyo WiFi ready blue ray player broken, some bowls broken, glasses cracked/broken. And kitchen table top cracked and scratched (clearly dropped). *I have pictures of all of these damages. Unfulfilled paid work/Other: Your delivery driver (one worker) dropped my items and did not reassemble any of the furniture. A new local acquaintance I met here helped your driver unload the truck. There were also several delivery delays causing me to miss or rearrange work. Hopefully we can resolve this through movingclaims.net and further legal action will not be required. Thank you in advance for your cooperation. Ashley M. McDonough, MBA 5/10/19 I am having an impossible time getting Spark to reply to emails so we can move forward with my claim. I've asked multiple times for them to provide me with the required documentation and they are flat out being non-responsive. The broker who has been semi-useful up to this point is no longer being useful either. DO NOT USE GOLD STANDARD RELOCATION. Now that the move is done they have quit on their responsibilities to help me with things like claims. Furthermore they did zero vetting on this joke of a company (Spark Moving). But I will definitely edit my review if I feel differently. Hence the 4 stars for right now :) But from a purely customer service stand point and what I saw over the course of my almost 4-hour move (due to how much stuff I personally owned). I am forever grateful for Omar, Dwane, and Tony! Omar, Dwane, and Tony- The three musketeers who made a move that I was dreading to do completely alone a breeze. I was informed at all times of what was going on, what time frame everything could happen in and they let me know they could start early this morning. I had slept at 3 am from packing and trashing and was exhausted, to say the least, all moves are difficult. Omar- informed me of everything and worked on making sure all my items were wrapped and securely delivered. Dwane- worked tirelessly without any hesitation to the amount of work that was there, Tony- Brought the jokes and equally stayed focused on the task ahead At no point did I feel I had made a mistake- primarily the opposite- I had never used movers and I thought to myself- 'How have I never used movers'!!! These guys were respectful, mindful, pleasant, had amazing work ethic and worked very efficiently. Thank you so much for everything and I will definitely use you all in the future and recommend the three of you personally. Sincerely, Ruchi :)

Let me start by saying if I could give zero stars here, I would…read more I contacted this company about a move, indicating that I was moving from a 2nd floor 1 bedroom with approximately 1700 lbs worth of stuff to a 1st floor apartment about half a mile away. They sent me an estimate for $402 that included 3 movers at $115/hr as well as a $57.50 truck rental. Because I didn't have that much stuff we estimated that, all told, it would take about 3 hours. Everything seemed fine, so I e-signed the estimate and arranged for a move window between 11am and 1pm. The first red flag was when they told me they didn't take credit cards--only cash or check. In 2019 that's a little suspect, and who even has a check book anymore, but they came recommended to me, so I pulled out $500 cash just incase the move went over a little. On the day of the move 4 guys arrived, and the leader informed me it was now a fee of $145/hr, plus a higher fee for the truck. Then he looked at my apartment and told me that all of my stuff would take 4-6 hrs to move. All told, on the spot he told me the move would be at least $800 and that if I don't have the cash to cover it, they would only move an estimated $500 worth of my stuff. It was the last day of the month and I had to be out, so I started panicking. I told him I didn't have $800 to spend on this move and that all of this wasn't in the agreement I e-signed. He told me I could always Chase pay him the difference. And that's when I knew this guy was trying to run a scam. I called his boss who kept telling me that 4 guys were better than 3 and it would take less time. He absolutely would not listen to me when kept saying this was not what we scoped for nor was it what I had signed on for. He assured me that the movers would move my things and we could work out the difference later if it went over. During the move out the lead guy lectured me on how much stuff I have and told me my TV table was cheap and I should buy a nicer one. And even though my landlord required all moving to be done out the back of the building, he didn't like how far the walk was, so he informed me he'd be using the front door. Two things: First of all, I don't have a lot of stuff. I'm not a minimalist, but I'm def not a hoarder either. It was a normal (and clean) 1 bedroom apartment. Second I like my TV table, but yeah, it was cheap because I like saving money. But that is beside the point. In the end, we didn't go over on cost, because like I said, I really didn't have that much stuff. The whole process took just over two hours. On the other hand, the movers didn't move all of my things. They refused to take my computer and some boxes that had my cleaning supplies in them. The guy said he might break the computer and didn't want to be responsible for it, and that the cleaning supplies were liquid and he didn't want to deal with them. I ended up having to make two additional Uber trips to get the remaining items to my new place. One last thing about this whole miserable experience--one of the movers took a massive shit in my new bathroom and the apartment smelled like it for about an hour after the fact, despite the opening of windows. I will not be using these people again.

The team confirmed all the details ahead of time, including my request to move over 10 pieces of artwork. They estimated a 5-hour move with three men, and on the day of the move, they arrived promptly at 8 AM, worked efficiently, and completed the move-out by 1 PM. The move-in process at my new home started at 1 PM and wrapped up around 3 PM. Throughout the day, the team was respectful, careful with my belongings, and truly seemed to go the extra mile. I was so appreciative of their hard work that when the team lead, Sergio, requested a cash tip, I went to the ATM and withdrew $500 -- $200 of which I gave directly to the crew as they finished up. Unfortunately, this is where my experience took a sharp turn. I placed the remaining $300 in my purse, consisting of one $100 bill and $200 in $20 bills. After noticing the sky open up around 2:30 PM with heavy rain, I felt even more sympathetic to their efforts and decided to give them an additional $100. When I went to retrieve the money, I was shocked to find my purse had been disturbed and only $100 (in 20's) remained. To make matters worse, when I returned to my old apartment to finish cleaning, I found a pile of belongings left behind. Despite paying for a full-service move, it seems the crew simply decided some of my things weren't worth taking. The lack of communication and care was beyond frustrating. And if all of that wasn't enough, after providing my email address multiple times, I still have not received an itemized receipt, invoice, or a clear breakdown of charges. The final bill came to $2,145 -- almost twice the original estimate -- leaving me furious. After deducting the $100 deposit, I owed $2,045. I understand that moving is tough and unexpected factors can arise, but the dramatic increase in cost combined with the apparent theft, lack of accountability, and poor service left a lasting impression. I cannot in good conscience recommend All My Sons dba "New City Moving." While the physical labor of the move was well done, the lack of integrity and professionalism by at least one member of the crew completely ruined the experience. If you decide to use this company, I strongly advise keeping your valuables secured, double-checking that all your belongings are loaded, documenting all interactions, and following up on the communication regarding your charges.
