I was pleasantly surprised when I visited Ocean Storage. I was expecting a seedy, poorly lit building with many people hanging around. However, it is modern and located right off of 17. You can only open the sliding doors with a code, and there are dollys in the entryway if needed. The elevator is big enough to accommodate a large bed or mattress. There are many units still available for rent, and they come in multiple sizes. On top of great service, they also are giving half off for the first three months. My parents are picky about where they will leave their items, but they have nothing but positive things to say about Ocean Storage!

(Thats 6 months in advance ok?) Stor Moore was my "preferred" pickup location, because it was literally 0.8 miles from my house! Anyway, I decided to stop into Stor Moore the day before my scheduled pickup just to make sure they had me all set for the next morning. Turns out Uhaul(not Stor Moore) reserved me, but never "scheduled" me which all in short almost means that they gave my truck to the first person who paid up front for it. I called Uhaul customer service just for them to tell me, "sorry we dont have any equipment in the area at all, but we can give you a $50 credit towards your card on file for the inconvenience!! WHAT??? I basically tell her that is bogus, unfair, and flat out incompetent customer service. She then says "well we do have a truck available in Windsor, Va but the auto transport is in Franklin so you'd have to go pick them both up separately. Which means I would be driving my own car, plus the uhaul truck for about 2-3 extra hours. I was literally on the verge of tears. All this planning for our move, just to come down to we dont even have a truck after reserving 6 months in advance. We called a few competitor truck rental companies just to be disappointed again because now we'd be considered "last minute" reservations which is way more expensive (approx $300-$400 more) It was just a frustrating mess!! But Stor Moore to the rescuuuee!! lol The staff at this location was working on my behalf all along, and speaking to higher ups and their go to direct contacts for Uhaul. They called me back to tell me that they'd received the ok to go and pick up both the truck and auto transport for me at no additional charge and that they'd have it for me on time the next day as planned! Not only that, I was comped an extra 200 miles, and given a discount on the overall rental equipment. They took care of us at Stor Moore!! (7307 George Washington Memorial Hwy, Yorktown, Va). Its been a long process planning our big move from VA to FL, but thank God for the amazing and helpful staff at Stor Moore man. They really look out for their customers and I'll NEVER forget it!!!

Originally from Hampton Roads, we have moved several times for work reasons over the past decade. Along the way, we've met and dealt with a lot of vendors. It's such a breath of fresh air to find commercial/business folks who not only do good work but also are good people. You don't have to worry about them. You know you're in good hands. You can trust them. Tony and co. here at Morningstar are just such folks. He didn't simply do the job and take care of the paperwork, the facilities, etc. He cared about us as people and our situation. He was prompt in returning messages, whether voice or email. He thoroughly paid attention to details. When a discrepancy arose with the facility from normal wear-and-tear, he remediated it immediately. He even went out of his way sometimes in that "thinking ahead before we had to think about it" manner to ensure our experience was top-notch. He clearly prides himself on both providing a good business and being a good "businessman." On the happenstance that we bumped into his wife one day while passing through the complex, we bragged on him to her. Good people. And so, by the time we were out of the woods of needing local storage and went to "close out," Tony had become, frankly, kind of like family to us.
