Where to begin, Andrew is a chill dude, but outside of him this place is a total poop hole. They leave the bathroom locked 24/7 and you have to chase down an employee to use the toilet. They won't let you use an electronic outlet for any reason, including charging a device. Kate and (Shauna or something) both harassed me today while I was going through my possessions at my storage unit claiming I was loitering because I was there longer than two hours. Dish I'm using the service I'm paying for!!! Piss poor staff, customer service etc. wish I would have went anywhere else for my storage needs. To make it worse they began making up fake rules to justify their poor behavior towards me. Avoid this place at all costs!!!! read more

Extra Space Storage is a very nicely laid out facility. And their website is very user friendly (easy to contact). I've rented from these guys twice in the past couple of years and have worked with Nathan both times. He is very courteous and thoughtful with seeing how he can accommodate you and getting you what you need. I needed a larger unit and he had me set up within a half an hour and I was able to start moving things in that afternoon. Excellent Service! read more

Hmm. I still like the facility. Still as convenient as ever. Still clean. Still well-maintained. But here's the rub: I've been with them for a few months, and I just got a notice that the fee is going up by $10. That may not seem like much, but it's an increase of over 10%. I'm not sure what we'll do.. I need to switch to a smaller unit, and so we'll see if I stick with these guys or shop around for a better deal. Stay tuned. read more

This business should be investigated by the Attorney General for deceptive business practices. Just like many of the other reviews here they suddenly on month 4 increased my rent price without any notice. When I called to complain the man on the phone sounded like it was business as usual and told me rent increases were normal and happened 2 to 3 times a year. This single increase was over 30%. He said it would likely go up again in a few months. Then he claimed they post-mailed me a notice (which conveniently I didn't receive just like other reviewers and was not sent certified mail). They email and text every other type of account notification but not a mention of a price increase, clearly attempting to sneak it in without notice. When I told him that it was unacceptable he offered to "ask if they could credit me for the increase towards my next month" I explained this was against the law and in violation of their contract and I expected a refund of the amount increased back to my card. Then he said this call will now count as your 30-day notice, even though their own contract states notice must be written. Do not rent from this place. It is clear their business model is extortion. They advertise competitive rates barely beating the competition then systematically increase rates (without proper notice) every few months knowing that customers will be forced to pay the increases or incur the cost of moving all over again. It is clear by their practice of failing to send an email or text notification of the increase and only sending an unreliable, post mail, non-certified letter that they are attempting to avoid people's objections to increases. It's also clear from the employee's admission that they are increasing rent much more frequently than the industry standard. A reasonable increase would be 1 time a year maximum. It's safe to assume that the cost of maintaining a storage property does not change enough to justify multiple increases a year. If a residential property rental can maintain a cost for a year at a time this should be no different. This is a predatory practice and should be illegal. I've had storage units in 5 states for multiple years at a time and never once have I had an increase in price before 1 year's time, much less multiple times a year. If you can't afford to honor the price you are renting at for a year then don't advertise it at that price. This is not a difficult concept. It's also ridiculous that the BBB rates them A+ but somehow the consumer rating on the BBB site is 1.3 out of 5. Clearly, this business is paying to receive preferential treatment and an endorsement from the BBB. Judging by the number of complaints that are the same as mine this is a pattern of behavior and the only reason these practices have not been turned over to the AG's office is because they are a paying member of the BBB. I will be reporting this directly to the AG's office and suggest others do the same since the BBB has proven to be a vanity organization and not one concerned with actually protecting consumers from predatory business practices. read more

Total bait and switch. They started me at a rate of 70 dollars for our unit which is comparable to the storage next to them - but they were full, and then they jack the rate to 138 which is double. They did not offer any kind of solution. I would highly avoid this scam. read more

DO NOT USE. They locked me in at a rate of $78 and then out of nowhere I got charged $144. They said that I was not locked in at any rate and the pricing team decided it was time to raise the prices, by 90%. LOL. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy read more

I showed up about half an hour before the office was to close, and greeted with the friendliest employee (so sad I can't remember his name). But he got me into an exact space I needed. So quick and efficient. They were also running a first month free promotion that made things even better. Great employee, great space, and very clean :) read more

I had a great experience here! The staff are friendly and informative. Pricing was clear and it was easy to reserve a unit before my move to Utah. I ended up finding a house quicker than expected and they were easy to work with and cancel earlier. Very clean, well kept and the gate is very secure. It requires a code to go both in and out. And to reiterate-the staff is incredible! read more

The facility itself is clean and well kept, as to be expected. BUT............be sure to inquire as to exactly when and how much the monthly rate will RISE. The original price does not last long, and it goes up OFTEN! Find out exactly what you will be paying if you intent to use the unit for more than for a short term. read more

A dishonest company. In the year that I rented a unit from this location, my rental rate was increased three times. My rate doubled what I was initially paying. When going to my unit, I notice that the door would not close properly and in fact, was not capable of properly locking at all. Regardless of if my lock was in place, the door could be fully opened. When confronting this issue, I was moved to another unit and promised the unit would be fixed and that I would be given a refund for being in a faulty unit. Weeks later, someone has since moved into the faulty unit without any repairs to the broken door. I was finally told they were not going to give me any type of refund that was promised and when I asked how they could make things right, they stated "they weren't concerned about making anything right". So unless you aren't concerned about security or honesty, go for it. read more

Facilities are clean, well maintained, and staff is helpful and courteous. Kudos for that. Now the reason for the 2 stars. I've used ESS for several years now. They have raised the rate at least twice a year, one year it was 3 times, EVERY YEAR. WITHOUT NOTICE!! I become aware my rate went up when I notice that they have charged my bank account a little bit more. No letter, no email, nada, zip. I've even gone into the office to make sure that all my contact information is up to date. Inspite of that they just take more and don't tell me. I haven't moved because I've been too lazy to go find another facility. After the 8th price increase, I'm feeling motivated. read more

I called several different storage places to find a storage unit. Extra had the size I needed so right before close I went and put down a deposit of $22. dollars. Extra advertises that they have great security. Locked gate, camera's. What they DON'T tell you is that on top of the cost it is mandatory that you buy their insurance at a cost of $15 if your stuff is no more value than $3,000 and $45 extra for a value of up to $10,000. Needless to say after sleeping on it I found it a bit deceptive when I had specifically asked if there were any fees and was told just the cleaning deposit. I never agreed to let them add on insurances and said I would check with my home owners and get back to them. Now let me remind you, the night before it was mandatory and they would charge me if I didn't give them proof with in 5 days but when I canceled the rental the following morning they said I could sign a decline waiver to not cancel. That to me is so deceptive. Another way to take your money. It was dishonest. I don't deal with games and told them because of the non disclosure and threat to charge me if I didn't show proof within 5 days then the next day when I cancel and raise a fuss then all of a sudden they waive it. I did not even go into the unit however the deposit that I paid the night before WILL NOT BE REFUNDED. Charged even though I said I would need to check into my own insurance. Make sure you find out about all the hidden fees. I don't think it is right to hold a cleaning deposit or admin fee when you never even entered the gate and canceled it was within a 12 hour period.
