    Bacon, Egg & Cheese*

Like some others, I am the carnivore that was brought here by the vegan friend. My bestie was in town and wanted to try this vegan restaurant since we were in the area. It seems like a one-man show, with who I presumed is the owner taking our order and making our food. He was super nice and the interior is cute! Indoor and outdoor seating, with the majority of the indoor seating being bar-style. We ended up ordering the chopped cheese and bacon egg & cheese. I'll say it, I was surprised! The chopped cheese was very flavorful and my friend LOVED the bacon egg & cheese. The only reason for less than 5 stars is for a $20 meal, I was still hungry. Definitely worth checking out! **to the nice owner, please add a QR code menu to the front!!

I love Extra Market. I had Chopped Cheese. The bread was crispy and soft, just like a sandwich should be. The ingredients inside were so fresh, vegan beef, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, vegan mayo and ketchup. It was made to order, came out pretty darn fast and was hot. Extra Market has a New York feel to it. I sat at the counter so I could see my food being made on the grill. It was pretty darn cool. The owner, Jamie, is a really nice guy and he's passionate about what he does. There's even a market and store you can shop at during your visit. The bacon and eggs are homemade (maybe more, but I know those are for sure). I tried the bacon and it's the best I've ever had. I highly recommend Extra Market for vegans and non-vegans alike.

Best vegan burger spot in LA. I crave this place...I've come 3x in two weeks. The cheeseburger is delicious and the customer service is always great. The food is reasonably priced. I've only had the burgers and fries but I'm curious about the rest of the menu. As a long time vegan, this place stomps a lot of places. Please don't ever close!! The only downside is the parking situation because it's on Fairfax- but it's worth it, I promise!

Best in town hands down. I don't understand how this place doesn't have a line out the door. I've been here twice. This place is awesome. The customer service is great. My burger tasted really delicious. I like how the fries are thinly cut. They taste really good also. If this place was near my home, I'd eat here weekly. Ambiance is minimal, clean and simple. Overall it's a really nice place! Highly recommend it.

This place has been saved on yelp for so long and I finally got to stop by! I loved the decor and all the cute art that's put up, it's definitely a vibe. There's lots a seating, indoor and outdoor so you won't have to worry about that. The service is great, it's a welcoming place you could tell by all the other amazing reviews about Jamie. You could come here for great vegan bodega like food and even better conversation. The chop cheese is a must try, and you'll love the nostalgia of the frito pies. I enjoyed everything about this place I know you will too

Great place! Vegan Sandwiches and burgers tastes like meat! It is good solution for meat lovers like me! Healthy and delicious! Good service and clean restrooms.

    Nashville Fried chicken sandwich
    Shahana ..

I HATE VEGAN FOOD. Hate it. Hate it. 95% of the time it's nasty. So i can confirm that this place is BOMBBBB!!!! Got the Nashville fried chicken sandwich! And a corn salad because they were out of potato (sad tears) Idk how but the sandwich legit looked just like real chicken. It was super flavorful and perfect. I'd hands down come back when I'm "being healthy" ;) but the sandwich itself was not spicy like other "Nashville" sandwiches I've had. Still SUPER good but not spicy. The corn salad was good but tasted like salsa so definitely needed chips or something. Customer service was super friendly and informative so I appreciated that!

*THE SPECIAL* GRANDEZA'S NASHVILLE HOT CHICKEN SANDWICH
    Muna A.

I ordered takeout and got the Nashville Hot Chicken special! It's vegan and tasted so yummy! The veggies in there were seasoned perfectly- the sandwich could have been a little more spicy though! But otherwise the bread and "chicken" were so good!! The staff was also really kind! Drinks were a little overpriced about $5 for a lemonade, $2.50-5 for water Ambiance - 4/5 Service - 5/5 Food - 5/5

chili cheese fries, definitely needed more chili. still bomb.

Came here last week with tomo and ordered chili cheese fries, hot chicken sandwich and the bacon, egg & cheese. Everything was bomb but I wish they put more chili on the fries. It was hard to pick which one was my fav but tomo loved the hot chicken sandwich. Also, the guy in the front is so nice and welcoming. Good place for some quick grub.

Service is excellent here and I recommend dining in for optimal dining experience. However, all my leftovers were still fire, as well. I would recommend getting all of these dishes: *~Green Curry Dumpling ($12) - This may be a sleeper hit but the green curry surrounding the steamed veggie dumplings is a nice level of spicy and just makes my mouth watering thinking about this appetizer. *~Crispy Duck Rolls ($14) - They're fresh & feel so refreshing to eat with a few pieces of roasted duck inside and their fresh Thai slaw with some hoisin sauce, all wrapped in rice paper and lettuce, of course. I'm obsessed with this appetizer, as well! *~Pad Thai Meltdown ($22) - This is the most fun spin on pad thai of all time! I'm a basic girl and goodness do I love pad thai. Well their recipe is absolutely delicious ~ but this dish has melted cheese on top, as well! It's not as weird as it sounds, it's actually amazing just making the dish taste more creamy, not really cheesy tasting. My only disappoint was they are supposed to grate & melt the cheese tableside and that didn't happen. I went on a busy lunch though so I'm assuming that's why we didn't get the tableside show! Maybe next time! *~Chef Katt's Special Fried Rice ($18) - If you're going to get a fried rice, this classic Thai one may be the one to get with sweet Thai sausage slices and bacon pieces throughout. Loved this fried rice! Honestly, this was the best Thai food I've had in ages! They are adding little spins on dishes to make them fresh and new, and most importantly - delicious! I'll be back soon!

