**Worst salon experience ever**…read more I am extremely unhappy with my experience here. First, the price advertised online was not what I was charged. The website stated that a blow\-dry was complimentary, but when I showed them the website, they had to correct the information that same day and still did not honor the complimentary blow Dry even though they saw it was listed online .There were also additional charges that were not clearly listed online. Price was wayyyymore expensive More importantly, I went in specifically asking for blonde hair without brassiness I said it a million times I have been getting my hair professionally highlighted for years and know what works for my hair and always achieve a beautiful blonde when done correctly .was reassured that I would get the blonde color I normally have, even though they didn't do anything that other stylist do i absolutely did not get the result i was left with extremely orange, brassy hair that honestly looks like clown hair. This is honestly the worst my hair has ever been I paid for a full head of highlights, yet large sections of the back and entire areas were left without highlights had significant regrowth, and the left side was barely touched compared was shocked that this was considered a full head. The toner was also left on for far too long, and my hair is now more damaged than it has ever been.I had an important event this week and instead of feeling good about my hair, I am embarrassed and extremely upset about how it looks and feels Unfortunately, I also did not feel that the stylist was confident or experienced with the color I was asking for, despite reassuring me that she could achieve it. the salon owner had to keep showing her what to do . Made me Extremely uneasy and nervous The salon itself also had an unpleasant smell when I walked in and looked very rundown . Between the unexpected charges, not honoring the advertised blow\-dry, the uneven highlights, the excessive brassiness, and the damage to my hair, this was an absolutely terrible experience. I would **not recommend this salon, especially if you are looking for blonde hair.Save yourself the frustration and go somewhere else. Theres a lot Other better places I Promise . THis is the worst ! I would never ever go back !!

To further explain - I went in as a walk-in on a Thursday afternoon to inquire about same or next day appointment availability. There was one person working who said she could take me right away. After washing she parted my hair in the middle and cut my hair straight across. No cleaning up the ends, no smoothing or texturizing - just a straight blunt cut across. I was in the chair for one minute. She then asked if there was anything else she could help with? It was really odd. I did opt to have my hair blow dried. When I went to check out, I was charged 3x what the prices posted on the wall were. I questioned it, and she confirmed it was correct. My hair frizzed up within 5 minutes of leaving the salon, so I don't think it was dried completely. The way my hair was cut was literally what I did to trim my split ends myself during the start of the Covid pandemic when salons were not open. This was not a professional cut. Meanwhile, I have shared this story with with friends, including a couple who work in the industry, who were all appalled at what I paid. I tried calling and following up to express my concern a few weeks later and my call was never returned. I think this place was empty for a reason. There seem to be positive reviews from a couple years ago. Something has definitely changed based on my experience.

Finding the right salon and stylist for you is a tough endeavor. Women aren't a fan of it if they…read moredon't already have someone they can trust. This was me. My previous stylist was a one-woman show and it rescheduling with her wasn't easy (in my opinion, this is a good problem for her to have!). I decided to do my online research to try and find a salon that was a bit closer to home, but still with that trendy flare I was needing in my life. Salon Rae Cal was it! Located conveniently near the highway in Worcester, I was sold on that aspect, but not just yet. Instagram is the cousin of Yelp if you didn't know. One must always search on other forms of social media before building that trust. I did that and called immediately after seeing the amazing work they did there. Sasha was my stylist and the vibes I got from her instantly allowed me to relax and trust her. While we were doing my toner, she said "did you want more lavender in here?" I said, "Sure, why not?" She said she liked it when my hair was wet and when she dried it, I know we made a great choice to do it! While she was cutting my hair she told me she was going to be taking a class on cutting bobs. What you should always look for with your stylist is them continuing their education and staying up to date with trends. These ladies in Salon Rae Cal work together so well, more like a sisterhood, and it shows. My question to you, reader, is why aren't you picking up the phone to book your appointment, too? You aren't going to be disappointed.
