An employee offered me to put my unit in someone else's name to save money and get new promotions every six months because she told me the company is all about ripping people off. Those were her exact words and she said she has been doing it with customers for years to help them because the company and higher management does not care about the employees or the people who rent units from them. This was close by so I signed up at $96.00 a month. As a senior on a fixed income money was tight but this seemed doable. That was August of 2025. In October, 2 months later! the fee went up to $155.00! I called and was nice but said this was way out of my price range and incomprehensible. They did not offer any solutions. I looked up state regulations whether this was legal and discovered they are within legal bounds to raise the amount whenever and however high they want. So it took me 2 months to find another place which charged me $60 and assured me they would not raise the amount over $10 for the coming year. Extra Space Storage is to be avoided at all costs(no pun intended). I have no idea how they feel justified in ripping people off. But they understand that after you move all your stuff in, then to have to move it again after they raise your rates is a pain so people just stay there. Great if you are just looking to reserve an unit (probably), but the live chat with an agent doesn't work. It's also downright creepy just sitting there in an empty white room. Borderline liminal backrooms. I know it used to be an office, but maybe just tear the building down. My rent has QUADRUPLED what I reserved it for. It has doubled on average per year. I started my rent at 99/special. It is now 403 dollars per month. Close to the average rent for a bedroom in this town. For the state that the unit is in, this is utterly unacceptable. I'm not paying for a property manager, there's no maintenance on the units. I've let every person I know about the price and to steer away as far as possible. I'm glad to finally move in a space my own again, if anything so I don't have to deal with this company anymore. Also your opt-out button in the marketing emails leads to a 404 Error. Good job.

The one time move in fee for the rental vehicle, gas and mileage was more than fair. I paid.25 cents a mile and.25 cents a mile for gas and I had the rental truck from 11am until 5pm and my total cost was $8.50. The great customer service, the great truck rental fee, plus the clean rental facility deserves 5 stars from me. I highly recommend!