I had a craving for Esco's pizza (a telltale sign that Esco's has now occupied my brain more than the neighboring pizzerias) so I popped in on a Sunday and found that they had slices of oxtail pizza. I immediately ordered it. They also had jerk chicken pizza and a chicken pesto pizza. After talking to the woman behind the counter, I decided to order pesto pizza, since she recommended it and it was the best decision! The chicken pesto pizza is so flavorful. Chicken pieces were cooked tender, not dry and it was fully marinated in the pesto. Great fresh tastes of basil, Parmesan cheese and the pine nuts, one slice was enough to be a satisfying meal. Buuut, I didn't in this case, because I still had the oxtail! The beef was tender with a slight crispy edge and was served generously on the slice. Jalapeno slices add just the right amount of heat. It comes with a a side of consomme where you can dip your pizza. I would definitely come back for both slices. People from Esco's are mad friendly and hospitable which is a huge pull for me. Bumped up the rating a star!

My husband has type 1 diabetes so we very rarely eat at Italian ristorantes. Chef Tara has helped us rediscover a new world of flavor without negative impacts on my husband's blood sugar and cholesterol. (Thanks for the variety of non-dairy cheeses!!) Tip for first-timers: go when you can have the brunch or the lunch menu. Then you'll have so many options that you'll have to return! Round 1 Polpettine (meatballs) are made from lentils and texture similar to the real ones; lovely marinara sauce and ground macadamia nut instead of parmesan. Complement this with the citrus notes that highlight the sauteed swiss chard with earthy Italian butter / gigante beans. Round 2 The same beans are in the Greek goddess salad: rich with tomatoes, kalamata olives, and fresh red onions. This was a visually stunning and paired well with the Sicilian almond 'tuna' melt. The tuna is by far the most imaginative. Again, Chef Tara and the back of the house nailed the texture and I loved the hints of crunchy celery. The capers injected tiny bursts of salt and tartness. The only moderation I'd consider is slightly crisping / toasting the sandwich bread -- but the tuna melt sando is great as it is. The sauce was flavorful without being sickly sweet, while the chicken, potatoes, and carrots were also of good quality. They were also small-ish pieces, not the huge ones you sometimes get, though the portions of them was actually large. So large, in fact, that I sort of regret getting something else as well. Sort of. I also got the Crispy Wontons, which were thin but still tasty, and rather filling (you get six). But as good as they were, they and the curry was too much. It also didn't help that, along with the white rice that came with my curry, I got something they call Healthy Rice, which is (according to the menu), "wild black rice, brown rice, [and] red quinoa" (I actually thought I was getting the Healthy Rice instead of the white, but whatever.) It was okay; the white rice was much better, especially when it had some yellow curry sauce on it. And no, to answer the obvious question, I didn't eat all of the rice. Just all of the white and some of the Healthy. As for the place itself, it was clean, and the staff were very friendly. The food also came out in a decent amount of time, and was nice and hot when it did. The place is small, though. There's maybe a dozen seats outside, and fewer inside, which may explain why most of the people who came in walked out with a bag a minute later. Also, the seats outside were wooden stools, which didn't bother me, but it would've been an issue for my elderly mother, and thus other people as well. Oh, and this has become a thing with me and resteraunts lately: napkins and utensils. Thankfully, this place's napkins were the big kind, and they gave me two of them, while the utensils were real and metal, not plastic. In fact, the only bad thing about the place is that it's on La Brea, and a block below Wilshire, so parking may be an issue. They do have valet at night, but I didn't check to see how much it was. I was drawn towards the 'N Seoul Bowl' (Korean spicy plant based pork, house marinated Kimchi, organic edamame, steamed organic spinach, carrot, steamed broccoli, onion , organic shiitake, topped with green onion and sesame seeds and side organic quinoa). So good, a bit spicy, and so many flavors on the plate it was impossible to not only love it, but I could not finish it, either. That goes from all their dishes. They are big, and in our experience, it came out piping hot soon after ordering it. My companion tried the 'Indian Tikka Masala' (homemade Indian curry, broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini, yellow squash, potatoes, cabbage, chickpea, micro green, Served with blend wild Jasmin rice and Indian Flat Bread). So many vegan spots rely way too heavily on processed, hyper-engineered faux meats and cheeses. This place strikes such a lovely, authentic balance. You can get a genuinely vibrant, healthy bowl, or dive into comfort food classics like their mean vegan chicken sandwich--and I hear the sweet potato fries are a fantastic side, too. To top it all off, the female owners are absolute gems. Even over the phone, they treat everyone with this effortless, warm hospitality that makes you feel like an old friend. It's just great energy all around. Check them out!
