Steven was awesome today! He helped me out on the phone and also when I went into the office today. He was very kind, caring and knowledgeable about my needs and wants! With prices so high now we were able to find me a space that is affordable and just the right size. I'm only giving this place one star because thank God they have places like this for people to store their belongings when they are in a desperate situation. I was put in a desperate situation to have to find a place where o could store my belongings. I found Extra Space Storage on Grant. Disclaimer: I have never used a storage space before.. So I called extra space storage on Grant, and the customer service is grand. If I was rating this on customer service alone they would get five stars. I had no issues with the nice employee who helped me find the best storage unit for my belongings. He was patient with me and didn't mind showing me multiple units. I had to keep my things in storage for a total of 3 months. "Allegedly" I caught a "sale" and I got the first month or second month at a "no charge rate" I asked the guy at the counter if I could pay for the unit in full... he said yes. The total came out to $373.71.... Of course your paying certain fees and everything initially so I was fine with that... I'm thinking wow that's really not too bad for 3 months. I got another bill in January for $273.08.... So the total amount for 3 months of storage was roughly $650.00... Now it is what it is if I'm wrong but where was my "sale" or my "discount" I'm confused.. Ok money part aside, the day comes when it's time to move my belongings out. Not remember I've never dealt with a storage unit before so again if I'm wrong then it is what is it but as we're clearing the unit we smell a funny odor. I have checked my storage unit in the three months quite frequently and I haven't noticed the odor. I will say the last month (January) I didn't get to the storage as often as I liked because of weather and situations. But we smelled an odd odor and then on top of that we noticed mice dropping in corners and along the belongings. I am beyond pissed because no one informed me that there could be a possibility of mice... I have never put my things in storage so I do not know the ins and outs. But someone should have said that there is a possibility of mice running around .. I would have placed certain items in there to keep them out. I am very disgusted and would never put anything else in this storage place or any other storage place for that matter. read more

The location itself is fine. Nothing spectacular or above and beyond what you would expect. The actual units are your basic all-cement, roll-down gate units. There's music piped in to keep it from having that creepy basement feel. Parking is awkward at best for most of the buildings. They sell parking spaces for storage purposes so if all of the spaces are full, you have to park your car/truck/van in the middle of the driveway in front of your building which, for at least 2 buildings, is the only driving space available, cars can not pass if you park there. The problem arises when more than one person needs to get past that building, because then you find yourself stuck and waiting for whoever owns the car in the middle of the driveway. My general complaint is with disclosure. When we originally went with this storage unit I was paying $60/month. That was 3 years ago and I am now paying $93/month. We were never informed that prices would steadily increase every 6mos-1yr that you remain in the unit. I complained and was given a "deal" that my rate would only be increased once a year, but it is just a little outrageous for a first time self-storage renter like myself to have not been informed that the rate I signed up for would be changing at the whim of the company. Now that I know, I'll be asking about the rent increase policy when I move my belongings out in the future. read more

They have climate controlled units and on site management and security as most storage units should. The manager was very kind and helpful. We were able to call, show up, and sign a lease for our own unit within a half hour. Clean, secure, and well priced. Management was very clear about lease terms and the process was very quick and easy. They had a great discount sale going on as well. After looking into three other storage locations, I'd definitely recommend this one! read more

Very professional and friendly on site personnel. Viewing the favorites and signing up was a joy. They are less expensive than neighboring storage facilities of equal or above their quality. The only reason this place doesn't get 5 stars is the hours. I feel they can be longer. read more
