Specialties
We specialize in shipping and packing. We are experts in packing fragile and expensive items that need that extra care. We also have packing supplies for the do-it-yourselfer.
Faxing, copies (both B/W and color) and passport photos are always available. I am an experienced Public Notary.
We have the "leave it: we"ll fax it" program for those busy fax numbers that seem to take forever to connect (unemployment benefit documents.)
We have Private Mail Box Service which gives a business address for anyone that works out of their home, a perfect way to retain the privacy of your residential address. Our Mail Box Service is ideal for Landlords needing an address for receiving rent checks. Our address always come with the ability to give a signature to the carrier. Do you love online wine clubs but you work days and carriers need a signature, we can help. We encourage our Mail Box clients to give us a call and check to find out if they have mail, or better yet give us your email address and we will automatically notify you of any received packages.
We specialize in international mailing and shipping. There are many in's and out's of international shipping. If you need to ship overseas call us. Before you buy that present to go to that relative or friend overseas, call us to see about restrictions.
We scan documents as PDF, compact PDF, Tiff or JPeg and emailed or saved to your thumb drive.
History
Established in 1989.
We started as a Mail Boxes Etc. and remained that until UPS bought the franchise in 2001. In 2003, UPS changed the branding and business model. At our renewal of our Franchise in 2010 we decided not to renew or convert to the new branding, but to rather strike out on our own as a completely independent business, "Ship Station Plus." It is truly liberating! We have made changes and after 31 years it is still interesting and fun. We do problem solving, that is our job.
Meet the Business Owner: Cathy G.
I have lived all over the US, working and following my husband as he got his education and started his career. I have always been a working mom and even though things are hectic at times, I have enjoyed both hats, business woman and mother.
In 1982, my husband took a position at the Chicago Medical School and our family moved to Illinois. We live in the far northern suburbs and few jobs were available. I originally went into business with a woman that I managed a gas station for. There was unused space and a need for the services we provided. My partner and I started Mail Boxes. The first 10 years I managed the Gas Station, and also ran Mail Boxes.
In 2000, I bought my partner out of the business and the rest is history.
My children are now grown and gone. I am a avid genealogist, and also garden and cook. I have an interest in photography and when I retire (laugh) I want to take some classes and hone my skills.
I love what I do.
