It was well worth the cost for me! The main con I had was that the women's locker room was disgusting. The moment you walked in, you could immediately smell the urine. It was awful, I would hold my breath every time. The showers were also gross and had very weak water pressure. The entire 2 months of my swim classes, the machine to dry your swimsuit was broken until the very last day of my class it worked again.

You do need to pay membership to use the facility, but I think it is valuable. They keep the facilities clean, and the programs are with quality and provide limited value to everyone. The staff at planet fitness cares way more about their facility than this place does. I was there on a Saturday night with about 6 other people working out in there and there is only one bin stocked with wipes. There are dirty wipes laying all over the gym. I am very glute focused and two of the machines are broken and no signage even posted that something is being done. A different one doesn't even have stickers on the dial to tell me what the weights are. I think there should be signage posted on the outside of the room where classes are held to let people know not to enter. I found the instructor very rude as I did not know. The upstairs where the treadmills are is so hot. I wish I stayed at planet fitness.

Decent weight machines (few fixable issues) and free weights. Sauna is always a treat after a workout. Front end staff and sales are friendly and professional. The bad: Cardio machines... Fix all the broken equipment at the Downingtown location: ellipticals, no cup holders for the elliptical machines- safety hazard placing water bottles on the floor, ab crunch machine that isn't securely bolted to the floor, and replace knobs for the leg extension machine because the numbers rubbed off. Today I saw 2 ellipticals with "out of order" signs. The elliptical next to those 2 is also out of order. I'm sure there's more. This gym is not kept up with or safe with some of the equipment. Also in the aerobics room, there's too many mats. West Chester LA Fitness never received their order for mats which might be the reason Downingtown has too many. Somebody's got to deliver them to West Chester. Other members have also wanted to just bring them to West Chester but agree that LAF needs to do this.
